  • Accurate flow rate distribution has been become a very important part for controling of air change rate since the introduction of house ventilation system. An inappropriate selection of fan due to Incorrect prediction of friction loss makes waste energy. The purpose of this study is to recognize applicability of T-Method at house ventilation system by comparing experiment with T-method, The result of this study is as follows Flow rate is small amount in a house, so duct size must be accurate. And duct design with Equal Friction Loss Method presented large error range. Equal friction loss method is not fit to applicate small amount air flow rate. T-Method predicts accurate flow rate comparatively in a house ventilation system. Error range was 3.5%.

  • The output of the Stirling engine is influenced by the regenerator effectiveness. The regenerator effectiveness is influenced by heat transfer and flow friction loss of the regenerator matrix. In this paper, in order to provide basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of flow friction loss were investigated by a packed method of matrix in the oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. As matrices, two different wire screens were used. The results are summarized as follows; 1. With the wire screen of No. 50 as regenerator matrices, pressure drop of working fluid of the oscillating flow is shown as 3 times higher than that of one directional flow, not too much influenced by the number of packed meshes. 2. With the wire screen of No. 100 as regenerator matrices, pressure drop of working fluid of the oscillating flow is shown as 2.5 times on the average higher than that of one directional flow, not too much influenced by the number of packed meshes. 3. Under one directional flow which used regenerator matrices with both 200, 240, and 280 wire screens of No. 50 and 320, 370, and 420 wire screens of No. 100, the relationship between the friction factor and Reynold No. is shown as the following formula. $$f=\frac{0.00326639}{Re\iota}-1.29106{\times}10^{-4}$$ 4. Under oscillating flow which used regenerator matrices with both 200, 240, and 280 wire screens of No. 50 and 320, 370, and 420 wire screens of No. 100, the relationship between the friction factor and Reynold No. is shown as the following formula. $$f_r=\frac{0.000918567}{Re\iota}+1.86101{\times}10^{-5}$$ 5. The pressure drop is shown as high in proportion as the number of meshes has been higher, and the number of packed wire screens as matrices increases.

  • Basic simulation program for Vuilleumier cycle heat pump was developed that can use precise VMHP design and analysis. VMHP system was divided 11 sections in simulation. Simulation was used adiabatic model analysis and that considered with heat transfer performance for heat exchanger, regenerator loss, conduction loss, shuttle loss, pumping loss and pressure loss by flow friction. Specially, friction loss of connection pipe between heat compression side and heat pump side, leakage of rod seal and piston seal was considered in the analysis.

  • The output of Stirling engine is influenced by the regenerator effectiveness. The regenerator effectiveness is influenced by heat transfer and flow friction loss of the regenerator matrix. In this paper, in order to provide a basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of heat transfer and flow friction loss were investigated by a packed method of matrix in the oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. As matrices, several kinds of combined wire screen meshes were used. The results are summarized as follows; The packed meshes with high mesh no. in the side of heater part of regenerator showed effective than the packed meshes with low mesh no. in the side of cooler part of regenerator. The temperature difference and pressure drop of the regenerator were not made by the specific surface area of wire screen meshes but by the minimum free-flow area to the total frontal area. Among the No. 150 single screen meshes, 200-60 combined meshes, the 200-150-100 combined meshes showed the highest in effectiveness.

짧은 못형핀의 형상 변화에 따른 열전달 및 마찰손실 특성 (Heat transfer and friction loss characteristics of shaped short pin-fin arrays)

  • Average heat transfer coefficients and friction coefficients have been measured from staggered short pin-fin arrays to investigate the effect of fin shapes. Flow entering into the test section is a fully developed duct flow and the Reynolds number ranges from 5,000 to 25,000 based on fin diameter and average approaching velocity. The fin has three different shapes; uniform-diameter circular fin, two stepped-diameter circular fins. Average heat transfer rates change slightly with the fin shapes. However, friction loss(pressure loss) for the stepped-diameter fins is significantly less than that for the uniform-diameter fin. This results indicate that the stepped-diameter fin arrays in duct flow enhance heat transfer rates largely based on unit pumping power.

개수로형 재생펌프의 특성해석에 관한 연구 (Performance Characteristic Analysis for Open Channel Type Regenerative Pump)

  • An improved performance characteristics analysis model of a regenerative pump is proposed in the present paper. For its low characteristic speed, a regenerative pump generates high head with low flow rate. However, the efficiency is fairly low due to the skin friction between impeller and casing. Also, the complexity of its internal flow pattern makes prediction of performance characteristics difficult. In the present research, a one-dimensional analysis model was improved with consideration of disc friction loss, minor loss, and modified flow length, and the result was proven to be close in range with the results from experiments.

  • 스마트워터그리드의 중요한 요소기술로써 그리드(관망)의 설계는 압력, 마찰계수, 마찰속도, 수두손실, 그리고 에너지 경사와 같은 수리학적 매개변수를 추정하는 것이 필수적이다. 특히, 그리드의 마찰속도는 에너지 경사, 마찰계수, 압력, 수두손실 등의 결합에 있어 매우 중요한 인자이다. 그러나 마찰 수두손실, 마찰속도 등 마찰인자를 정확히 산정하는 것은 매우 어려우며, 경험적 마찰 인자는 여전히 약 100년 전에 개발된 공식과 이론을 사용함으로써 산정된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 최대유속과 마찰속도 사이의 새로운 공식을 Darcy-Weisbach의 마찰수두 손실공식과 Schlichting 공식 사이의 적분관계 및 회귀분석을 통하여 개발하였다. 개발된 공식을 증명하기 위하여 매끄러운 관 자료가 사용되었으며 제안한 공식은 관측 자료와 비교하여 높은 정확성을 보여준다. 이 연구의 결과는 안정성 향상과 그리드 설계에 사용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Flow 3D를 이용한 다목적 수로 터널의 마찰 손실 산정 (Friction loss of multi-purpose stormwater tunnel simulated by Flow 3D)

  • 본 최근 지구의 온난화로 인하여 극한 홍수가 자주 발생하고 있으며, 기존 도시 유역의 우수배제시설 용량부족 등으로 도시홍수가 빈번하게 발생하고 있으므로, 주요 범람지역의 홍수량을 우회하거나 저류하여 홍수를 방지하기 위한 수로터널의 개발이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 교통기능과 수로기능을 동시에 갖춘 다기능 수로 터널의 설계 기준을 개발하기 위한 수리 실험 및 Flow3D를 이용한 수치모의을 수행하였다. 수치모의결과 동일한 수로 터널 구간 내 발생하는 마찰손실의 크기는 수치모의로 도출된 마찰손실이 이론적으로 계산한 마찰손실보다 더 크게 발생함을 관측하였으며, 이는 수로의 형상이 비원형인 경우에는 관의 기하학적 형상에 의한 흐름구조의 변화로 추가적인 마찰손실이 발생하는 것이 원인으로 판단된다. 마찰손실의 증가는 난류보다 층류에서 두드러졌다. 따라서 터널의 홍수량 흐름 시 마찰손실계수가 터널의 형상에 좌우되며, 실무에서 정확한 설계를 위해 방수로 터널의 형상을 주의 깊게 고려해야 한다는 결론을 내렸다. 이는 실제 방수로 터널 설계에 활용될 수 있는 기본 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

  • The performance of stilting engine, in particular, its energy conversion efficiencies are critically influenced by the regenerator characteristics. The regenerator characteristics are influenced by effectiveness, void fraction. heat transfer loss and fluid friction loss in the regenerator matrix. These factors were influenced by the surface geometry and material properties of the regenerator matrix. The regenerator design goals arc good heat transfer and low pressure drop of working Bas across the regenerator. Various data for designing a wire screen matrix have been given by Kays and London(1984). The mesh number of their experiment. however, was confined below the No. 60. which seems rather small for the Stirling engine applications. In this paper. in order to provide a basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of heat transfer and flow friction loss were investigated by a packed mettled of matrix in oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. Seven kinds of sing1e wire screen meshes were used as the regenerator matrices. The results are summarized as follows; 1. While the working fluid flew slowly in the regenerator. the temperature difference was great at the both hot-blow(the working fluid flows from healer to cooler) and cold-blow(the working fluid flows from cooler to healer). On the other hand. while the working fluid flew fast. the temperature difference was not distinguished. 2. The No.150 wire screen used as the regenerator matrix showed excellent performance than tile others. 3. Phase angle variation and filling rate affected heat transfer or regenerator matrices. 4. Temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the regenerator is very hish in degree of 120 phase angle.

화재현장에서 사용하는 소방호스의 마찰손실 감소 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Friction Loss Reduction in Fire Hoses Used at a Fire Scene)

  • 본 연구에서는 화재현장에서 사용하는 소방호스에 대하여 사용압력과 방수량 변화에 따른 마찰손실을 실측하였다. 소방호스의 종류, 수량, 사용압력 등 소방호스의 사용 실태를 분석하여 그 결과를 토대로 실측한 결과 화재현장에서 소방공무원이 사용하는 조건에서 소방호스의 마찰손실은 무려 56.8%까지 측정되었다. 옥내 외 소화전설비에서 펌프양정 계산시 사용하는 소방호스의 등가 길이와도 많은 차이가 난다. 관련규정조차 마찰손실에 대한 제한 규정이 없고, 소방호스를 생산하는 업체에서도 마찰손실을 측정한 자료가 없으며, 화재현장에서는 마찰손실을 고려하지 않고 소방호스를 전개함으로써 호스의 사용량이 많아지고 소방펌프차에서 고압으로 방수하게 되는 원인이 되므로 본 연구를 통하여 소방호스 마찰손실에 대한 등가길이 기준을 정립하고 화재현장에서 소방호스의 마찰손실을 고려한 전개 방법을 제안하고자 한다.
