  • Opinion mining involves the analysis of customer opinions using product reviews and provides meaningful information including the polarity of the opinions. In opinion mining, feature extraction is important since the customers do not normally express their product opinions holistically but separately according to its individual features. However, previous research on feature-based opinion mining has not had good results due to drawbacks, such as selecting a feature considering only syntactical grammar information or treating features with similar meanings as different. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an enhanced feature extraction and refinement method called FEROM that effectively extracts correct features from review data by exploiting both grammatical properties and semantic characteristics of feature words and refines the features by recognizing and merging similar ones. A series of experiments performed on actual online review data demonstrated that FEROM is highly effective at extracting and refining features for analyzing customer review data and eventually contributes to accurate and functional opinion mining.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of consumers' engagement through SNS sports advertisements on purchase intention through advertising attitudes and product trust for the disabled. In other words, it was intended to investigate how the disabled people's intention to purchase products is formed by acting on various sports product advertisements that are seen during SNS activities. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on 300 people with disabilities participating in sports for the disabled. As a result, it was found that functional engagement had a positive effect on both advertising attitude and product trust, and advertising attitude and product trust had a positive effect on purchase intention. However, emotion engineering and communal engineering were found to have a negative effect on advertising attitudes and not on product trust.

  • Unknown morpheme errors in Korean morphological analysis are divided into two types: The one is the errors that a morphological analyzer entirely fails to return any morpheme sequences, and the other is the errors that a morphological analyzer returns incorrect combinations of known morphemes. Most previous unknown morpheme estimation techniques have been focused on only the former errors. This paper proposes a unknown morpheme estimation method which can handle both of the unknown morpheme errors. The proposed method detects Eojeols (Korean spacing units) that may include unknown morpheme errors using SVM (Support Vector Machine). Then, using CRFs (Conditional Random Fields), it segments morphemes from the detected Eojeols and annotates the segmented morphemes with new POS tags. In the experiments, the proposed method outperformed the conventional method based on the longest matching of functional words. Based on the experimental results, we knew that the second type errors should be dealt with in order to increase the performance of Korean morphological analysis.

  • Based on the previous analysis by Wanghongjun(2008), this paper applies Optimality Theory (OT) to the field of partial reduplication in Korea to increase its scientific validity. Toward this end, I propose an alternative analysis of Korean partial reduplication, applied as a single process of prefixation. Reduplicated words by prefixation are divided into two types: with a heavy syllable of the stem, and another with the stem. The two types of partial reduplication are closely related by the sound features. In addition, I discussed Chinese partial reduplication from a prefixation perspective within the framework of OT and performed contrastive analysis of Korean and Standard Chinese processes of reduplication by focusing on constrained rankings. As a result, the alternative analysis showed a systematic relationship among the reduplicated words in Korean and Standard Chinese. Lastly, I explained that the coronal /t/ and liquid /l/ have a special functional hierarchy in both languages. This study can be re-explained based on the framework of OT according to a few major constraints, involving MAX-BR, MAX-IO. Their rankings show the adequacy of analysis.

  • Purpose: To localize and compare the neural basis of verbal and visual human working memory, we performed functional activation study using $H_2^{15}O$ PET. Materials and Methods: Repeated $H_2^{15}O$ PET scans with one control and three different activation tasks were performed on six right-handed normal volunteers. Each activation task was composed of 13 match-ing trials. On each trial, four targets, a fixation dot and a probe were presented sequentially and subject's task was to press a response button to indicate whether or not the probe was one of the previous targets. Short meaningful Korean words, simple drawings and monochromic pictures of human faces were used as matching objects for verbal or visual memory. All the images were spatially normalized and the differences between control and activation states were statistically analyzed using SPM96. Results: Statistical analysis of verbal memory activation with short words showed activation in the left Broca's area, promoter cortex, cerebellum and right cingulate gyrus. In verbal memory with simple drawings, activation was shown in the larger regions including where activated with short words and left superior temporal cortex, basal ganglia, thalamus, prefrontal cortex, anterior portion of right superior temporal gyrus and right infero-lateral frontal cortex. On the other hand, the visual memory task activated predominantly right-sided structures, especially inferior frontal cortex, supplementary motor cortex and superior parietal cortex. Conclusion: The results are consistent with the hypothesis of the laterality and dissociation of the verbal and visual working memory from the invasive electrophysiological studies and emphasize the pivotal role of frontal cortex and cingulate gyrus in working memory system.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health literacy levels of elementary school students. Methods: Participants were 331 fifth and sixth graders in nine elementary schools located in Gyeongsangnam-do. Instruments were 42 health-related words derived from fifth-grade textbook 'Health in Daily Life' for linguistic health literacy, modified Korean Health Literacy Assessment Tool (KHLAT) for numeracy section of functional health literacy, items from a snack box and newspaper article for reading comprehension section of functional health literacy. Data were collected from July 15 to August 15, 2013. Results: The mean score for linguistic health literacy was $24.02{\pm}7.16$ of 42 (57.2% were correct answers). The mean score for functional health literacy was $9.27{\pm}2.30$ of 12 (77.3% were correct answers). There were significant differences in health literacy by grade and academic performance. Conclusion: This study results show that both linguistic and functional health literacy among elementary school students were not high enough to use health-related information and make appropriate health-related decisions. Therefore, it is important to develop strategies aimed at increasing health literacy levels, especially focused on underperforming students. It is also necessary that studies be done on the factors affecting the health literacy of elementary-school students.

  • While content word-based frequency analysis has obvious limitations to intentional deception or irony, KLIWC has evolved into functional word analysis and KrKwic has evolved as a way to visualize co-occurrence frequencies. However, after more than 10 years of development, several issues still need improvement. Therefore, we tried to develop a new psychological language analysis program by analyzing KLIWC and KrKwic. First, the two programs were analyzed. In particular, the morpheme classification of KLIWC and the Korean morpheme analyzer was compared to enhance the functional word analysis function, and the psychological dictionary were analyzed to strengthen the psychological analysis. As a result of the analysis, the Hannanum part-of-speech analyzer was the most subdivided, but KLIWC for personal pronouns and KKMA for endings and endings were more subdivided, suggesting the integrated use of multiple part-of-speech analyzers to strengthen functional word analysis. Second, the research trends of studies that analyzed texts with these programs were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the two programs were used in various academic fields, including the field of Interdisciplinary Studies. In particular, KrKwic was used a lot for the analysis of papers and reports, and KLIWC was used a lot for the comparative study of the writer's thoughts, emotions, and personality. Based on these results, the necessity and direction of development of a new psychological language analysis program were suggested.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis patients not only suffer from the physical damage, but they are afflicted severely mental and psychologic after effects. Their depression and low self-esteem eventually yields serious mental damages, which makes difficult for them to recover. The states of mental health of arthritis patients are diversified depending on the characters and surrounding circumstances, although they may have suffered from the similar condition. Therefore this research was conbucted to the factors that can give positive influences to the patients. In recent time, social support for the arthritis patients has become an important factor that can positively influence their mental health. In other words, social support can act as an important environmental system for arthritis patients to recover their damaged mental health. In order to fulfill this purpose, 118 patients were examined to identify the relationship between the variables. The summary of the result obtained from the research is as follow: 1. The structural aspect of social support for arthritis patients showed the most of them had various social support network size and their highest support system were 'family', 'relative' and 'friends'. The functional aspect of social support for arthritis patients showed moderate degree and their highest sub component was 'approval'. 2. High correlation was found between duration of relationship, similarity, frequency of meeting and functional support. There was no relationship between depression, self-esteem and social support. 3. Therefore this research has suggested that nurses who care rheumatoid arthritis patient consider the above condition to develop self-help group.
