동-텅스텐 소결합금(Cu-W)과 동(Cu)의 마찰용접 특성에 미치는 업셋압력의 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of Upset Pressure on Weldability in the Friction Welding of Cu to Cu-W Sintered Alloy)

  • A copper-tungsten sintered alloy(Cu-W) has been friction welded to a tough pitch copper in order to investigate the effect of upset pressure on friction weldability. Under the condition of friction time 0.8sec, upset pressure 150MPa, the tensile strength and Charpy impact value of the friction welded joint were 336MPa, $400KJ/m^2$ respectively. And highest temperature of the weld measured was below $800^{circ}K$ which is very lower than melting point of Cu($1356^{circ}K$). Under the same conditions, W grains picked up in Cu matrix from Cu-W profitably affected on these mechanical fracture, and were dispersed in Cu by plastic flow during brake time.

  • This study accompanied with the friction welding of a spheroidal graphite cast iron bar and 2024 Aluminium alloy bar with A1050 insert metal and investigated between conditions of friction welding faces and welded joint strength. This principal results of the experimental investigation could be summarized as follows: If the optimum friction welding is selected, the aspect of the spheroidal graphite cast iron and 2024 Aluminium could be welded with a pure Aluminium insert metal.

  • To investigate the influence of heat treatment on the growth intermetallic compounds (IMCs) at the joint interface of friction-welded Cu-Al, several heat treatments are performed at three different temperature with different times. The experiments reveal three different IMCs layers which are significantly influenced by atomic diffusion of Cu and Al with heat treatment conditions. Since the formation of these IMCs layers can affect mechanical properties of friction-welded Cu-Al interfaces, the relationship between the microstructure of IMCs layers and the tensile strength is analyzed according to heat treatment temperature and times.

  • In this work, we consider the flexible manipulator system. Generally, the manipulator system may often be made on the base of the imperfect modeling, joint friction, payload change, and external disturbances. These elements are uncertain factors. These uncertainties and flexibility make difficult to control the system. To overcome these defects, a class of robust control law is proposed for the flexible manipulator system and the singular perturbation approach is applied. To show the effectiveness of this control law, simulation is presented for one degree of freedom flexible joint and flexible link system.

트라이포드 타입 등속조인트의 다물체 동역학 해석 (Multi-body Dynamic Analysis for Tripod Constant Velocity Joint)

  • The paper proposes a multi-body dynamic simulation to numerically evaluate the generated axial force(G.A.F) and plunging resistant force(P.R.F) practically related to the shudder and idling vibration of an automobile. A numerical analysis of two plunging types of CV joints, tripod joint(TJ) and very low axial tripod joint(VTJ), is conducted using the commercial program DAFUL. User-defined subroutines of a friction model illustrating the contacted parts of the outboard and inboard joint are subsequently developed to overcome the numerical instability and improve the solution performance. The Coulomb friction effect is applied to describe the contact models of the lubricated parts in the rolling and sliding mechanisms. The numerical results, in accordance with the joint articulation angle variation, are validated with experimentation. The offset between spider and tulip housing is demonstrated to be the critical role in producing the 3rd order component of the axial force that potentially causes the noise and vibration in vehicle. The VTJ shows an excellent behavior for the shudder when compared with TJ. In addition, a flexible nonlinear contact analysis coupled with rigid multi-body dynamics is also performed to show the dynamic strength characteristics of the rollers, housing, and spider.

  • The two objectives of this study were, first, to determine the optimal friction welding process parameters using finite element simulations and, second, to evaluate the mechanical properties of the friction welded zone for large piston rods in marine diesel engines. Since the diameters of the rod and its connecting part are very different, the manufacturing costs using friction welding are reduced compared to those using the forging process of a single piece. Modeling is a generally accepted method to significantly reduce the number of experimental trials needed when determining the optimal parameters. Therefore, because friction welding depends on many process parameters such as axial force, initial rotational speed and energy, amount of upset and working time, finite element simulations were performed. Then, friction welding experiments were carried out with the optimal process parameter conditions resulting from the simulations. The base material used in this investigation was AISI 4140 with a rod outer diameter of 280 mm and an inner diameter of 160 mm. In this study, various investigation methods, including microstructure characterization, hardness measurements and tensile and fatigue testing, were conducted in order to evaluate the mechanical properties of the friction welded zone.

볼트 결합부 풀림에 관한 마찰 특성 (The Friction Characteristics on the Loosening of Bolted Joints)

  • By using an experimental approach recently developed to determine the torque-tension relationship for bearing frictional characteristics of several typical bolted joints were studied. The experimental approach allows the direct determination of the bearing friction between the nut and its bearing surface. Detailed friction studies were made on the influences of the size and shape of the hole, the use of a slot in a bolted joint, contact area and position, and other factors such as turning speed, coating, and the use of wax on the bearing surface. The contact area and position of the washer have a marginal effect on the bearing friction. The organic coating on the nuts reduces the bearing friction significantly. Nuts with organic coating over a washer with zinc finish provide the smallest and the most consistent bearing friction. The results from the experimental investigation will be helpful for the better design of bolted joints bearing friction. The results from the experimental investigation Will be helpful for the better design of bolted joints.

시공줄눈이 있는 콘크리트 경계면의 전단마찰 내력에 대한 보강철근의 영향 (Effect of Transverse Reinforcement on the Shear Friction Capacity of Concrete Interfaces with Construction Joint)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 부드러운 면의 시공줄눈을 가지는 콘크리트 경계면에서의 횡보강근의 전단전달력을 평가하는 것이다. 횡보강근의 배근은 전단마찰 면에 수직으로 배근한 그룹(V-type)과 $45^{\circ}$의 X형으로 교차배근 한 그룹(X-type)으로 나누었다. 전단마찰면에서 횡보강근비는 V형 철근배근의 경우 0.0045~0.0135로, X형 철근의 경우 0.0064 및 0.0045이다. 소성론의 상계치 이론(upper-bound theorem)을 기반으로 한 일체화된 콘크리트의 전단마찰모델을 수정하여, 부드러운 면의 시공줄눈을 갖는 콘크리트의 전단마찰내력을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 시공줄눈이 있는 두 부재사이의 전단마찰 내력에 대한 콘크리트 단위용적중량의 영향은 미미하였다. 시공줄눈에서 상대 미끄러짐 제어 및 전단마찰내력에 대해서는 X형 배근이 V형 배근에 비해 다소 유리하였다. 부드러운 면을 갖는 시공줄눈의 전단마찰내력에 대한 실험결과와 제안모델에 의한 예측값의 비들의 평균과 표준편차는 각각 1.07과 0.14로 나타났다.

마찰을 고려한 이중 오프셋 등속조인트의 축력 해석에 관한 연구 (Analytic Study on the Axial Forces of a Double Offset Constant Velocity Joints in Consideration of Friction Effect)

  • The constant velocity joint(CVJ) used for transmitting torque to the front wheels is an important part in automotive drive system. There are several types of constant velocity joints. Typically, they are classified by fixed and plunging constant velocity joints. The axial force generated in plunging constant velocity joints influences significantly the noise, vibration and harshness. For heaps of time, many constant velocity joint markers have been studying and developing a valid method to reduce the axial force and extensive tests have been carried out on rigs. This paper presents the analysis method to predict the axial force of a double offset constant velocity joint(DOJ), a kind of plunging constant velocity joint, and the influence of ball-cage dimension tolerance on the axial force.

사무용 의자의 조인트 구조에 따른 등판 반발력 분석 (Evaluating the Reaction Force of Office Chair Backrest for Different Joint Structures)

  • 등판이 기울어지는 사무용 의자에서 등판 회전축 위치를 인체의 엉덩관절에 일치시키면 인체와 등판이 일체화되어 기울어짐으로써 사용성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 그러나 등판 힌지가 외부로 돌출되지 않도록 하기 위해 적용되는 핀인슬롯 조인트에서 기구적인 마찰이 발생해 등을 기울이고 세우는 동안 사용자에 영향을 줄 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 마찰 정도가 다른 조인트 부품으로서 슬라이더, 롤러 그리고 베어링 세 가지 유형을 적용하고, 등판 기울임 시 대비 복귀 시의 반발력 비율을 측정하였다. 실험 결과 베어링, 롤러, 슬라이더를 적용한 경우 등판 반발력 비율은$[{\pm}SD]$은 각각 $59.7[{\pm}10.3]%$, $47.2[{\pm}13.6]%$, $30.3[{\pm}18.1]%$로 나타나 베어링을 적용할 경우 마찰이 가장 작았다. 그러나 각 부품들은 생산단가 측면에서 차이를 보이기 때문에 부품 선정 시 마찰감소 성능뿐만 아니라 사용자의 주관적인 만족도를 함께 고려할 수 있음을 제시하였다.
