  • It is estimated that the world market size of the outsourcing of information system will be 780 billions in 2004, and that of ASP, one of outsourcing markets, will be 24 billions in 2005. The domestic outsourcing market also has 6 times grown in 2001 compared to the size in 2000. However, there have been only a few systematic researches about information system outsourcing and ASP in Korea. Though the importance of ASP has been recognized, no business model has been examined. So, this research was done to survey the outsourcing of information system and the meaning/present status of ASP, and to consider several factors to successfully introduce this service to companies. Especially, this research focused on ASP.

  • This paper seeks to recommend strategic policy options geared towards enhancing sophistication level of Ulsan City's major export industries in the Republic of Korea. Ulsan's major export industries, including shipbuilding, automobile and petrochemical industries, turn out to be based mostly on low to medium technology with low R&D intensity suggesting relatively low level of product sophistication. Using a recent Eurostat high-tech industry classification table which suggests 9 high-tech industries, the paper identifies Ulsan's chemical industry as the only RCA industry. Focusing on chemical industry products at HS 6-digit level, specific products are identified at the efficiency frontier for future policy considerations.

  • The basic purpose of the current study is to compute the numerical analysis of heat source/sink for Darcy-Forchheimer three dimensional nanofluid flow with gyrotactic microorganism by rotatable disk via porous media under the slip conditions. Due to nanoparticles, random and thermophoretic motion phenomenon occurs. The governing mathematical model is handled numerically by shooting method. Additionally, the characteristics of velocities, mass, heat, motile microorganisms and associated parameters are thoroughly analyzed via plots and tables. Different physical parameters like Forchheimer number, slip parameters like velocity, porosity parameter, Prandtl number, Brownian number, thermophoresis parameter, heat sink/source parameter, bioconvected Rayleigh number, buoyancy parameteron dimensionless velocities, temperature. Approximate values of Sherwood microorganism are analyzed.

  • An analysis of the Poisson's ratios influence of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) based on Sander's shell theory is carried out. The effect of Poisson's ratio, boundary conditions and different armchairs SWCNTs is discussed and studied. The Galerkin's method is applied to get the eigen values in matrix form. The obtained results shows that, the decrease in ratios of Poisson, the frequency increases. Poisson's ratio directly measures the deformation in the material. A high Poisson's ratio denotes that the material exhibits large elastic deformation. Due to these deformation frequencies of carbon nanotubes increases. The frequency value increases with the increase of indices of single walled carbon nanotubes. The prescribe boundary conditions used are simply supported and clamped simply supported. The Timoshenko beam model is used to compare the results. The present method should serve as bench mark results for agreeing the results of other models, with slightly different value of the natural frequencies.

  • The characteristics of motile microorganism and three dimensional Darcy-Forchheimer nanofluid flow by a porous rotatable disk with heat generation/absorption is reported. Thermophoretic and Brownian motion aspects are included by utilizing Buongiorno model. Moreover, slip conditions are considered on velocity, thermal, concentration and microorganism. Shooting procedure is implemented to find the numerical results of physical quantities are evaluated parametrically. The different physical parameters like heat sink/source parameter, thermal, Brownian number, thermophoresis parameter, concentration, Peclet number, bioconvected Lewis number, microorganism on concentration and density of motile microorganism distributions is considered. Graphs of concentration and microorganism are plotted to examine the influence of distinct prominent flow parameters.

  • In this paper, the analytic solution has been found by using truncation approach. With the help of suitable substitution, different physical parameters are yielded in their non-dimensional form. The governing boundary layer partial differential equations are reduced to a set of ordinary ones by using appropriate similarity transformations. The velocity profile across the domain have also been taken into account. The effect normal velocity profiles buoyancy parameter, slip parameter, shrinking parameter, Casson fluid parameter on the heat profile. It is found that the normal velocity profiles rise with the buoyancy parameter and for the slip parameter. It is observed that the normal velocity profile decreases with the increase of shrinking parameter. The reverse behiour is found for the Casson fluid parameter. The results are numerically computed, analyzed and discussed. For the efficiency of present model, the results are compared with earlier investigations.

  • The continuous elements method, also known as the dynamic stiffness method, is effective for solving structural dynamics problems, especially over a large frequency range. Before applying this method to fluid-structure interactions, it is advisable to check its validity for pure acoustics, without considering the different coupling parameters. This paper describes a procedure for taking wave propagation into account in the formulation of a Dynamic Stiffness Matrix. The procedure is presented in the context of the harmonic response of acoustic pressure. This development was validated by comparing the harmonic response calculations performed using the continuous element model with the analytical solution. In addition, this paper illustrates the application of this method to a simple compressible flow problem, since it has been applied solely to structural problems to date.

  • This study was performed to suggest a new efficiency measurement indicator is necessary for evaluating management efficiency of food service operations in contract-managed foodservice companies, to distinguish efficient food service providers and inefficient ones by measuring comparative efficiency among food service operations, and to provide guidance for effective management through showing benchmarking targets for improving inefficient food service providers. The subjects of this study were the 93 B&I foodservice Operations of a domestic contract food service company. The analysis was conducted using CCR model in DEA model. A software, 'Frontier analyst', was used for the analysis. Based on the results derived from comparison of efficiency evaluation classified by providers with use of DEA, it was possible to identify efficient food providers and inefficient providers, and subsequently provide benchmarking guidelines for improvement of the inefficient groups. In analyzing the differences between the results of DEA efficiency evaluation by detailed operation status of food service providers, there was significant difference of efficiency outcomes in terms of contract types, while there was no significant difference in terms of business condition.

  • The shape optimization of an airfoil has been performed for an incompressible viscous flow. In this study, Pareto frontier sets, which are global and non-dominated solutions, can be obtained without various weighting factors by using the multi-objective genetic algorithm An NACA0012 airfoil is considered as a baseline model, and the profile of the airfoil is parameterized and rebuilt with four Bezier curves. Two curves, front leading to maximum thickness, are composed of five control points and the rest, from maximum thickness to tailing edge, are composed of four control points. There are eighteen design variables and two objective functions such as the lift and drag coefficients. A generation is made up of forty-five individuals. After fifteenth evolutions, the Pareto individuals of twenty can be achieved. One Pareto, which is the best of the . reduction of the drag furce, improves its drag to $13\%$ and lift-drag ratio to $2\%$. Another Pareto, however, which is focused on increasing the lift force, can improve its lift force to $61\%$, while sustaining its drag force, compared to those of the baseline model.

  • The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is known for its role in perception of nociceptive signals and the associated emotional responses. Recent optogenetic studies, involving modulation of neuronal activity in the ACC, show that the ACC can modulate mechanical hyperalgesia. In the present study, we used optogenetic techniques to selectively modulate excitatory pyramidal neurons and inhibitory interneurons in the ACC in a model of chronic inflammatory pain to assess their motivational effect in the conditioned place preference (CPP) test. Selective inhibition of pyramidal neurons induced preference during the CPP test, while activation of parvalbumin (PV)-specific neurons did not. Moreover, chemogenetic inhibition of the excitatory pyramidal neurons alleviated mechanical hyperalgesia, consistent with our previous result. Our results provide evidence for the analgesic effect of inhibition of ACC excitatory pyramidal neurons and a prospective treatment for chronic pain.
