베타 및 감마선 계측용 서어베이 미터 (Beta Gamma Survey Meter)

  • G-M 계수관을 이용한 beta와 gamma 선에 민감한 survey meter에 관한 연구이다. 이 장치는 완전 transistor화 되어 있으며 건전지로 동작하게 되어 있고 2.5, 25 및 250MR/HR의 3가지의 full-scale meter range를 직독하게 되어 있다. Counting-rate meter 회로를 이루고 있는 collector 결합 단안정 multivibrator와 전원회로의 de-dc 변환로를 이루고 있는 무안정 blocking 발진기의 해석을 하였고 설계식을 유도하였다. G-M 계수관의 분해시간을 높이기 위하여 0.5v 정도의 낮은 전압으로 triggering할 수 있게 설계하였다.

  • In order to verify the effectiveness of adding viscoelastic dampers to full-scale steel frame structure on the reduction of their seismic and wind response, a experimental work was carried out. Testing and finite element modeling of stressed skin diaphragms

  • The cold formed light-gauge profiled steel sheeting can offer considerable shear resistance acting in the steel building frame. This paper conducted the full-scale test on the shear behavior of stressed skin diaphragm using profiled sheeting connected by the self-tapping screws. A three-dimensional finite element model that simulates the stressed skin diaphragm was developed. The sheet was modeled using thin element model while the supporting members were simulated using beam elements. Fasteners were represented in the numerical model as equivalent springs. A joint test program was conducted to characterize the properties of these springs and results were reported in this study. Finite element model of the full-scale test was analyzed by use of the ANSYS package, considering nonlinearity caused by the large deflection and slip of fasteners. The experimental data was compared with the results acquired by the EUR formulas and finite element analysis.

  • A new solution for the dynamic analysis of as asphalt concrete pavements under moving loads has been developed. The asphalt concrete pavement can be modeled in elastic or viscoelastic medium of multi-layered structure. The subgrade can be modeled as either a rigid base or a semi-infinite halfspace. The loads may be constant or arbitrary circular loads into one direction. The method utilizes the Complex Response Method of transient analysis with a continuum solution in the horizontal direction and a finite-element solution in the vertical direction. This proposed method incorporates such important factors as wave propagation, inertia and damping effects of the medium as well as frequency-dependent asphalt concrete properties. The proposed method has been validted with the full-scale field truck test, which was conducted on instrumented asphalt concrete section on a test track at PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. Comparison with field strain data from full-scale pavement tests has shown excellent agreement. Development of Wave Overtopping-Overflow Transition Model Based on Full-scale Experiments

  • When high waves and storm surge strike simultaneously, the characteristics of the fluid field change drastically from overtopping according to the wave runup height to overflow through a transition state that combines overtopping and overflows. However, an estimation model or evaluation method has not yet been established because there is not enough engineering data. This study developed a wave overtopping-overflow transition model based on a full-scale experiment involving wave overtopping and overflow transition, which appropriately reproduced the effect of waves or the temporal change in inundation flow. Using this model to perform a calculation for the wave overtopping and overflow transition process under typical circumstances, this study determined the wave runup height and features of the inundation flow under time series changes as an example.

  • This paper describe a (mite element computer simulation of a absorption system using full scale car crash test. The full scale test selected for this study is a 80kmh frontal, side and 25% offset impact of a 1993 Ford Taurus vehicle into a absorption system. This absorption system has external rubber and internal steel pannel. This simulation has completed for decision of these components energy absorption performance. Dynamical performance of this system and movement are obtained from this simulation. and then We can appreciate the safety of passenger from measure the vehicle C.G's acceleration.

  • The objective of the present study is to develop methodology for the assesment of combustion stability of liquid rocket injectors. To simulate actual combustion occurring inside of a thrust chamber, a full-scale injector has been employed in the study, which burns gaseous oxygen and mixture of methane and propane. The main idea of the experiment is that the mixing mechanism is considered as a dominant factor significantly affecting combustion instability in a full-scale thrust chamber. Single & multi split triplet injectors have been used with an open-end cylindrical combustion chamber. The characteristics revealed by excited dynamic pressures in gaseous combustion show degrees of relative acoustic damping depending on operating conditions. Upon test results, the direct comparison between various types of injectors can be realized for the selection of the best design among prospective injectors.

Aspects of the use of proper orthogonal decomposition of surface pressure fields

  • The technique of proper orthogonal decomposition is potentially useful in specifying the fluctuating surface pressure field around structures. However there has been a degree of controversy over whether or not the calculated modes have physical meanings. This paper addresses this issue through consideration of the results of full scale experiments, and through an analytical investigation. It is concluded that the lower, most energetic modes are likely to reflect different fluctuating flow mechanisms, although no mode is likely to be associated with just one flow mechanism or vice versa. The higher, less energetic modes are likely to represent interactions between different flow mechanisms, and to be significantly affected by the number of measurement points and measurement errors. The paper concludes with a brief description of the application of POD to the problem of building ventilation, and the calculation of cladding pressures.

  • This paper describes probabilistic characteristics of damping in a tall building based on the results of full-scale measurement. It is found, through statistical analysis of the damping data, that the probability density function(PDF) of damping at the high amplitude plateau can be well represented by Normal distribution (Gaussian distribution). A stochastic damping model is proposed to estimate amplitude-dependent damping for practical application.

  • A dynamically scaled model of the catenary with a nominal scaling factor of 18.5:1 is designed and constructed. The motivation for developing such a model is the great difficulty of making accurate measurements on the full-scale catenary and the difficulty of making experimental modifications to it. The scaled model is designed to be dynamically equivalent to the full scale catenary with respect to the mass and elastic strength. The scaled model is partially verified by comparing linear vibration and wave characteristics with those predicted by the simulation study.
