변형 2색법에 의한 예혼합기 연소의 연소가스온도 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Burnet Gas Temperature in Premized Combustion by Modified Two-Color Method)

  • The effects of equivalence ratio and pressure on burnt gas temperature in premixed fuel rich propane-oxygen-inert gas combustion are investigated over the wide ranges of equivalence ration from 1.5 to 2.7 and pressure from 0.1 to 7 MPa by using a specially designed disk -type constant-voume combustion chamber, The premixtures are simultaneously ignited by eight spark plugs located on the circumference of combustion chamber with 45 degree interals. The eight converging flames compress the end gases to high pressures. The burnt gas temperature is meausured by the nmodifie dtow-colr pyrometry method. The transmissivity in the chamber center during the final stage of combustion at the hightest pressure is meausred by in situ laser extinction method. It is found that a temperature difference between the burnt gas temperature measured by mofidied and conventrational two-color method is 10 to 20 K, but the accuracy of the modified two-color methdo is higher if the local transmissivity in observed region is uniform , and the combustion at higher pressures results gas density conditions and the burnt gas temperature increases as the volume fraction of argon is increased because the specific heat of argon is lower compared to that of nitrogen with a constant equivalence ratio.

비행용 가스발생기 모사배관 도출 및 연소불안정 제어를 위한 음향해석 (An Acoustic Analysis for the Determination of a Simulating Duct and for the Suppression of Combustion Instabilities in a Flight Model Gas Generator)

  • 고성능 로켓엔진의 터보펌프를 구동하기 위한 연료 과농 가스발생기에서 연소 불안정 발생시, 음향 모드 공진주파수를 모사하는 방법을 통하여 모사배관을 결정하였다. 관심 음향모드의 몇 파장만을 모사하여 실제 연소시험에 바로 적용할 수 있는 팎은 길이의 배관도 제시하였다. 가스발생기에서의 연소 불안정을 제어하기 위한 하나의 방안으로, 모사배관의 길이를 변경하여 분사기의 동특성과 연소실의 공진 음향 모드를 서로 분리시킴으로써 상호작용이 일어나지 않게 할 수 있다. 이러한 특성은 연소시 험을 통해 확인되었고, 이를 통하여 비행용 가스발생기의 연소시험과 연소불안정 제어를 위한 한 가지 방안으로서 모사배관을 결정하는 방법을 확립하였다.

  • 본 논문에서 연구하고자 하는 분사기는 다단 연소 사이클 엔진 연소기에 적용하는 분사기이다. 본 분사기에서 연료는 접선홀을 통해 와류 형상으로 분무되며, 예연소기에서 생성된 산화제 과잉 가스는 중앙에서 jet의 형태로 공급된다. 이러한 기체-액체 분사기의 상압/고압환경에서의 분무특성 및 분사기의 리세스에 따른 분무특성의 차이를 알아보았다. 이러한 결과들은 향후 다단 연소 사이클 엔진 개발의 기본 데이터로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • In autothermal reforming reaction, oxygen to carbon ratio (OCR) and steam to carbon ratio (SCR) are significant factors, which control temperature and carbon deposition into the reactor. The OCR is more sensitive than the SCR to affect the temperature distribution and reforming efficiency. In conventional operation, hydrocarbon fuel, steam, and oxygen was homogeneously mixed and injected into the reactor in order to get hydrogen-rich gas. The temperature was abruptly raised due to fast oxidation reaction in the former part of the reactor. Deactivation of packed catalysts can be accelerated there. In the present study, therefore, the effect of the oxygen distribution is introduced and investigated to suppress the carbon deposition and to maintain the reactor in the mild operating temperature (e.g., $700{\sim}800^{\circ}C$). In order to investigate the effect numerically, the following models are adopted; heterogeneous reaction model and two-medium model for heat balance.

  • High velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spraying coating has been used widely throughout the last 60 years mainly in defense, aerospace, and power plants. Recently this coating technique is considered as a promising candidate for the replacement of the traditional electrolytic hard chrome plating (EHC) which pollutes the environment and causes lung cancer by toxic hexa-valent $Cr^{6+}$. In this study, two kinds of cermet coatings, WC-CoCr and WC-CrC-Ni, are formed by HVOF spraying. The wear properties of coatings are evaluated comparatively by reciprocating sliding wear tests at $25^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$ respectively. Wear rates show that WC-CoCr coatings have better sliding wear resistance than WC-CrC-Ni coatings regardless of temperature due to more, compact and homogeneously distributed WC particles, less metal content, Co, Cr rich metallic bindermatrix with higher fracture strength and better adhesive strength with WC particles.

CH$_{4}$-공기 분류 확산화염의 NOx 생성특성에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical analysis of NOx formation characteristics in CH$_{4}$-air jet diffusion flame)

  • Numerical analysis was performed with multicomponent transport properties and detailed reaction mechanisms for axisymmetric 2-D CH$_{4}$ jet diffusion flame. Calculations were carried out twice with the $C_{2}$-Thermal Mechanism including $C_{2}$ and thermal NO reactions and the $C_{2}$-Full Mechanism including prompt NO reactions in addition to the above $C_{2}$-Thermal NO mechanism. The results show that the flame structures such as flame temperature, major and minor species concentration are indifferent to respective mechanisms. The production path of Thermal NO is dominant comparing with that of Prompt NO in total NO production of pure CH$_{4}$ jet diffusion flame. This is because thermal NO mechanism mainly contributes to positive formation of NO in the whole flame region, but Prompt NO mechanism contributes to negative formation in the fuel rich region. In addition, 0$_{2}$ penetration near the nozzle outlet affects the flame structures, especially N0$_{2}$ formation characteristics.

Characterisation and Durability of a Vitrified Wasteform for Simulated Chrompik III Waste

  • Legacy waste from the decommissioned A-1 nuclear power plant in the Slovak Republic is scheduled for immobilisation within a tailored alkali borosilicate glass formulation, as part of ongoing site cleanup. The aqueous durability and characterisation of a simulant glass wasteform for Chrompik III legacy waste, was investigated, including dissolution experiments up to 112 days (90℃, ASTM Type 1 water). The wasteform was an amorphous, light green glassy product, with no observed phase separation or crystalline inclusions. Aqueous leach testing revealed a suitably durable product over the timescale investigated, comparing positively to other simulant nuclear waste glasses and vitreous products tested under similar conditions. Iron and titanium rich precipitates were observed to form at the surface of monolithic samples during leaching, with the formation of an alkali deficient alteration layer behind these at later ages. Overall this glass appears to perform well, and in line with expectations for this chemistry, although longer-term testing would be required to predict overall durability. This work will contribute to developing confidence in the disposability of vitrified Chrompik legacy wastes.

케로신 연료 및 코킹에 대한 검토 (Review on Kerosene Fuel and Coking)

  • 액체산소/케로신 액체로켓엔진에서 케로신은 추진제일 뿐만 아니라 3,000 K 이상의 연소가스로부터 연소실 벽면을 보호하기 위한 냉각제 역할도 수행한다. 케로신은 냉각채널을 통과하면서 높은 온도에 노출되기 때문에 열과 관련한 화학반응이 일어나 탄소 과잉 고체가 침전되는 현상이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 케로신의 열/유체 특성 시험 데이터는 재생냉각 연소실 설계에 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 재생냉각채널과 케로신에 관련된 해외 연구를 조사하였다. 탄화수소 연료에 대한 전반적인 정보를 시작으로, 냉각채널 벽면에 발생하는 퇴적 현상, 이에 대한 원인/연구결과, 케로신 코킹 시험 장치/예방 방법 등을 체계적으로 정리하고자 하였다.

  • The steel industry accounts for about 5% of the total annual global energy consumption and more than 6% of the total anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, there is a need to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in these industries. The utilization of coke oven gas, a byproduct of the coke plant, is one of the main ways to achieve this goal. Coke oven gas used as a fuel in many steelmaking process is a hydrogen-rich gas with high energy potential, but it is commonly used as a heat source and is even released directly into the air after combustion reactions. In order to solve such resource waste and energy inefficiency, several alternatives have recently been proposed, such as separating and refining hydrogen directly from coke oven gas or converting it to syngas. Therefore, in this study, recent research trends on the separation and purification of hydrogen from coke oven gas and the production of syngas were introduced.

바이오매스(호두껍질) 혼소에 대한 연소 특성에 관한 연구 (Combustion Characteristics for Co-firing of Biomass (Walnut Shell))

  • 본 연구에서는 발전소의 혼합연료로서 바이오매스인 호두껍질(Walnut Shell)에 대한 연소특성을 조사하기 위하여 열중량 분석기(TGA)와 분류층 반응기(DTR)를 이용하여 실험을 수행하였다. 바이오매스 WS는 기존 석탄과 비교하여 낮은 온도 영역에서 활발한 연소반응을 보였고, 활성화 에너지 또한 낮은 값을 가짐으로써 연소반응속도가 더욱 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다. 바이오매스 WS와 역청탄의 혼소에 있어서 고정층 분석에서는 혼소 영향이 선형적으로 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그렇지만 분류층 반응기에서는 바이오매스 혼소율을 5%증가 시에는 UBC가 감소하다가 이후에 다시 UBC가 증가하는 Non-additive 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 바이오매스의 급격한 연소로 주위에 산소 부족현상이 생겨 석탄의 연소가 지연되는 것을 보여준다. 이 현상을 해결하기 위하여 산소를 증가시켜주었을 때 더 높은 혼소율을 성취할 수 있음을 보여주었다.
