In this paper, we proposed the DFMEA Implementation Method for safety design of Weapon System. First, we presented the process for DFMEA. And then, the case analysis of OOO missile was performed in accordance with the process presented. After defining the system requirements of OOO missile, failure definition scoring criteria was set. In order to clarify the definition of failure, the failure was classified into safety, reliability, maintainability and others. After performing the function analysis, the relationship matrix analysis was performed to identify the failure mode according to the function without omission. After clarifying the failure classification, mode of failure, cause of failure and effect were analyzed to calculate the severity, occurrence and detection values. After the action priority was judged, the recommended action according to the failure classification was identified for the determined action priority. The results of this study can be used as a relevant basis for the design reflection and resource re-allocation of stakeholders.

In this paper, we will make a model that finds optimal phase for each crossroad. When the traffic volume, traffic capacity, and the lane width of every direction is given for each crossroad, we aim to find the most efficient phase. We established an evaluation function that evaluates the efficiency of each phase using the values of the average waiting time in one direction, the average delay time, the standard deviation of the delay time, and the average delay time in each direction. The time allocation to optimize a phase pattern can be obtained by using the gradient decent method. Through this research, we hope to decrease the waiting time in transporation, thus improving the overall traffic condition in cities.
In this paper, scheduling problem is dealt for the minimization of due date penalty for the customer order. Multiproduct batch processes have been dealt with for their suitability for high value added low volume products. Their scheduling problems take minimization of process operation for objective function, which is not enough to meet the customer satisfaction and the process efficiency simultaneously because of increasing requirement of fast adaptation for rapid changing market condition. So new target function has been suggested by other researches to meet two goals. Penalty function minimization is one of them. To present more precisely production scheduling, we develop new scheduling model with penalty function of earliness and tardiness We can find many real cases that penalty parameters are divergent by the difference between the completion time of operation and due date. That is to say, the penalty parameter values for the product change by the customer demand condition. If the order charges different value for due date, we can solve it with the due date period. The period means the time scope where penalty parameter value is 0. If we make use of the due date period, the optimal sequence of our model is not always same with that of fixed due date point. And if every product have due date period, due date of them are overlapped which needs optimization for the maximum profit and minimum penalty. Due date period extension can be enlarged to makespan minimization if every product has the same abundant due date period and same penalty parameter. We solve this new scheduling model by simulated annealing method. We also develop the program, which can calculate the optimal sequence and display the Gantt chart showing the unit progress and time allocation only with processing data.
To reduce management costs and improve performance, the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) introduced the concept of network function virtualization (NFV), which can implement network functions (NFs) on cloud/datacenters. Within the NFV architecture, NFs can share physical resources by hosting NFs on physical nodes (commodity servers). For network service providers who support NFV architectures, an efficient resource allocation method finds utility in being able to reduce operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX). Thus, in this paper, we analyzed the network service chain embedding problem via an optimization formulation and found a close-optimal solution based on the Markov approximation framework. Our simulation results show that our approach could increases on average CPU utilization by up to 73% and link utilization up to 53%.
As the complexity of society increases, the demand for the forest-based recreational site is also increased. This, in turn. makes congestion an ubiquitous type of externality in forest-based recreational site. Efficient resource allocation requires this congestion effect to be accounted and considered in the decision making process. In this content, this study was conducted to suggest a process which can be used to measure the congestion and determine the optimal number of users. Willigness to pay(WTP) function obtained from Book Han San National Park users suggested that every 20.000 users increased decrease the satisfaction of users obtained from the site visit be 27.3%. For the purpose of demonstration this WTP function is applied tit determine the optimal number of users which is estimated as about 73,000 persons per day.

The fifth generation (5G) mobile communication has an impact on the human life over the whole world, nowadays, through the artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). The low latency of the 5G new radio (NR) access is implemented by the state-of-the art technologies, such as non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). This paper investigates a practical issue that in NOMA, for the practical channel models, such as fading channel environments, the successive interference cancellation (SIC) should be performed on the stronger channel users with low power allocation. Only if the SIC is performed on the user with the stronger channel gain, NOMA performs better than orthogonal multiple access (OMA). Otherwise, NOMA performs worse than OMA. Such the superiority requirement can be easily implemented for the channel being static or slow varying, compared to the block interval time. However, most mobile channels experience fading. And symbol by symbol channel estimations and in turn each symbol time, selections of the SIC-performing user look infeasible in the practical environments. Then practically the block of symbols uses the single channel estimation, which is obtained by the training sequence at the head of the block. In this case, not all the symbol times the SIC is performed on the stronger channel user. Sometimes, we do perform the SIC on the weaker channel user; such cases, NOMA performs worse than OMA. Thus, we can say that by what percent NOMA is better than OMA. This paper calculates analytically the percentage by which NOMA performs better than OMA in the practical mobile communication systems. We show analytically that the percentage for NOMA being better than OMA is only the function of the ratio of the stronger channel gain variance to weaker. In result, not always, but almost time, NOMA could perform better than OMA.

On ATM networks, ABR services are provided using the remained bandwidth after allocating CBR and VBR traffic. Realtime services such as transmitting audio or video data may be provided using CBR and VBR which have a constrained transmission delay, but in these cases, the communications bandwidth may be wasted. This paper proposes an efficient bandwidth allocation algorithm to transfer real-time data using ABR service. The proposed algorithm guarantees MCR and allocates bandwidth to each connection proportional to its MCR. The proposed algorithm divides the connections in two groups - a satisfied state group and a bottlenecked state group - and enhances bandwidth utilization by allowing the remained bandwidth after allocating the connections in the satisfied state to be allocated to the connections in the bottlenecked state. Our algorithm uses a Queue control function proposed by Ghani[5] to keep the Queue length within some boundary, which makes the transmission delay constant. We simulate and compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with that of the algorithms proposed by ATM Forum[1] and Kalampoukas[2].

In this paper, we study an interference avoidance scenario in the presence of a interferer which can rapidly observe the transmit power of backscatter communications and effectively interrupt backscatter signals. We consider a power control with a sub-channel allocation to avoid interference attacks and a power-splitting ratio for backscattering and RF energy harvesting in sensors. We formulate the problem based on a Stackelberg game theory and compute the optimal transmit power, power-splitting ratio, and sub-channel allocation parameter to maximize a utility function against the interferer. We propose the utility maximization using Lagrangian dual decomposition for the backscatter communications and the interferer to prove the existence of the Stackelberg equilibrium. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithms effectively maximize the utility, compared to that of the algorithm based on the Nash game, so as to overcome a malicious interference in backscatter communications.

In part-I of the paper, two sub-channel structures, either contiguous or distributed, were considered. Modeling the SNR distribution over a sub-channel as Ricean in general, the statistical chracteristics were investigated. In this part of the paper, we develop a generalized two step channel/resource allocation algorithm, which incorporates the two statistical measurements, and analyze the spectral efficiency of OFDMA in terms of average frequency utilization for the two sub-channel structures. In OFDMA with distributed structure, the key design parameter would be the sub-channel bandwidth. To give an insight into the impact on this parameter, we show in the numerical results the frequency utilization as a function of sub-channel bandwidth normalized to coherence bandwidth. As confirmed by numerical results, for contiguous sub-channel structure, we obtain the nominal multiuser diversity gain when the sub-channel bandwidth is smaller than the coherence bandwidth and lose the gain as it is getting larger.

This paper deals with solution methods for discrete and multi-valued optimization problems. The objective function of the problem incorporates noise effects generated in case that fitness evaluation is accomplished by computer based experiments such as Monte Carlo simulation or discrete event simulation. Meta heuristics including Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO) can be used to solve these simulation based multi-valued optimization problems. In applying these population based meta heuristics to simulation based optimization problem, samples size to estimate the expected fitness value of a solution and population (particle) size in a generation (step) should be carefully determined to obtain reliable solutions. Under realistic environment with restriction on available computation time, there exists trade-off between these values. In this paper, the effects of sample and population sizes are analyzed under well-known multi-modal and multi-dimensional test functions with randomly generated noise effects. From the experimental results, it is shown that the performance of DPSO is superior to that of GA. While appropriate determination of population sizes is more important than sample size in GA, appropriate determination of sample size is more important than particle size in DPSO. Especially in DPSO, the solution quality under increasing sample sizes with steps is inferior to constant or decreasing sample sizes with steps. Furthermore, the performance of DPSO is improved when OCBA (Optimal Computing Budget Allocation) is incorporated in selecting the best particle in each step. In applying OCBA in DPSO, smaller value of incremental sample size is preferred to obtain better solutions.
