Modeling of Solar/Hydrogen/DEGS Hybrid System for Stand Alone Applications of a Large Store

  • The market for distributed power generation based on renewable energy is increasing, particularly for standalone mini-grid applications in developing countries with limited energy resources. Stand-alone power systems (SAPS) are of special interest combined with renewable energy design in areas not connected to the electric grid. Traditionally, such systems have been powered by diesel engine generator sets (DEGS), but also hybrid systems with photovoltaic and/or wind energy conversion systems (WECS) are becoming quite common nowadays. Hybrid energy systems can now be used to generate energy consumed in remote areas and stand-alone microgrids. This paper describes the design, simulation and feasibility study of a hybrid energy system for a stand-alone power system. A simulated model is developed to investigate the design and performance of stand-alone hydrogen renewable energy systems. The analysis presented here is based on transient system simulation program (TRNSYS) with realistic ventilation load of a large store. Design of a hybrid energy system is site specific and depends on the resources available and the load demand.

Boost Type ZVS-PWM Chopper-Fed DC-DC Power Converter with Load-Side Auxiliary Resonant Snubber and Its Performance Evaluations

  • This paper presents a high-frequency boost type ZVS-PWM chopper-fed DC-DC power converter with a single active auxiliary edge-resonant snubber at the load stage which can be designed for power conditioners such as solar photovoltaic generation, fuel cell generation, battery and super capacitor energy storages. Its principle operation in steady-state is described in addition to a prototype setup. The experimental results of boost type ZVS-PWM chopper proposed here, are evaluated and verified with a practical design model in terms of its switching voltage and current waveforms, the switching v-i trajectory and the temperature performance of IGBT module, the actual power conversion efficiency, and the EMI of radiated and conducted emissions, and then discussed and compared with the hard switching scheme from an experimental point of view. Finally, this paper proposes a practical method to suppress parasitic oscillation due to the active auxiliary resonant switch at ZCS turn-off mode transition with the aid of an additional lossless clamping diode loop, and can be reduced the EMI conducted emission.

  • 본 논문에서는 용량증대의 편리성, 유지 보수의 수월성, 전원에 따른 PCS 모듈화를 위해 연료전지와 같은 입력전원 증가 시 동일한 전력분배를 위한 PCS의 병렬운전기법이 적용된 연료전지 발전시스템을 개발하였다. 또한 다중 연료전지 발전시스템 PCS의 기생 성분의 영향을 분석하고 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 연료전지 발전시스템을 제안하였다. 제안된 시스템에서 DC-DC 컨버터는 인덕터 에너지 저장형인 Flyback 컨버터와 커패시터 에너지 저장형인 SEPIC 컨버터를 변압기를 이용하여 2차측 출력을 결합한 SEPIC-Flyback 컨버터로 스위치의 온 오프시 모두 승압이 가능하여 저전압/대전류의 특징을 갖는 연료전지 시스템에 적합하다. 이를 계통연계형 인버터 시스템에 적용하여 최적화된 연료전지 발전시스템을 제안하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 제어방식의 DC-DC컨버터를 이용한 계통연계형 전력변환기를 제안한다. 제안하는 전력변환기는 3상 전류형 능동클램프 DC-DC컨버터와 계통연계형 3상 인버터로 구성되어 있다. 제안하는 전력변환기의 동작을 분석하기 위해 PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용하여 연료전지의 출력 동특성을 나타내는 모델과 제안하는 전력변환기의 모델을 개발하였다. 시뮬레이션모델의 검증이 가능한 하드웨어장치의 기본설계를 실시하였다. 제안하는 전력변환기는 정격출력에서 저전압특성을 갖는 연료전지를 전력계통에 고효율로 연계하는데 유용할 것으로 보인다.

  • 본 논문에서는 연료전지 태양광 복합발전시스템의 2가지 전력제어 알고리즘을 제안하고 각각의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 태양광의 MPPT제어 위치에 따라 2가지 전력제어 알고리즘이 적용되었으며 각 알고리즘에 따른 MPPT성능, DC link 안정성과 출력전력 특성이 비교 분석되었으며 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 2010년 민간 기업의 1,000 MW 규모 석탄 화력 발전소가 전력수급 기본계획에 최초로 반영된 이래로 이들이 해결해야 하는 가장 큰 난제는 RPS 제도 도입과 그에 따른 REC 공급의무이다. 만약 민간 석탄 발전소들이 REC 공급의무를 불이행하게 된다면, 막대한 과징금이 부과되기 때문에 이들의 전력생산 비용함수는 이를 반영하여 수정되어야 한다. 더 나아가 REC 공급의무는 발전량에 따라 결정되기 때문에, 민간 발전사업자가 자신의 REC 공급의무 이행능력이 부족하다고 판단할 경우 자체적으로 발전량을 감축하여 과징금을 낮추는 전략을 선택할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 RPS 제도 도입에 따른 민간 석탄 발전소의 비용함수 변화와 이윤(수익) 극대화를 위하여 발전량을 감소시키는 메커니즘을 분석하였다.

  • Molten Carbonate Fuel cell is a promising new type electric power generation system which can achieve high efficiency, lower matrrial cost and high operating temperature Making internal reforming possible. Although the development of the MCEC is progressing rapidly toward commercialization, two important tchological problems such as dissolution of NiO cathode and not corrosion of metallic separator plate must be resolved. Because MCFC is operated at $650^{\circ}C$ and the electrolyte is very corrosive, corrosion-resistance of separator plated against oxidation abd molten carbonate is required. Al-coating on separator material for corrosion-resistance was carried out by painting, thermal spraying. hot dipping and vacuum vapour deposition. The corrosion of Al-coated STS 316S and 316L in molten carbonate at $700^{\circ}C$was studied. Vacuum vapour deposition and thermal spraing for Al-coating on STS 310S and 316L were the most effective methods for protecting thestainless steel corrosion in molten carbonate.

  • This paper is to study on the step-up DC-DC converter for power system which yields output characteristics of low voltage and high current, such as fuel cell generation system. DC-AC-DC scheme is suggested for high ratio of voltage conversion. Three phase MOSFET-SPWM inverter is adopted for intermediate AC conversion and inverter output frequency is chosen at 400[Hz] in order to reduce the size of magnetic circuit and DC filter. Since control strategy which combines voltage controller with current controller in parallel is used, good output performance is obtained both in steady state and in transient state like load variation, not only in single unit operation but also in parallel operation.
