In this paper we demonstrate how to use optical simulation to enhance OLED performance. Using stateof-the-art p-i-n OLEDs, we validate our optical model by fitting key figures like current, power, and quantum efficiencies to the experimental results. We finally provide general design guidelines for optically optimized OLEDs.
Centrifugation is a method to create functionally graded materials (FGM) with a thermosetting matrix. In this study the movement of short carbon fibers in an epoxy resin during the centrifugation process was modeled to determine the fiber distribution in the final product. For this purpose a form factor K was introduced to modify a set of equations that was previously shown to be valid for the motion of spheres. It was shown that the results of the simulation were in good agreement with the experimental data, when an empirical K factor of four was chosen.

The sophistication of current software applications results in the increasing cost fur software development time. The component-based software development framework is proposed to overcome the difficulty and time-consuming requirements by modularity and reusability. As is the general software case, a component-based simulation framework encourages the reusability of the real system model based on the modularity of the applied simulation methodology. This paper presents a component-based simulation environment that is based on the DEVS/COM run-time infrastructure. The DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) formalism provides a formal modeling and simulation framework for the generic dynamic systems [1] and Microsoft's COM (Component Object Model) is one of the strongest competitor fur the component standard. The reusability by the DEVS/COM simulation environment saves model development time remarkably and component technology make simulator itself to be a subparts of real application.

We demonstrate small-scale high-T$_c$ superconductor RSFQ(Rapid Single Flux Quantum) circuits using multilayer bicrystal technology. An RSFQ balanced comparator is demonstrated with good current resolution, and its operating conditions are discussed in some detail. A single-loop delta-sigma modulator is realized adding a feedback loop to the comparator. The effect of the feedback is confirmed by dc measurement and simulation. A design of an RSFQ toggle flip-flop with the same multilayer bicrystal technology is suggested.

In this paper, we propose a technique that can express low-resolution hair and fur simulations in high-resolution without noise using ConvNet and geometric images of strands in the form of lines. Pairs between low-resolution and high-resolution data can be obtained through physics-based simulation, and a low-resolution-high-resolution data pair is established using the obtained data. The data used for training is used by converting the position of the hair strands into a geometric image. The hair and fur network proposed in this paper is used for an image synthesizer that upscales a low-resolution image to a high-resolution image. If the high-resolution geometry image obtained as a result of the test is converted back to high-resolution hair, it is possible to express the elastic movement of hair, which is difficult to express with a single mapping function. As for the performance of the synthesis result, it showed faster performance than the traditional physics-based simulation, and it can be easily executed without knowing complex numerical analysis.

This paper presents simple models for flow and the PIG dynamics when it passes through a $90^{\circ}$ curved section of pipeline. The simulation has been done with two different operational boundary conditions. The solution fur non-linear hyperbolic partial equations for flow is given by using MOC. The Runge-Kuta method is used to solve the initial condition equation fur flow and the PIG dynamics equation. The simulation results show that the proposed model and solution can be used fur estimating the PIG dynamics when the pig runs in the pipeline including curved section. In this paper, dynamic modeling and its analysis for the PIG flow through $90^{\circ}$ curved pipe with compressible and unsteady flow are studied. The PIG dynamics model is derived by using Lagrange equation under assumption that it passes through 3 different sections in the curved pipeline such that it moves into, inside and out of the curved section. The downstream and up stream flow dynamics including the curved sections are solved using MOC. The effectiveness of the derived mathematical models is estimated by simulation results fur a low pressure natural gas pipeline including downward and upward curved sections. The simulation results show that the proposed model and solution can be used for estimating the PIG dynamics when we pig the pipeline including curved section.

Electric power market in Japan is now on the trend of deregulation and privatization just like in Europe and the United States. And various approaches for risk management have been investigated taking the electric power price fluctuation after the deregulation into account. The behavior of the investment in power generation plants has not, however, been studied in detail yet due to the complexity of the problem. The problem of the investment in the deregulated power market is that of autonomous decentralized decision-making system, which includes various kinds of decision-makers, that is, power producers called IPPS Each generator has its own criteria for plant investment. Therefore, the total behavior of the decentralized power market will be so complicated, and normative approach will not be applicable fur this analysis. We have developed a simulation-based system fur behavioral analysis and also the framework design of the decentralized power market.

This paper deals with the finite element model of the monitor fur the simulation of directional free drop tests such as the backward and vertex free drop as well as the associated free-drop experiment. The model was made for an unconditional stable solution fur the explicit integration algorithm. It was found through the comparison between simulation and experimental results that the general behaviors at the time of impact were observed to well correlate with each other in terms of acceleration, displacement, contact force and stress of monitor components.

In this paper we present an overview of existing state of the art visualization techniques fur the interactive analysis of results from numerical simulations and measurements. We describe the basic concepts and key ideas behind these different visualization methods in this paper. The potential of these techniques for an efficient integration into a virtual reality environment will be investigated. Furthermore we present our first demonstrator fur visualizing multiparametric data and give an outlook on our plans for further exploiting and developing these techniques in an upcoming project.
