띠형 섬유보강재의 크리프 특성 평가 (Assessments of Creep Properties of Strip Type fiber Reinforcement)

  • 국내에 보강토 옹벽이 도입된지 20여 년이 다 되어가고, 많은 구조물들이 시공되었다. 특히, 콘크리트 패널식 전면체와 섬유보강재를 적용하는 시스템은 국내에 가장 널리 알려진 공법이다. 이 공법의 섬유보강재는 고강도 폴리에스테르 섬유와 LDPE 피복층을 갖는 구조를 가지고 있으며, 섬유보강재를 이용한 설계에서는 몇가지 합리적이지 못한 부분이 존재해 왔다. 설계인자의 결정이 선행된 외국데이터를 기준으로 하여 간접적인 방법에 의해 이루어졌으며 보강재의 장기크리프 거동에 대해서도 마찬가지로 인용된 자료를 이용하여 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실내시험을 통하여 직접적으로 섬유보강재의 설계인자를 도출하고자 하였으며, 그 결과, 설계연한동안 예상되는 크리프 허용강도는 최대파단강도의 약 60%였으며 크리프 감소계수는 1.67로 나타났다.

화강토와 보강재 경계면에서의 마찰계수에 관한 연구 (The Friction Coefficients of Interfaces between Weathered Granite Soil and Reinforcements)

  • 다양한 입도 분포의 화강암 풍화토(화강토)에 대하여 각종 보강재와의 경계면 마찰계수를 얻기 위하여 직접전단시험을 수행하였다. 이 직접전단시험에 사용한 보강재는 강재편평대상보강재 (smooth steel strip)와 표면이 거친 합성형 Paraweb(friction tie) 및 폴리에스터 직포(woven geotextile) 등이다. 함수비 변화에 따라 화강토의 전단강도가 변화하는 점을 감안하여 현장조건 중 최악의 상태인 포화도 100%로 하였으며, 직접전단시험의 특성상 배수조건을 전제로 하였다. 또한 현장의 다짐 효과에 대한 영향을 고려하여 수정다짐 95% 조건을 적용하였다. 그 결과 미세립자 함유율이 클 수록 마찰계수비가 증가하며, 표면이 거친 보강재(friction tie and geoteztile)가 표면이 편평한 강재 보강재(smooth steel strip)에 비하여 마찰계수비가 매우 크게 나타남을 발견하였다. 이에 따라 배수상태를 유지하고 표면이 거친 보강재를 사용한다면 미세립자 함유량이 36% 정도인 화강토일지라도 보강토 뒤채움재료로 활용이 가능하다.

Strut-tie model evaluation of behavior and strength of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams

  • To date, many studies have been conducted for the analysis and design of reinforced concrete members with disturbed regions. However, prestressed concrete deep beams have not been the subject of many investigations. This paper presents an evaluation of the behavior and strength of three pre-tensioned concrete deep beams failed by shear and bond slip of prestressing strands using a nonlinear strut-tie model approach. In this approach, effective prestressing forces represented by equivalent external loads are gradually introduced along strand's transfer length in the nearest strut-tie model joints, the friction at the interface of main diagonal shear cracks is modeled by the aggregate interlock struts along the direction of the cracks in strut-tie model, and an algorithm considering the effect of bond slip of prestressing strands in the strut-tie model analysis and design of pre-tensioned concrete members is implemented. Through the strut-tie model analysis of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams, the nonlinear strut-tie model approach proved to present effective solutions for predicting the essential aspects of the behavior and strength of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams. The nonlinear strut-tie model approach is capable of predicting the strength and failure modes of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams including the anchorage failure of prestressing strands and, accordingly, can be employed in the practical and precise design of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams.

Strength Prediction of Corbels Using Strut-and-Tie Model Analysis

  • A strut-and-tie based method intended for determining the load-carrying capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) corbels is presented in this paper. In addition to the normal strut-and-tie force equilibrium requirements, the proposed model is based on secant stiffness formulation, incorporating strain compatibility and constitutive laws of cracked RC. The proposed method evaluates the load-carrying capacity as limited by the failure modes associated with nodal crushing, yielding of the longitudinal principal reinforcement, as well as crushing or splitting of the diagonal strut. Load-carrying capacity predictions obtained from the proposed analysis method are in a better agreement with corbel test results of a comprehensive database, comprising 455 test results, compiled from the available literature, than other existing models for corbels. This method is illustrated to provide more accurate estimates of behaviour and capacity than the shear-friction based approach implemented by the ACI 318-11, the strut-and-tie provisions in different codes (American, Australian, Canadian, Eurocode and New Zealand).

  • This paper presents an evaluation of the behavior and strength of two pre-tensioned concrete deep beams tested to failure with using the nonlinear strut-tie model approach. In the approach, the effective prestressing forces represented be equivalent external loads are gradually introduced along its transfer length in the nearest strut-tie model joints, the friction at the interface of main diagonal shear cracks is modeled by diagonal struts along the direction of the cracks in strut tie-model, and additional positioning of concrete ties a the place of steel ties is incorporated. Through the analysis of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams, the nonlinear strut-tie model approach proved to present effective solutions for prediction the essential aspects of the behavior and strength of pre-tensioned concrete deep beams.

  • 최근에는 블록식 방파제의 단점을 보완하고 경제적인 설계가 가능한 타이셀소파블록에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 타이셀소파블록은 각 블록을 말뚝으로 결속한 구조체로 활동저항성이 매우 우수한 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 실내모형실험을 통해 말뚝의 관입으로 인한 타이셀소파블록의 수평저항력 증가를 명확하게 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 말뚝의 수평저항력은 블록의 상재하중에 상관없이 거의 일정하게 나타났다. 말뚝이 분담하는 수평저항력은 블록과 블록사이의 마찰이 담당하는 수평저항력 증감에 따라 변화하였다. 말뚝을 두개 관입시킨 실험에서는 싱글말뚝을 사용한 경우 보다 전반적으로 수평저항력이 크게 나타났으나 말뚝의 저항 거동은 다르게 나타났다.

학습제어를 이용한 지게차 자동변속기 상향 변속품질 개선 (An Upshift Improvement in the Quality of Forklift's Automatic Transmission by Learning Control)

  • Recently, automatic transmissions caused a good improvement in the shift quality of a forklift. An advanced shift control algorithm, which was based on TCU firmware, was applied with embedded control technology and microcontrollers. In the clutch-to-clutch shifting, one friction element is released and the other friction element is activated. During this process, if the release and application timings are not synchronized, an overrun or tie-up occurs and ultimately leads to a shift shock. The TCU, which measures only the speed of the forklift, inevitably applies the open-loop shift control. In this situation, the speed ratio does not change during the clutch fill. The torque phase occurs until the clutch is disengaged. In this study, an offline shift logic of the learning control was proposed. It induced a synchronous shift when the learning control progressed. During this process, the reference current trajectory of the release clutch was corrected and applied to the next upshift. We considered the results of the overrun/tie-up characteristics of the upshift performed immediately before. The vehicle test proved that the deviation in shift quality, which was caused by the difference in the mechanical characteristics of the clutch, could be improved by the learning control.

Experimental and numerical studies on cyclic behavior of continuous-tenon joints in column-and-tie timber construction

  • The mechanical properties of timber construction have drawn more attention after the 2013 Lushan earthquake. A strong desire to preserve this ancient architectural styles has sprung up in recent years, especially for residential buildings of the mountainous areas. In the column-and-tie timber construction, continuous-tenon joints are the most common structural form to connect the chuanfang (similar to the beam in conventional structures) and the column. To study the cyclic performance of the continuous-tenon joints in column-and-tie timber construction, the reversed lateral cyclic loading tests were carried out on three 3/4 scale specimens with different section heights of the chuanfang. The mechanical behavior was assessed by studying the ultimate bending capacity, deformation ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Test results showed that the slippage of chuanfang occurred when the specimens entered the plastic stage, and the slippage degree increased with the increase of the section height of chuanfang. An obvious plastic deformation of the chuanfang occurred due to the mutual squeezing between the column and chuanfang. A significant pinching was observed on the bending moment-rotation curves, and it was more pronounced as the section height of chuanfang increased. The further numerical investigations showed that the flexural capacity and initial stiffness of the continuous-tenon joints increased with the increase of friction coefficient between the chuanfang and the column, and a more obvious increasing of bending moment occurred after the material yielding. The compressive strength perpendicular to grain of the material played a more significant role in the ultimate bending capacity of continuous-tenon joints than the compressive strength parallel to grain.

화강토에서의 띠 보강재의 겉보기마찰계수 (Apparent Coefficients of Friction between Weathered Granite Soils and Strip Reinforcements)

  • 화강토(화강암풍화토)의 세립자함유율에 따른 각종 띠형 보강재의 겉보기마찰계수의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 세립자함유율이 각각 7.28%, 19.58%, 35.86%인 3가지의 화강토 시료와 판형, 돌기형과 거친 무의형의 띠형 보강재를 대상으로 인발시험을 시행하였다. 인발시험결과 세립자함 유율이 증가하면 겉보기마찰계수는 감소하지만 세립자함유율이 35%인 화강토에서도 보강재 형상에 따라 보강토체 안정에 필요한 겉보기마찰계수를 얻을 수 있음이 확인되었다. 특히 돌기형 보강재는 세립자 함유율이 큰 화강토에서 매우 우수한 결과를 보였으며, 거친무늬형도 무늬깊이를 수정하면 35%의 세립자함유율의 화강토에 적용이 가능하다.
