  • According to demand the increase of the rate of strength development for rapid constructions and repairs, many efforts have progressed to improve on performance of concrete. The use of regulated set cement helps make it possible to increase the rate of strength development. However it has some problems as like increasing its permeability and accelerate its long-term deterioration caused by internal and external factors. The purpose of this study is to improve the performance of regulated set cement, which mixed with the mineral admixtures. In this paper, setting time, compressive/flexural strength and chloride permeability of mortar according to the substitute ratio of SF, FA and BS in the range of $5\~20\%$ were conducted. Based on the test results, 5% substitute of silica fume for binder was showed good performance.

  • Up to now, many researches have been performed md verified that many properties of concrete can be improved by using mineral admixtures such as blast furnace slag, silica fume, and expansive admixture. But it is not clear whether there is any need for entraining air to make a high strength concrete using expansive admixture and mineral admixtures to insure enough freeze-thaw resistance. this paper presents the strength and durability properties of high strength concrete using expasive admixtures and industrial by-products. It was observed from the test results that very high strength concrete$(W/B=20\%)$ is not needed to be air entrained and high strength concrete$(W/B=30\%)$ using expansive admixture and mineral admixtures is needed to be entrained $2\~4\%$ air.

  • Recently, as structure is more higher and bigger, we need high strength and high performance concrete. Therefore it is necessary superplasticizer for high strength and high performance concrete. In this study, it is examined the properties of flow, air content and strength of concrete with polycarboxylate superplasticizer in comparison with existing superplasticizer. First, The slump loss of concrete used polycarboxylate superplasticizer showed 2cm until 120 minutes. Second, The air content loss of concrete used polycarboxylate superplasticizer showed $1\%$ until 120 minutes. Third, It is possible to manufacture $1000kgf/cm^2$ strength concrete using polycarboxylate superplasticizer with $806kg/m^3$ cement content, $18\%$ water-binder ratio, $15\%$ silica fume, $10\%$ fly-ash content.

  • The durability of concrete involves resistance to freeze-thaw action, corrosion, permeation, carbonation, chemical attack and so on. Generally, properties of concrete have been well understood under the separate action of these deterioration mechanisms. However, in practice, the degradation of concrete usually is the result of combined action of physical and chemical attack and can be accelerated by the combined action of several deterioration mechanisms. In the present study, to evaluate the combined deterioration by freeze-thaw action and seawater attack, ground granulated blast-furnace slag or silica fume concrete with water or seawater as mixing water was exposed to 300 cycles of freeze-thaw action. Tests were conducted to determined the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity and compressive strength. Furthermore, The MIP analysis were performed on the deteriorated part of concrete due to freeze-thaw action and seawater attack.

  • The construction of modern society, the use of high-strength concrete structures is becoming frequent. Admixture has been reported as a factor causing the explosion occurred. This study was experimental research on high strength concrete according to the kinds of admixture. Admixture of four different mix. fire resistance test results are outstanding when using blast furnace slag aggregate. When using silica fume spalling phenomena were most violent.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the non-destructive equation for the estimation of concrete strength by ultrasonic pulse velocity at the Age of 28day compressive strength of $600{\sim}1000kg/cm^2$. For this purpose, selected test variables were water-hinder ratio, replacement ratio of silica fume, binder content, maximum size of coarse aggregate and sand-aggregate ratio. From the results, the average increase or decrease of ultrasonic pulse velocity is 61m/sec for each 1% of moisture content. And the correlation equation between the ultrasonic pulse velocity and the compressive strength of concrete is as follows. $F_c=896.3V_p-3514$ ($R^2$ = 0.81) where, $F_c$ : compressive strength($kgf/cm^2$), $V_p$ : ultrasonic velocity(km/sec).

  • To do performance evaluations about inorganic permanent form mixed in admixture(fly ash, silica fume) and after placed concrete, it is examined reinforcement materials in the permanent form from shear strength, bond strength and flexural strength tests. In this study, permanent form was inserted with reinforcement metal fitting is strength-tested in several method. The result of this study is belows. (1) In bond strength test, Most specimens are satisfied with criterion-6 kgf/$cm^2$. (2) Irrelative with the inserted metal fitting's shape, unevenness and aggregate, Permanent form and after placed concrete have good condition in the shear strength test. (3) In flexural test, there is no drop out of permanent form. Most cracks are located in nearby the strain point.

  • A requirement of park management is to transfer the focus from emphasizing the management of public materials to providing services to visitors. Therefore, it has become indispensable to create a scheme in which residents can take management initiative. At this time, we look at Hyogo Prefectural Arimafuji Park, which encourages citizen management participation, and try to understand their system and project contents. For an initial scheme, we identify 4 elements that promoted subjective participation in a council style scheme; 1. to begin activities at the earliest possible time before opening the park, 2. to coordinate with expert(s) who take a neutral position, 3. to have places available where participants can debate on an equal footing, and 4. to plan the project while feeding back actual results.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the flow of a system that collects fumes in the plasma cutting machine widely used in industrial sites. A plan for improving the fume collection facility of an industrial plant using a large plasma cutter was investigated through flow analysis. Results show that it is effective to capture and suck fumes from a nearby cutter. If more hoods were installed near the cutter, fumes that were scattered internally could be removed effectively. In addition, if suction inflow was increased, the fumes could be removed more effectively.

  • High performance sandcretes (HPS) are new concretes characterized by particles having a diameter less than 5 mm, as well as very high mechanical strength and durability. This work consists in finding solutions to make sandcretes with good physico-mechanical and durability properties for this new generation of micro-concrete. However, upgrading ordinary sandcrete into high performance sandcrete (HPS) requires a thorough study of formulation parameters (equivalent water/binder ratio, type of cement and its dosage, kind and amount of super plasticizer, and gravel/sand ratio). This research study concerns the formulation, characterization and durability, in a sulphate environment, of a high performance sandcrete (HPS), made from local materials. The obtained results show that the rheological properties of fresh concrete and mechanical strength differ with the mineralogy, density and grain size distribution of sands and silica fume used.
