Analysis of the Dimensionless Torque in Cone Drum False Twisting Mechanism

  • An investigation of the dimensionless torque in the newly developed cone drum twister texturing mechanism is reported. The cone drum twister is one of the outer surface contacting friction-twisting devices in false-twist texturing. In this cone drum twister, a filament yam passes over the surface of the cone drum that rotates by the passing yarn without a special driving device. This research is composed of the theoretical analysis of the false twisting mechanism and the experimental analysis at room temperature. The equations have been derived which shows interrelationship of the conical angle of cone drum, the wrapping angle, the drag angle, and the yam helix angle. Theoretical values of dimensionless torque were calculated and were compared with the experimental results. It is shown that, as the conical angle and the projected wrapping angle increased, the dimensionless torque also increased. But the conical angle was reached to ${30.75}^{\circ}C$, the dimensionless torque decreased.

  • The average frictional coefficient was used generally to analyze the moving state of lubricated machine. But It is difficult of getting the correct friction coefficient because the average frictional coefficient of it is progressed always unstably with a large amplitute on driving condition. If correct analysis of frictional coefficient on working condition for lubricated machine can be possible, it can be effect on diagnosis of lubricated machine. The purpose of this study is carried out to get the working condition with a minimum frictional coefficient of transmission gear materials using statistical techniques.

  • Until recently performance requirements for automatic transmission fluids have continued to change to reflect the design changes of automatic transmission. The major purpose for these design changes is to improve the fuel economy and easy driving. To meet recent performance requirements fur automatic transmission the needs for special base oils Bike API Group III and IV base oils become larger. In this paper to evaluate the effects of base oils on performance of automatic transmission fluids formulated with API Group I,II,III and IV and Dexron III and Hereon Type additive package, Brookfield viscosity, oxidation test, SAE No.2 friction test and seal compatibility test were examined. From the test we knew that the use of Croup III and IV base oils in ATF has several benefits in low temperature viscosity, oxidation stability and SAE No.2 friction characteristics.

유압구동 습동재의 마찰면 형상특징 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Morphological Analysis of the Rubbed Surface far Hydraulic Driving Material)

  • It is known that fractal theory has recently been used as a useful in the characterization of surface texture and the understanding of tribological phenomena such as friction wear and lubrication The fractal based method for describing the rubbed surface texture has aroused great interest In this paper the fractal descriptors was applied to rubbed surface of hydraulic driving material with image processing system in order to describe morphology of the rubbed surface The results showed that the fractal dimension can be determined by sum of intensity difference of surface pixel. The two step size to get fractal dimension is similar to surface roughness Ra. Fractal dimensions of the rubbed surfaces increase with an increase of applied load Morphology of the rubbed surface driving in lubricant can be effectively obtained by fractal dimensions.

An Intelligent Nano-positioning Control System Driven by an Ultrasonic Motor

  • This paper presents a linear positioning system and its control algorithm design with nano accuracy/resolution. The basic linear stage structure is driven by an ultrasonic motor and its displacement feedback is detected by a LDGI (Laser Diffraction Grating Interferometer), which can achieve nanometer resolution. Due to the friction driving property of the ultrasonic motor, the driving situation differs in various ranges along the travel. Experiments have been carried out in order to observe and realize the phenomena of the three main driving modes: AC mode (for mm motion), Gate mode (for ${\mu}m$ motion), and DC mode (for nm motion). A proposed FCMAC (Fuzzy Cerebella Model Articulation Controller) control algorithm is implemented for manipulating and predicting the velocity variation during the motion of each mode respectively. The PCbased integral positioning system is built up with a NI DAQ Device by a BCB (Borland $C^{++}$ Builder) program to accomplish the purpose of an intelligent nanopositioning control.

  • The automatic load transfer switch (ALTS) typically automatically transfers electrical loads from a normal electrical power source to an emergency electrical power source upon reduction or loss of normal power source voltage. It can also automatically re-transfer the load to the normal power source when the normal voltage has been restored within acceptable limits. The transfer operation of ALTS is accomplished by a spring-driven linkage mechanism. In this paper we build a dynamic model of driving mechanism for ALTS using ADAMS and checked the characteristics of the transfer operation. Finally we performed a detailed design of the driving mechanism through results of analysis and confirmed it to satisfy design requirements.

  • An ultrasonic motor is a motor which uses vibration -a type of elastic vibration- to obtain a driving force, which then drives the motor using friction. In this paper, mode conversion type - single resonance mode ultrasonic rotary motor that use langevin type ultrasonic vibrator was studied. This model was proposed for the first time by Japanese Kumada in 1985. In this study, finite element analysis (FEA) of a stator and bidirectional driving characteristic of a rotor was newly obtained. The amplitude and phase of displacement and elliptical trajectory of beam was confirmed by FEA The fabricated motor was operated to clockwise and counterclockwise in 40.8 [kHz] and 44.2 [kHz] respectively. But bidirectional driving characteristics did not coincide each other.

회전 트로웰의 원판형 가정을 통한 콘크리트 미장로봇의 전방향 운동 모델링 (Omni-Directional Motion Modeling of Concrete Finishing Trowel Robot with Circular Trowels)

  • A concrete floor trowel machine, developed in the U.S in 1990's, consists of only two rotary trowels, and doesn't need any other mechanism for motion such as wheels. When the machine flattens a concrete floor with its rotary trowels, the machine can move in any direction by utilizing the unbalanced friction forces occurring between the rotary wheels and the floor when the trowels are tilted in appropriate directions. In order to automate the trowels machine, this paper proposed the self-propulsive concrete finishing trowel robot which has twin trowels. For the control of the robot, this paper discussed the following. Firstly, the dynamics model of the driving frictional force applied on each trowel from the floor is derived. Secondly, the relationship between the driving force for the robot and the control variable of the robot is derived. Finally, the basic motion of the robot are realized by using the obtained relationship. This paper figures out how the concrete floor finishing robot with tow trowels moves and will contribute to realizing it.

실차 비교 및 검증을 통한 복합재 브레이크의 개발 효용성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Development Effectiveness of Composite Brake through Real Car Comparison and Verification)

  • Composite material is recently very important material for eco-friendly vehicles because of its excellent mechanical property and lightweight effect. So, many research results have been recently published for developing the composite material to apply vehicles. In this paper, new brake system is presented using composite material to response this situation. And advantages in terms of performance compared to competitive company will be discussed in depth to verify superiorities of the new composite brake. To do so, composite brake systems which have the same size as the competitive company to the same vehicle is applied. And superiorities through a variety of test results are presented. First, normal braking performances are compared with competitive company through braking effect, heat capacity and friction test, Second, circuit driving and high speed fade test are also verified with competitive company to confirm harsh braking performances for the new composite brake system. Finally, the effects of applying the composite brake to automobile industry like electric car are analyzed.

대구경 강관말뚝의 항타시 동적 거동 (Dynamic Behavior of Large Diameter steel Pipe Piles during driving)

  • 방글라데시의 자무나 강을 가로지르는 길이 4.8km 교량의 교각기초에 대구경 개단 강관말뚝 2본 또는 3본이 사용되었다. 총 50개의 교각과 시험용 말뚝 2본을 포함한 123본의 말뚝이 강 하저에서 정규압밀된 모래층을 지나 자갈층 위까지 항타하여 설치되었다. 두께 40mm 내지 60mm의 변단면을 갖는 직경 3.15m와 2.50m의 짧은 말뚝 2, 3개를 연결하여 69m에서 74m 깊이까지 6:1의 경사로 항타하여 시공하였다. 전체 123본의 말뚝에 대하여 항타후 관내토 길이를 측정하였고, 이중 24본의 말뚝들에 대해서는 항타시 동재하시험을 수행하였다. 말뚝 항타완료후 측정한 결과에 의하면, 선단부 근처에서는 주동 관내토(Active Plug)가 주면마찰력 발현에 크게 기여한 것으로 나타났다. 시험한 모든 말뚝들은 약 90% 정도의 지지력이 주면마찰력에 기인하는 주면마찰지지형 말뚝으로 나타났다. 현장모래지반에서의 탄성변형량(Quake)값과 감쇠계수(Smith Damping)값은 직경에 상관없이 일정하게 나타났는데, 이는 주변 지반의 균질함이 잘 반영된 것으로 판단되었다.
