복합적층판의 저속충격시험 및 거동에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Low-Velocity Impact Test and Response of Composite Laminates)

  • A drop weight type impact test system is designed and set up to experimentally investigate impact responses of composite laminates subjected to the low-velocity impact. Using the test system, the impact velocity and the rebound velocity of the impactor as well as the impact force history are measured. An error of the measured data due to a difference in measuring position of the sensor is corrected and, for the estimation of real contact force history, a method of correcting an error due to friction forces is developed. Experimental methods to fix the boundary edgy of laminate specimens in impact testing are investigated and the impact tests on the specimens fixed by those methods are performed. Impact force histories and dynamic strains measured from the tests are compared with numerical results from the finite element analysis using the contact law. Consequently, the nonlinear numerical results considering the large deflection effects are agreed with the experimental results better than the linear ones.

범용 Boek-Brown 파괴기준식의 직접 및 간접적 적용에 관한 수치해석과정의 비교 분석 (Comparison between Direct and Indirect Implementation of Generalized Hoek and Brown Failure Criterion in Numerical Analysis Procedure)

  • Hoek-Brown의 파괴기준식으로부터 암반의 내부마찰각 및 점착강도를 계산한 후, Mohr-Coulomb의 항복함수를 이용하여 소성 보정이 적용될 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 본 연구에서는 이러한 계산 과정이 연약 암반이나 낮은 봉압 조건의 암반에 대해서는 적합하지 않다는 사실을 보여주고자 한다. 즉, Hoek-Broun 재료 모델로부터 직접 및 간접적 적용에 의해 소성 보정을 수행하는 과정을 제시하였으며, 이를 통해 직접적 적용이 간접적 적용에 비해, 비선형 파괴면을 더욱 효과적으로 모사할 수 있고, 특히 봉압이 낮은 응력 조건에서 효과적임을 보여주고자 한다.

암석 절리의 3차원 거칠기 특성화와 수정 전단강도 관계식의 제안 (Characterization of the Three Dimensional Roughness of Rock Joints and Proposal of a Modified Shear Strength Criterion)

  • 19개의 절리면에 대해 레이저 스캐너를 이용하여 형상을 측정한 후, 각 절리면의 30개 단면에 대하여 절리 거칠기 계수(Joint Roughness Coefficient)를 계산하였다. JRC 값은 단면의 위치에 따라 매우 큰 차이를 보이고 있으나 3개의 단면에서 측정된 JRC의 평균값은 절리면 전체의 JRC 평균값을 잘 대표할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 9개의 절리면에 대해서 석고를 이용한 복제 시료를 제작하여 절리면 전단시험을 실시하였다. 최대마찰각(${\phi}_p$)은 JRC의 평균값과 ${\phi}_p=41.037+1.046JRC$의 직선의 관계를 보인다. 그러나 절리면 전단시험에서 측정된 전단강도는 절리면에서 측정된 JRC의 평균값을 사용하여 Barton의 관계식에서 추정된 전단강도보다 상당한 오차를 보여, 절리면 전단시험에서 역산된 $JRC_R$과 JRC의 관계를 $JRC_R=f{\cdot}JRC$로 정의하고 회귀분석하여 수정계수 $f=3.15JRC^{-0.5}$를 도출하였고, 이 수정계수를 적용하여 Barton의 전단강도 관계식을 ${\tau}={\sigma}_n{\cdot}tan(3.15JRC^{0.5}{\bullet}{\log}_{10}\frac{JCS}{{\sigma}_n}+{\phi}_b)$로 수정하여 제안하였다. 이 관계식은 강도가 비교적 낮고 연성의 특성을 보이는 풍화암이나 연암의 절리면 전단강도 추정에 적용될 것으로 기대된다.

터빈블레이드의 냉각에서 충돌제트에 의해 변화되는 유동 및 열전달 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A numerical study of flow and heat transfer characteristics varied by impingement jet in turbine blade cooling)

  • A numerical simulation has been carried out for the jet impinging on a flat plate and a semi-circular concave surface. In this computation finite volume method was employed to solve the full Navier-Stokes equation based on a non-orthogonal coordinate with non staggered variable arrangement. The standard k-.epsilon. turbulent model and low Reynolds number k-.epsilon. model(Launder-Sharmar model) with Yap's correction were adapted. The accuracy of the numerical calculations were compared with various experimental data reported in the literature and showed good predictions of centerline velocity decay, wall pressure distribution and skin friction. For the jet impingement on a semi-circular concave surface, potential core length was calculated for two different nozzle(round edged nozzle and rectangular edged nozzle) to consider effects of the nozzle shape. The result showed that round edged nozzle had longer potential core length than rectangular edged nozzle for the same condition. Heat transfer rate along the concave surface with constant heat flux was calculated for various nozzle exit to surface distance(H/B) in the condition of same jet velocity. The maximum local Nusselt number at the stagnation point occurred at H/B = 8 where the centerline turbulent intensity had maximum value. The predicted Nusselt number showed good agreement with the experimental data at the stagnation point. However heat transfer predictions along the downstream were underestimated. This results suggest that the improved turbulence modeling is required.

초음속 유동 해석을 위한 Wilcox к - ω 난류 모델 비교 (Comparison between Wilcox к - ω turbulence models for supersonic flows)

  • 본 연구에서는 초음속 비행체에 나타나는 유동 특성 해석을 위해 1988 Wilcox $\mathcal{k}-{\omega}$ 모델과 2008 Wilcox 모델의 수치 결과를 비교하였다. 충격파 - 경계층 간섭 현상과 램프 주입기 혼합 문제에 대하여 실험결과와 비교, 검토하였다. 또한, 표면 마찰 측정의 기초가 되는 평판 흐름과 전단 층 성장에 대한 상관 관계식도 비교, 분석 하였다. 램프 주입기 케이스에서 최대 주입 질량비는 1988 Wilcox 모델을 이용하였을 때 보다 신뢰성 있는 해석 결과를 예측할 수 있었다. 그러나 충격파 - 경계층 간섭 케이스에 대해서는 2008 Wilcox 모델을 적용하였을 때 더 정확한 해석 결과가 도출됨을 확인하였다.

큰 빙판에서 아라온 호 쇄빙 속도 성능 해석 (Speed Trial Analysis of Korean Ice Breaking Research Vessel 'Araon' on the Big Floes)

  • The speed performances of ice sea trial on the Arctic(2010 & 2011) area were shown different results depend on the ice floe size. Penetration phenomena of level ice was not happened on medium ice floe and tore up by the impact force because the mass of medium ice floe is similar to the mass of Araon which is Korean ice breaking research vessel and did not shut up by the ice ridge or iceberg. The sea trial on the Amundsen sea was performed at the big floe which is classified by WMO(World Meteorological Organization). Three measurements of ice properties and five results of speed trial were obtained with different ice thicknesses and engine powers. To evaluate speed of level ice trial and model test results at the same ice thickness and engine power, the correction method of HSVA(Hamburg Ship Model Basin) was used. The thickness, snow effect, flexural strength and friction coefficient were corrected to compare the speed of sea trial. The analyzed speed at 1.03m thickness of big floe was 5.85 knots at 10MW power and it's 6.10 knots at 1.0m ice thickness and the same power. It's bigger than the results of level ice because big floe was also slightly tore up by the impact force of vessel based on the observation of recorded video.

In-vitro investigation of the mechanical friction properties of a computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing lingual bracket system under diverse tooth displacement condition

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the static (SFF) and kinetic frictional forces (KFF) of a computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing lingual bracket (CAD/CAM-LB) with those of conventional LB (Con-LB) and Con-LB with narrow bracket width (Con-LB-NBW) under 3 tooth displacement conditions. Methods: The samples were divided into 9 groups according to combinations of 3 LB types (CAD/CAM-LB [Incognito], Con-LB [7th Generation, 7G], and Con-LB-NBW [STb]) with 3 displacement conditions (no displacement [control], maxillary right lateral incisor with 1-mm palatal displacement [MXLI-PD], and maxillary right canine with 1-mm gingival displacement [MXC-GD]; n = 6/group). While drawing a 0.016-inch copper or super-elastic nickel-titanium archwire with 0.5 mm/min for 5 minutes in a chamber maintained at $36.5^{\circ}C$, SFF and KFF were measured. The Kruskal-Wallis method with Bonferroni correction was performed. Results: The Incognito group demonstrated the highest SFF, followed by the 7G and STb groups ([STb-control, STb-MXLI-PD, Stb-MXC-GD] < [7G-MXC-GD, 7G-MXLI-PD, 7G-control] < [Incognito-MXLI-PD, Incognito-control, Incognito-MXC-GD]; p < 0.001). However, there were no significant differences in SFF among the 3 displacement conditions within each bracket group. Within each displacement condition, the Incognito group demonstrated the highest KFF, followed by the 7G and STb groups ([STb-control, STb-MXLI-PD] < Stb-MXC-GD < 7G-MXLI-PD < [7G-control, 7G-MXC-GD] < [7G-MXC-GD, Incognito-MXLI-PD, Incognito-control] < [Incognito-control, Incognito-MXC-GD]; p < 0.001). MXC-GD exhibited higher KFFs than MXLI-PD in the same bracket group. Conclusions: The slot design and ligation method of the CAD/CAM-LB system should be modified to reduce SFF and KFF during the leveling/alignment stage.

Comparison of Relative Thickness of the Iliotibial Band Following Four Self-Stretching Exercises

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of self-stretching exercises for iliotibial band (ITB) (Side-lying; right hip and knee were flexed to support the pelvis while left hip was extended and adducted, Standing A; side-bending of the trunk on standing with crossed leg, Standing B; same as Standing A, except the hands were clasped overhead and shifted right side, and Standing C; same as Standing B, except moving the arms diagonally downward) to help determine the most effective self-stretching method to stretch ITB. Twenty-one healthy subjects who do not have ITB shortness from Yonsei University (14 men and 7 women) between the ages of 18 to 28 years voluntarily participated. Ultrasound was performed to measure the thickness of the ITB between the long axis of the ITB and the level parallel to the lateral femoral epicondyle during four self-stretching exercises. All data were found to approximate a normal distribution. We used a one-way repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare the thickness of the ITB among all self-stretching exercises. The level of significance was set at ${\alpha}$=.05. The ANOVA was followed by Bonferroni's correction. The overall mean of ITB thickness was $1.14{\pm}.4$ mm (${\pm}$ standard deviation) in resting status. The change in the ITB thickness in percentages between the tested position of each self-stretching exercises and resting status was significant (p<.05) (Side-lying $26.62{\pm}10.18%$ with 95% confidence interval [CI]=21.99~31.25%; Standing A $29.46{\pm}16.19%$ with 95% CI=22.09~36.84%; Standing B $44.06{\pm}14.82%$ with 95% CI=37.31~50.81%; Standing C $53.76{\pm}12.1%$ with 95% CI=48.25~59.29%). Results indicated significant differences among four self-stretching exercises except Side-lying versus Standing A (p<.01). Based on these findings, the Standing C self-stretching exercise was the most effective in stretching the ITB thickness among four types of ITB self-stretching exercises. Additionally, the Side-lying self-stretching exercise using gravity to stretch the ITB is recommended as a low-load (low-intensity), long-duration stretch.

대수누선파양에 대한 확률론적 3차원 사면안정해석 (Probabilistic Three-Dimensional Slope Stability Analysis on Logarithmic Spiral Failure)

  • 본 연구에서 경계가 불규칙하고 여러 토층으로 이루어진 자연과 인공 사면에 대한, 토층의 경계에서 굴절하는 대수나선곡선을 파괴면으로 가정한 신뢰도해석 모델을 개발하였다. 이 모델에서, 사면파괴토괴는 양 끝단이 수직평면으로 된 일정한 폭을 가진 Cylindroid로 가정하여 절편법을 적용하였고, 강도정수의 공간적인 변화, 불충분한 시료의 수에 의한 오차 그리고 실험실과 현장조건의 차이에서 오는 모델오차를 고려하여, FOSM 그리고 SOSM의 방법으로 신뢰도 지수를 구하여 파괴확률을 구하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이러한 연구를 기초로 다음의 결과를 얻었다: (1) 내부마찰각의 변동계수가 점착력의 변동계 수보다 민감하게 영향을 미침을 보여주었다. 따라서 대수나선파괴면의 사면안정해석에서 내부마 찰각의 불확실성이 사면안정에 더 큰 영향을 주므로 내부마찰각의 추정에 더 큰 주의를 기울여야할 것으로 사료된다. (2) 지진이 없을 경우에는, 사면폭이 증가함에 따라 전체 3차원파괴확률과 한계파괴폭은 증가하였으며, 지진이 있을 경우에는 전체 3차원파괴확률은 증가하였으나 한계 파괴폭은 전체 사면폭이 비교적 클 때, 진도가 커짐에 따라 급격히 감소하였다. (3) 지하수위는 높을수록, 전단강도와 수정계수는 작을수록 사면의 한계폭을 감소시키는 효과가 있다.
