RBF 커널과 다중 클래스 SVM을 이용한 생리적 반응 기반 감정 인식 기술 (Physiological Responses-Based Emotion Recognition Using Multi-Class SVM with RBF Kernel)

  • Emotion Recognition is one of the important part to develop in human-human and human computer interaction. In this paper, we have focused on the performance of multi-class SVM (Support Vector Machine) with Gaussian RFB (Radial Basis function) kernel, which has been used to solve the problem of emotion recognition from physiological signals and to improve the accuracy of emotion recognition. The experimental paradigm for data acquisition, visual-stimuli of IAPS (International Affective Picture System) are used to induce emotional states, such as fear, disgust, joy, and neutral for each subject. The raw signals of acquisited data are splitted in the trial from each session to pre-process the data. The mean value and standard deviation are employed to extract the data for feature extraction and preparing in the next step of classification. The experimental results are proving that the proposed approach of multi-class SVM with Gaussian RBF kernel with OVO (One-Versus-One) method provided the successful performance, accuracies of classification, which has been performed over these four emotions.

감정 상태에 따라 색 오버레이가 언어 인지 기능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Color Overlay on Reading Comprehension Depending on Emotional State)

  • 디지털 기술의 발달과 함께 색 정보를 획득하고 색 정보를 다양한 콘텐츠와 결합하여 활용할 수 있는 새로운 방법들이 등장하고 있다. 색은 이미지의 요소로서 이미지와 관련된 정보를 주거나 우리의 감성에 영향을 준다. 또한, 색 자극에 의한 감성의 변화나 감각의 변화는 인지 기능에 변화를 가져온다. 본 연구는 인지 기능에 있어서 사용자의 감성에 따른 색 오버레이의 효과에 대해 조사한다. 이 목적에 따라, 20대 성인 남녀 각각 10명을 대상으로 영상을 이용하여 긍정적인 감정과 부정적인 감정을 유도 한 후에 적색/주황색/녹색 오버레이를 적용했을 때의 문제 풀이 능력을 테스트 하였다. 실험 분석 결과 긍정적인 감정 상태에서는 적색이 문제 풀이 능력을 저하시켰고, 부정적인 감정 상태에서는 녹색이 문제풀이 능력을 향상 시켰다. 또한, 색 오버레이 적용애 따른 초기 감정 상태가 인지에 주는 영향을 분석한 결과, 색 오버레이 적용시에는 초기 감정 상태에 따른 차이가 발생하지 않는 반면, 색 오버레이 미적용시에는 긍정적 감정 상태에서 언어 인지 능력이 통계적으로 유의미하게 부정적인 감정 상태에서 보다 향상됨을 보였다.

  • Since the origin of the web site in ti)e first part of the 90's there has been discussion regarding the function of aesthetics. Visual aesthetics has for the most part played an absolutely necessary role in human-computer interactive research. This study is intended to design websites on aesthetic aspects which focuses on the websites of universities in Korea and China. What exactly are the differences and commonalities of each; and how they have been clarified by methods of empirical research on aesthetic measurements.

전정안구반사를 이용한 평형감각 평가용 시뮬레이터의 개발 (Development of Simulator for Evaluation Balance by Using Vestibuloocular Reflex)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a sinusoidal rotatory chair systim for evaluating the vestibular function in patients suffered from vertigo with vestibualr disorders. The sinusoidal rotatory chair system is composed of a rotatory chair systim and softwares. Maximum velocity of the rotatiry chair was upto 60 degree per second and frequency range was 0.01 to 0.64 Hz. To evaluate the vestibular function in vertigo patients, vestibuloocular reflex was measured by sinusoidal rotation of the whole body about vertical axis in the darkness, and optokinetic nystagmus, visual vestibuloocular reflex , and visual supression test were also performed. Eye movement was measured by means of a electronystgmograph amplifier through Ag-AgCI surface electrodes. Gain, phase, and symmetry were obtained from analysis of the eye movement ineuced by vestibular or visual stimulation. In healthy adults, sinusoidal rotation of the shole body produced nystagmus, of which gain was directly proportional to the velocity of stimulation. The gain of visual vestibuloocular reflex or optokinetic nystagmus, and it was suppressed markedly by visual suppression test. These results suggest that the sinusoieal rotatory chair systim which was developed by this study can evaluate the vestibular function quantitatively, also this system is very useful to diagnose and to dstimate the vestibualr function during recovery from vertigo

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a program for analysis of eye movement on balance. Gain, phase and symmetry in eye movement were calculated automatically by softwere algorithm with C. It was concluded the algorithm established in this study will improve accuracy in evaluating balance function.

  • 본 연구에서는 폰트를 식별할 수 있는 모듈을 제공하고 각 폰트마다 가지고있는 감성정보를 추출한다. 각 폰트의 특징 추출을 위해 세그먼트 폭 밀도함수를 사용한다. 각 폰트가 가지는 고유한 밀도함수로부터 폰트를 식별할 수 있다. 두 번째 모듈로서 각 폰트가 수반하는 감성정보를 추출한다. 각 폰트가 갖는 감성정보는 사용자기반의 감성데이타를 수집하고 이를 퍼지 멤버쉽을 이용하여 정의한다. 즉, 폰트정보만을 분석함으로서도 문서, E메일, 웹 문서 등에서 폰트가 수반하는 감성정보를 추출할 수 있다.

  • Color reproduction n CRT monitors needs colorimetric characterization concluding two stages with 3x3 matrix and three TRCs (Tone-Reproduction Characteristics). The 3x3 matrix is based on the additivity of RGB emissions, and the TRC represents the non-linearity between the input digital counts and the output luminance. The objective of this project is to evaluate the accuracy of color reproduction on LCD monitors using conventional CRT model(GOG model). For two different manufacturers, colorimetric characterizations of desktop LCDs have been performed. Because the transfer function for LCD is very differ from TRC of CRT, some researchers had reported that GOG model is inadequate for the colorimetric characterization of LCDs. However in our experiment, the degree of accuracy was dependent on the shape of electro-optical transfer functions of LCD. It has been founded that the GOG model could be applied for LCD monitors having monotonically increased Electro-optical transfer function.

평형감각 측정기술의 개발 (Development for a method of measurement in equilibrium sense)

  • The study was performed to evaluate the sense of equilibrium by means of rotary chair system in middle school girls with dance learning. Control of equilibrium, which is the most important function in dancing, is maintained by vestibular, visual, and proprioceptive inputs. Experimental groups were divided into trained group with dance (experimental group, 13~14 ys, n=15) and untrained group (control group, 13~14 ys, n=15). experimental group was trained by programmed dancing for 12 weeks, 45 min/day and 5 day/week. Gain of eye movement was measured for vestibulocular reflex (VOR), visual vestibular stimulation (VVOR), optokinetic stimulation(OKN), and visual fixation (VFX). The gain of eye movement at higher than 0.08 hz was significant decrease in experimental group, and VVOR showed the similar fashion to VOR. The gain in OKN and VFX was not significant difference between experimental and control groups. These results suggest that programmed training of dancing improves control of balance by adaptation of the vestibular function, and rotary chair system would be useful to evaluate the sense of equilibrium ability.

  • Recently, the size and complexity of the system we have to develop and to deal with are expanding quickly. Because of the great size of causally related network in itself, such a system will be very difficult to deal with based on the typical reduction model. One of alternatives for this is to adopt emergence-based paradigm instead of reduction-based paradigm. The first is based on the low level causality and the latter on the high level emergence. In this paper we proposed an emergence-based object model realizable in terms of engineering. It is the abstracted one from original object model using of such concepts as performance function, interest function and emotional layer. The suggested model allows us to emerge some important concepts which might be useful for implementing the complex system which can hardly be available by reduction paradigm.

A study on the Interactive Expression of Human Emotions in Typography

  • In modern times, text has become an image, and typography is a style that is a combination of image and text that can be easily encountered in everyday life. It is developing not only for the purpose of conveying meaningful communication, but also to bring joy and beauty to our lives as a medium with aesthetic format. This study shows through case analysis that typography is a tool for expressing human emotions, and investigates its characteristics that change along with the media. In particular, interactive communication tools and methods used by interactive typography to express viewers' emotions are described in detail. We created interactive typography using the inputted text, the selected music by the viewer and the viewer's movement. As a result of applying it to the exhibition, we could confirm that interactive typography can function as an effective communication medium that shows the utility of both the iconography of letter signs and the cognitive function when combined with the audience's intentional motion.
