In this study, the combustion characteristics of HTPB was studied in hybrid propulsion system. In this experiments HTPB was used as fuel, GOX was used as oxidizer. The mass flow rate of GOX was controlled by the several chocked orifices that have different diameter, and the oxidizer supply range was $13.8{\sim}42.7g/sec$. The experimental result of HTPB was compared with the other studies of HTPB, and the combustion performance of HTPB was analyzed with that of PE. As a result, the homing rate and efficiency of HTPB as fuel were better than that of PE in the same hybrid motor.

Recently, as the demand for limited resources continues to rise and problems of resource depletion rise worldwide, the importance of renewable energy is gradually increasing. In order to solve these problems, various methods such as energy conservation and alternative energy development have been suggested, and biogas, which can utilize the gas produced from biomass as fuel, is also receiving attention as the next generation of innovative renewable energy. New and renewable energy using biogas is an energy production method that is expected to be possible in large scale because it can supply energy with high efficiency in compliance with energy supply method of recycling conventional resources. In order to more efficiently produce and manage these biogas, a biogas plant has emerged. In recent years, a large number of biogas plants have been installed and operated in various locations. Organic wastes corresponding to biogas production resources in a biogas plant exist in a wide variety of types, and each of the incoming raw materials is processed in different processes. Because such a process is required, the case where the biogas plant process is inefficiently operated is continuously occurring, and the economic cost consumed for the operation of the biogas production relative to the generated biogas production is further increased. In order to solve such problems, various attempts such as process analysis and feedback based on the feedstock have been continued but it is a passive method and very limited to operate a medium/large scale biogas plant. In this paper, we propose "CNN-based production yield prediction algorithm for increasing process efficiency of biogas plant" for efficient operation of biogas plant process. Based on CNN-based production yield forecasting, which is one of the deep-leaning technologies, it enables mechanical analysis of the process operation process and provides a solution for optimal process operation due to process-related accumulated data analyzed by the automated process.
Oxy-combustion with a circulating fluidized bed (Oxy-CFBC) technology has been paid attention to cope with the climate change and fuel supply problem. In addition, Oxy-CFBC technology as one of the methods for carbon dioxide capture is an eco-friendly that can reduce air pollutants, such as $SO_2$, NO and CO through a flue gas recirculation process. The newly developed $100kW_{th}$ pilot-scale Oxy-CFBC system used for this research has been continuously utilizing to investigate oxy-combustion characteristics for various fuels, coals and biomasses to verify the possibility of fuel diversification. The anthracite is known as a low reactivity fuel due to a lot of fixed carbon and ash. Therefore, this study aims not only to improve combustion efficiency of an anthracite, but also to capture carbon dioxide. As a result, compared to air-combustion of sub-bituminous coal, oxy-combustion of anthracite could improve 2% combustion efficiency and emissions of $SO_2$, CO and NO were reduced 15%, 60% and 99%, respectively. In addition, stable operating of Oxy-CFBC could capture above 94 vol.% $CO_2$.

Recently interest in energy is becoming increasingly amplified in the world. Green energy is the buzzword of the world's business community as well as governments also leave a green energy seonbongjang of economic recovery. According to the International Institute for Energy, it will be expected to invest in the field of green energy about 7 trillion dollar traslated into 7,000 trillian won around the world by 2030. Thus production, supply, reduce and reuse policies and techniques for green energy came pouring out like a flood. But there is a limit to the fuel supply in order to produce a power generation facility and the power supply that is essential. Reducing produced power efficiently is more important than the increasing of power production. At present, using a method that controls the equipment installed by measuring the environment for efficient control of the energy management of energy-consuming devices that are in use. But the reality is that many policies of national and corporate to did not work to solve a part of the energy savings. In this paper, I proposes a smart energy management system to control the equipment by using the accumulated data obtained with minimal changes in the environment using the energy.
Through simulations and field experiment on A.C. parallel operation of both Utility Interactive Photovoltaic System and Diesel Engine Revolving Field Type Synchronous Generator, following factors have been found. First, the inverter should be operated in three modes of frequency(mode.1: ${\pm}$0.3Hz, mode.2: ${\pm}$1Hz, mode.3: ${\pm}$2Hz) as default, considering properties of operating Synchronous Generator. Second, as a result of supplying 13.5kW of residual power, it has been found that Synchronous Generator takes the power input only as reactive power, because it was electrically stable with frequency of 60.14Hz and high voltage of 222.3V even when power factor was -0.94. Besides, it was mechanically stable, too, because the quake, noise, and temperature of Synchronous Generator in this case were 7.5mm/s, 97dB, and $6^{\circ}C$ respectively, which were lower than normal load connection of 145.6kW; 11.03mm/s. Thus, load share of Revolving Field Type Synchronous Generator reduces according to the supply of Photovoltaic System to the load power. In this experiment, 200kW of Synchronous Generator and 40kW of Photovoltaic System were operated in parallel. The load share was 20% in maximum. and 11.1lit/hr of fuel was saved.
As the world-wide supply of fossil fuel sources decreases, the need for efficient energy conservation in addition to developing green energy technologies becomes critical. Wind energy is now regarded as one of the most rapidly expanding energy sources in the world. However, due to the high cost for the foundation of large turbines and the high wind speed (over 12 m/s) required, it is very difficult to establish inland wind power plants. In order to solve issues mentioned above, experiments were performed using the small wind power system operated in a low wind speed. In this research, inland wind condition was first analyzed, and 300 W and 1 kW small wind power generators were then installed on a roof and efficiencies of generating electricities were compared.

The relation between temperature and hydrogen desorption on variation in output was investigated for the metal hydride canister. For this study, an AB$_5$ type alloy were chosen as a hydrogen storage material in the metal hydride canister. And application to the single proton exchange membrane fuel cell was evaluated. As the results, the hydrogen desorption was linearly increased as the temperature was risen. In addition, metal hydride canister heating was able to correspond the variation of load as power request in the PEMFC system.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate spray characteristics of GDI injector that is economic and environment-friendly. Injector characteristics such as penetration length, spray angle and mixture formation were measured using experimental visualization technique. Especially, it has been analyzed that the influences of ambient pressure and injection pressure on penetration length and spray angle. To visualize the spray, a constant volume combustion chamber and fuel supply system have been manufactured. A high-speed camera and LED light source have been applied to obtain spray images. The experimental and visualization result shows that the penetration length is increased as decreasing ambient pressure and/or increasing injection pressure. Also, ambient pressure and injection pressure have minor effect on the spray angle variation.

Recently, the domestic and foreign power trends are the supply of high quality power and environment conservation technology based on the new energies development. So, the dispersed generation systems, such as photovoltaic, fuel cell, and battery are to be introduced in distribution systems. According to the situation change, power of high Quality and reliability are required in distribution systems with dispersed generation. Up to now, the voltage in distribution systems are regulated by ULTC of substation and pole transformer of primary feeders. These days, Step Voltage Regulator(SVR) is getting established at distribution feeders to regulate effectively voltage of primary ffeders that voltage drop exceeds $5\%$. But, because SVR is operated independently with ULTC of substation, SVR can not take play to its full effectivity. Under these circumstances, in order to deliver suitable voltages to as many customers as possible, new optimal voltage regulation algorithms are required in distribution system. So, this paper presents optimal voltage regulation algorithm to regulate voltage effectively for ULTC and SVR in distribution systems with dispersed generation systems.

Lots of Coal power plants (about 30) using bituminous coals are being run in Korea. The use of high volatile low grade sub-bituminous coal is increasingly extended because of imbalance between the worldwide coal supply and demand. Mill-fire has been an important issue since the use of such sub-bituminous coal. In existing coal plants of Korea, shutdown of coal and air supplies could be only a way, and an alternative has not been found in suppressing the mill fire. The inside fowfield in the mills has a highly fuel-rich, low temperature, and high velocity and non-reactive such that it could be a nonreactive system essentially. Nevertheless, occasional fire-occurrence could be attributed to the existence of an ignition source. However it has not been so far investigated in detail. The current work has a focus on suppressing the mile fire via some parametric experimental study such as effects of temperature, residence time, ignition source, and inert gas mixing. The results show that an small amount of $CO_2$- or $N_2$-mixing with air is very effective in suppressing fire formation even at high temperatures or flying sparks. The results suggest that exhaust gas recirculation into the mill should be an alternative to suppress mill fire.
