플라즈마 EGR 조합시스템 터보 인터쿨러 ECU 커먼레일 디젤기관의 성능 및 $NO_x{\cdot}THC$ 배출물 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Performance and $NO_x{\cdot}THC$ Emissions in Turbo Intercooler ECU Common-rail Diesel Engines with a Combined Plasma EGR System)

  • The aim in this study is to develop the combined EGR system with a non-thermal plasma reactor for reducing exhaust emissions and improving fuel economy in turbo intercooler ECU common-rail diesel engines. At the first step, in this paper, the characteristics of performance and $NO_x{\cdot}THC$ emissions under four kinds of engine loads are experimentally investigated by using a four-cycle, four-cylinder, direct injection type, water-cooled turbo intercooler ECU common-rail diesel engine with a combined plasma exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) system operating at three kinds of engine speeds. The EGR system is used to reduce $NO_x$ emissions, and the non-thermal plasma reactor and turbo intercooler system are used to reduce THC emissions. The plasma system is a flat-to-flat type reactor operated by a plasma power supply. The fuel is sprayed by pilot and main injections at the variable injection timing between BTDC $15^{\circ}$ and ATDC $1^{\circ}$ according to experimental conditions. It is found that the specific fuel consumption rate with EGR is increased, but the fuel economy is better than that of mechanical injection type diesel engine as compared with the same output. Results show that $NO_x$ emissions are decreased, but THC emissions are increased, as the EGR rate is elevated. $NO_x$ and THC emissions are also slightly decreased as the applied electrical voltage of the non-thermal plasma reactor is elevated. Thus one can conclude that the influence of EGR in $NO_x$ and THC emissions is larger than that of the non-thermal plasma reactor, but THC emissions are greatly influenced by the non-thermal plasma reactor as the EGR rate is elevated.

100kW급 연료전지 열관리 시스템 실도로 운전조건 해석적 연구 (Analytic study on thermal management operating conditions of balance of 100kW fuel cell power plant for a fuel cell electric vehicle)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 100kW급 연료전지 시스템의 열관리 성능을 실도로 운전조건에서 분석하여, 성능 해석 모델링을 개발하는 것이다. 개발된 모델을 적용하여, 열관리 시스템의 운전조건 변화에 따른 성능 변화를 고찰하고자 한다. 해석 모델링은 핵심부품들에 대한 성능 평가 데이터를 바탕으로, 성능에 영향을 주는 변수들로 개발하였다. 개발된 연료전지 열관리 시스템 해석 모델링으로 다양한 실차 운전조건에서의 최적 열관리 시스템에 대한 전력소비량을 분석하였다. 주요하게, 연료전지 열관리시스템 핵심부품(워터펌프, 냉각 팬, 3 Way Valve, 라디에이터)에 대한 성능 특성 분석 후 모델링을 진행하였다. 개발된 모델링으로 운전조건에 따른 유량 예측을 하였고, 실험값과 예측값과의 비교분석을 통하여서, 해석 모델링에 대한 검증을 진행하였다. 과도해석을 통하여서, 냉시동시 냉각수 온도가 특정온도까지의 소요시간을 예측하였다. 스택 운전조건에서 스택 입출구 온도가 적정 수준에서 움직이기 위한 열관리 시스템 운전조건에 대한 예측을 진행하였다. 그 결과를 바탕으로, 소모전력과 열방출량과의 비교분석을 하였다. 개발된 해석 모델링은 핵심부품들의 성능 변화시 연료전지 시스템 운전에 대한 영향도를 분석할 수 있도록 활용할 예정이다.

한국의 경제성장, 전력소비, CO2 배출 및 외국인직접투자 유입 간 인과관계 분석 (An Analysis on Causalities Among GDP, Electricity Consumption, CO2 Emission and FDI Inflow in Korea)

  • 본 논문은 한국을 대상으로 1976년부터 2014년까지 경제성장, 전력소비, $CO_2$ 배출과 외국인직접투자(FDI) 유입 간 인과관계를 단위근 검정, 공적분 검정, 벡터오차수정모형(VECM)을 적용하여 분석한다. 분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경제성장과 전력소비 간에는 장기적으로 양방향의 인과관계가 나타나, 상호관계를 고려하지 않은 전력소비절약정책은 경제성장에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, $CO_2$ 배출은 경제성장에 대한 단방향의 장 단기적인 인과관계와 전력소비에 대한 단방향의 장기적인 인과관계를 나타내, $CO_2$ 배출 감축정책이 경제성장과 전력소비에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, FDI 유입은 경제성장에 대해 단방향의 장기적인 인과관계를, 전력소비에 대해 단방향의 장 단기적인 인과관계를 나타내, FDI 유입이 상대적으로 저렴한 전력소비비용에 기반을 둔 것으로 분석되었다. 반면, FDI 유입은 $CO_2$ 배출에 대해서는 인과관계가 없는 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 서비스 산업 중심으로 이루어지는 FDI의 특성에 따른 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 네 변수 간 인과관계들을 고려할 때, 능동적인 전력수요관리를 위한 기술개발의 확대와 화석연료에서 신재생에너지로의 신중한 전환을 위한 정책 등이 모색되어야 한다. 또한 FDI 유치의 증대에 대응하여 에너지절약시설 투자 및 설치를 통해 전력소비 감축을 유도할 필요가 있다.

  • Photovoltaic is an attractive technology to remote power applications, because of its reliability, low maintenance, and zero fuel requirements. In this paper represents residential PV system based on BESS(battery energy storage system) for managing the electric power, a pattern of daily operation considering the load characteristics of the house, the generation characteristics of PV power, and utility power leveling. For apply to control algorithm, we consider the load on monthly power consumption trend and daily usage pattern. As for the control of the proposed system, to increase the conversion efficiency of the PV power, bidirectional converter is used for MPPT and SPWM inverter. An experimental system is implemented, and some experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • The characteristics of diesel spray have effect on the engine Performance such as power. fuel consumption and emissions. Therefore, This study was Performed to investigate the effect of various injection parameters. In this study. the experiment is performed by using the high temperature and high pressure chamber. Spray behaviors are visualized by using the high speed camera and spray angle. Penetration etc. are measured. Experimental results are summarized as follows ; 1) Correlations of spray Penetration is expressed as follows $$0 $$t_b 2) Correlations of spray Angle is expressed as follows $$T_a=293K \;;\; tan({\theta}/2)=0.59({\rho}_a/{\rho}_f)^{0.437}$$ $$T_a=473K\;;\; tan({\theta}/2)=0.588({\rho}_a/{\rho}_f)^{0.404}$$ 3) The measured macro characteristics - spray tip penetration and spray angle agreed well with established correlations.

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) variables on performance and emission characteristics in a 2-liter 4-cylinder spark-ignition LPG fuelled engine. The effects of EGR on the reduction of thermal loading at exhaust manifold were also investigated because the reduced gas temperature is desirable for the reliability of an engine in light of both thermal efficiency and material issue of exhaust manifold. The steady-state tests show that the brake thermal efficiency increased and the brake specific fuel consumption decreased with the increase of EGR rate in hot EGR and with the decrease of EGR temperature in case of cooled EGR, while the stable combustion was maintained. The increase of EGR rate or the decrease of EGR temperature results in the reduction of NOx emission even in the increase of HC emission. Furthermore, decreasing EGR temperature by $180^{\circ}C$ enabled the reduction of exhaust gas temperature by $15^{\circ}C$ in cooled EGR test at 1600rpm/370kPa BMEP operation, and consequently the reduction of thermal load at exhaust. The optimization strategy of EGR application is to be discussed by the investigation on the effect of geometrical characteristics of EGR-supplying pipe line.

직접분사식 가솔린 선회분사기 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Gasoline Direct Swirl Injector)

  • The Gasoline Direct Injection(GDI) system has been highlighted due to the improvement of fuel consumption and the control of exhaust emission from gasoline engines. The GDI system includes a high injection pressure, smaller mean diameter, good spray characteristics and stability. We were interested in the development for gasoline direct swirl injector(GDSI) in which the swirler is specially designed with an incident angle. Nymerical analysis was utilized to investigate the internal flow of GDSI with a goal to determine the swirl incident angle and needle lift. Accordingly, it describes characteristics of a GDSI in which the flowrate and spray characteristics are satisfied. especially the spray tip penetration decreases, compared with other type GDI, mean diameter of droplets is from 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ to 25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and spray angle ranges from 64$^{\circ}$to 66$^{\circ}$.

  • Many researches have been carried out to reduce the emission levels and lower the fuel consumption in SI engines. Recently electronically controlled injection system is widely adapted to a passenger car to achieve these goals. Throttle body is also an important factor which influences on the emissions and engine power. In this study we redesigned a throttle body and conducted an experimental study to see the effects on engine performance and emission characteristics. We could find that idle speed control(ISC) showed stable operation characteristics as the cooling water temperature varied. And CO and HC emissions also satisfied the regulation limit.

  • Many research studies have been carried out related to saving energy and environmental pollution in the field of construction machinery. The best solution for reducing the related environmental pollution is to reduce fuel consumption by upgrading the energy efficiency of machinery used in this field. An efficiency upgrade in the field of construction machinery would mean minimizing the pressure loss in hydraulic pipe lines or achieving optimal operating conditions while responding to a load. One way to achieve this is to make an equivalent circuit, like an electrohydrostatic actuator, or to improve the spool type valve using the 4/3 way method. This study deals with an electrohydraulic proportional flow control valve. SimulationX software is used as a simulation tool for analyzing the dynamic characteristics. The analysis results, including the performance and characteristics of design parameters, are discussed and the validity of the theoretical analysis is also evaluated.

  • Removal of particles at rich $CO_2$ condition has been important in the gas cleaning for $CO_2$ capture in Oxy-fuel combustion. Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) have been widely used to remove particles in exhaust gases from present air combustion. However, few studies on characteristics of ESPs under a $CO_2$ rich gas condition have been conducted. In this study, we investigated integration of electrostatic precipitators (ESP) for removing submicron particles along with corona discharge characteristics and collection efficiency of submicron particles at $CO_2$ rich condition. The overall performance of ESP is represented by collection efficiency as function of energy consumption. The experiment results showed that higher the concentration of $CO_2$ gas, the corona discharge currents were lower at the same applied voltages and the spark over occurred at lower voltages, and the collection efficiency of submicron particles under 50, 80% $CO_2$ conditions was much lower than that under 100% Air.
