바이오부탄올, 바이오에탄올 혼합비율에 따른 연료적 특성 연구 (Study on Fuel Characteristics Depending on Mixing Ratio of Bio-Butanol and Bio-Ethanol)

  • Korea, which has a high dependency on energy imports, is greatly affected by fluctuations in international oil prices. In order to offset these effects, various policies such as 'diversification of energy sources' and 'energy mix' are being pursued. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is a policy promoted for this purpose, and a compulsory mixing system is applied only to the diesel. In order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels in various countries, they are concentrating on the dissemination of bio-alcohol as well as bio-diesel, and commercialization through various verification. In this study, evaluation of domestic materials and vehicles was carried out to promote domestic bio alcohol fuel. We analyzed the fuel characteristics of domestic quality standard items by mixing them with gasoline of automobile at a certain mixing ratio (0%, 3%, 6%, and 10%).

  • With rising fuel costs and the depletion of fossil fuels, electric vehicles of high efficiency has been increasing interest. although high-performance battery continually is developing, Electric vehicles is not satisfied with the characteristics of the environment. In this study, By using the current fuel economy testing methods(5-cycle test), until the fully discharged battery electric vehicles is evaluated for a variety of environmental and operating conditions. As a result, Electric vehicles showed a low energy consumption efficiency in low temperature and rapid acceleration, deceleration in the operating environment compared with normal temperature.

  • A novel torrefaction process is suggested to improve energy efficiency and to produce high quality biomass fuel. Major developments for novel torrefaction process are as follows. To maximize the energy efficiency in heat transfer, flue gas is directly used for heat source in the torrefier. To accomplish the oxygen free environment in the torrefaction reactor, a burner is developed and it can be runned with fuel rich state. To use the calorific gases produced from torrefier, another burner is developed to combust them. In the test, the novel torrefaction process leads low energy consumption and the quality of torrefied fuel becomes better.

  • In the iron ore sinter process, temperature distribution pattern in sintering bed is related with productivity and quality of sintered ore. Evenly heat distribution make the uniform quality of sintered ore but in normal operating condition, upper part of bed has lack of heat and scarce quality of sintered ore, thus yeild rate is decreased and productivity is diminished. Therefore, using the additional fuel in the upper part of bed is considered and effect of fuel is discussed. (max. 80 words).

옥탄가 차이가 연소특성 및 차량 성능에 미치는 영향 연구 (A study on the effect of Octane-Number on combustion characteristics and vehicle performance)

  • 본 연구에서는 옥탄가에 따른 연소특성 및 차량 성능에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 옥탄가 차이가 있는 두 연료를 선정하여 연소특성 및 배출가스, 연비, 가속성 실험을 수행하였다. 우선, 연소특성 실험을 위해 단기통 엔진을 사용하였으며, 시중에 유통되는 연료 중 옥탄가가 다른 두 연료를 선정하여 수행하였다. 단기통 실험은 각 연료에 맞는 점화시기 및 공연비제어를 통해 점화시기를 점차 진각 시켰을 때 나타나는 연소 특성을 살펴보았으며, 그에 따른 출력 및 배출가스, 연소압력 등을 통해 옥탄가에 의한 연소 상관성을 살펴보았다. 또한, 실제 차량을 통해 옥탄가 차이에 대한 연비 변화를 비교해 보았으며, 가속성 시험을 통해 고성능 요구 구간에 대한 옥탄가의 영향성을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 점화시기를 진각시킴에 따라 높은 옥탄가의 연료가 다소 안정된 연소특성을 보여주었으며, 가속성, 출력시험에서는 약간의 증가를 보였다. 그러나 두 연료 모두 도심 및 고속도로를 모사한 현행 연비모드에서 큰 차이를 보이지 않음에 따라 현재 판매되고 있는 차량의 운행 조건에서는 고옥탄가 연료가 연비에 미치는 영향은 미미한 것으로 나타났다.

누적 주행거리에 따른 플러그인 하이브리드 자동차의 연비 특성 연구 (Study on Fuel Economy Characteristics of Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle by Cumulative Distance)

  • Electric vehicles are taken a long time to charge and are restricted driving where charging infrastructure was not sufficiently constructed. The vehicle developed to solve these problems is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. It is possible to drive a certain distance by using electric motor and when the battery runs out, it operate the engine. Plug-in hybrid vehicle have a complicated structure and a lot of parts comparing a general vehicle because the electric parts and the internal combustion engine are installed together. Therefore, as the aging (mileage) of the plug-in hybrid vehicle, the influence which change of fuel consumption is expected to be larger than a general vehicle, but an experimental data are lacking. In this paper, we cumulate a mileage of the plug-in hybrid vehicle about 15,000 km and measured the fuel economy when the cumulated distance reached within 160 km, 6,500 km, 15,000 km respectively, by using domestic public test method. For measuring fuel economy of the vehicle, CD mode (driving distance on a single charge) which use only motor and the CS mode which operate motor and combustion engine were measured respectively. As a result, the fuel economy slightly increased at cumulated mileage of 6,500 km compared to the 160 km and the fuel economy of 15,000 km was similar to 160 km.

  • Data mining is the process of finding and analyzing data from a big database and summarizing it into useful information for a decision-making. A variety of data mining techniques have been being used for wide range of industries. One application of those is especially so for gathering meaningful information from process data in manufacturing factories for quality improvement. The purpose of this paper is to provide a methodology to improve manufacturing quality of fuel tanks which are auto-parts. The methodology is to analyse influential attributes and establish a model for optimal manufacturing condition of fuel tanks to improve the quality using decision tree, association rule, and feature selection.

연료유 공정설계를 통한 선박 및 함정의 기본품질 적용 가능성 연구 (Feasibility Study of Fuel Property for Fuel Processing Design on Ship and Warship)

  • 국제해사기구를 통해 연료유 품질향상 및 배출가스 저감에 대한 논의가 지속되어져 왔다. 국제적으로 가장 큰 관심사 중 하나인 연료유 품질에 대한 사항은 황 함유량 기준이 현행 3.5%에서 2020년까지 0.5%로 한층 더 강화된 규정을 적용하게 되면서 그 관심이 더 증폭되었다. 즉, 연료유의 기본품질은 국내외적인 연료유 정보, 기본성상, 실선 및 함정의 적용을 위한 특성간의 상관성을 포함한 정보사항까지 요구하게 되었다. 이와 관련하여, 국제사회는 연료유의 효율성과 경제성과 관련된 품질 가이드라인의 필요성을 요구하게 되었다. 이러한 흐름과 관련하여, 본 논문에서는 ISO 8217에 의한 기본 연료유 품질분석 결과를 제시하고, 연료의 점화성, 분산성, 기타특성에 대해서 분석하였다. 또한, 실험실 규모의 희석제의 전 후 데이터 결과값이 선박 및 함정의 운항에 적용 가능한 것인지, 기본품질의 상관성이 실선 및 함정에서의 연료의 효율성과 직접적으로 연관성이 있는지 정량분석을 통해서 찾고자 하였다. 물론, 현재의 연료유의 기본품질에 대한 규격이 일반적으로 통용되고 있음에도 불구하고, 연료유의 성상과 조성이 매우 복잡하여 그 기본품질에 대한 해석이 매우 어려운 것은 기본규격의 범위를 벗어나는 경우가 많이 존재하기 때문이다. 결과적으로, 연료유의 기본품질과 선박에서의 운항최적화, 함정에서의 연료 효율이라는 측면에서 연료유의 기본품질에 대해서 다양한 인자들을 분석하였고, 희석에 따른 그 기준의 적용 범위에 대해서 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.

Power Flow Control of Grid-Connected Fuel Cell Distributed Generation Systems

  • This paper presents the operation of Fuel Cell Distributed Generation(FCDG) systems in distribution systems. Hence, modeling, controller design, and simulation study of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell(SOFC) distributed generation(DG) system are investigated. The physical model of the fuel cell stack and dynamic models of power conditioning units are described. Then, suitable control architecture based on fuzzy logic and the neural network for the overall system is presented in order to activate power control and power quality improvement. A MATLAB/Simulink simulation model is developed for the SOFC DG system by combining the individual component models and the controllers designed for the power conditioning units. Simulation results are given to show the overall system performance including active power control and voltage regulation capability of the distribution system.

  • Electric or hydrogen energy source is expected to solve a various issues including energy security and exhaust pollution. However, it is required a lot of time and a variety of development to apply for commercialization. Therefore, it is needed to translation fuels between the future and the present. DME (Dimethyl Ether) can play a reduce exhaust emission from medium- to heavy-duty engines that are mostly used in commercial sector. It have applied to the DME fuel as a various alternative fuel including power generation in many countries. Especially, it is necessary to secure the energy of energy-poor areas that are widely distributed around the world. And Korea also has the energy-poor areas due to geographical characteristics. These areas has been covered by their own energy through some small diesel generators, diesel boiler etc. If DME fuels are supplied in new demand such as rural sector with energy poor area, DME fuel will be available in the wider sector. In this study, it investigated performance and emission characteristics of agricultural generator and air heater using DME fuel. So the existing equipment of generator and air heater was modified to apply DME fuel. And combustion characteristics and properties of exhaust gas according to the contents of the DME fuel were evaluated. DME fuel showed a potential application in agricultural generator and air heater.
