  • In this paper, vibration mode of Windmill type Ultrasonic Motors was analysed. We used the ANSYS program to analysis by FEM. Vibration Mode express 20 modes as each resonance frequency. We bind nearly same modes and compress 5 modes. Windmill type Ultrasonic Motor's rotation is generated the friction of rotor at top endcap. Thus, We will find the best driving frequency that generating large friction at top endcap.

전단하중 하의 피로균열 전파거동의 특징 (The Characteristics of Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior in Shear Load)

  • This paper reviewed characteristics of fatigue crack behavior observed by changing various shapes of initial crack and magnitudes of loading in compact tension shear(CTS) specimen subjected to shear loading. In the high-loading condition, fatigue crack under shear loading propagated branching from the pre-crack tip. Meanwhile, the secondary fatigue crack in the low-loading condition which was created in the notch root due to friction on the pre-crack face grew to a main crack. Influenced by the mode II loading condition, fatigue crack propagation retardation appeared in the initial propagation region due to the reduction of crack driving force and friction on crack face. In both cases, however, fatigue cracks grew in tensile mode type. Propagation path of fatigue crack under the shear loading was 70 degree angle from the initial crack regardless of its shape and load magnitude.

The Effect of Buoyancy Orientation on Flow Structures in Turbulent Channel Flow using DNS

  • The effect of buoyancy orientation on turbulent channel flow has been investigated using DNS (direct numerical simulation). Grashof number is kept at 9.6 $\times 10^{5}$ while changing the orientation of the buoyancy vector to be parallel or perpendicular to the channel walls. Four study cases can be distinguished during this research namely; streamwise, wall-normal unstable stratification, wall-normal stable stratification and spanwise oriented buoyancy. The driving mean pressure gradient used in all cases is adjusted to keep mass flow rate constant while friction Reynolds number is around 150. At this Grashof number, the skin friction shows decrement in the unstable and stable stratification and increment in the other two cases. Analyses of the changes of flow structure for the four cases are presented highlighting on the mean quantities and second order statistics.

  • Optical image stabilization is a technique to compensate the image blurring caused by some vibrations of camera at the exposure time. Pitching and yawing of camera are sensitive to the image quality so they are usually compensated by optical image stabilization. Corresponding pitching and yawing of a camera, a lens or the image sensor is translated in two-axis direction and then the optical path of camera is adjusted. In this paper, two-axis OIS actuator for mobile camera module is suggested and designed. The actuator is a voice-coil actuator that uses the electromagnetic force of voice-coil to make compensation motions. And ball bearing is used to reduce friction force. Magnetic attractive force between magnets and yokes acts as a preload and magnet springs. Prototype actuator is fabricated to measure the friction force and to verify the feasibility of the OIS actuator with ball bearing. At last, the actuator is improved in consideration of driving force and friction force. Design of experiments is used for designing the actuator.

저속 고토오크 제로터 유압모터의 최적 이 끝 틈새를 갖는 제로터 설계 연구 (A Study on Gerotor Design with Optimum Tip Clearance for Low Speed High Torque Gerotor Hydraulic Motor)

  • Gerotor hydraulic motor is widely used in hydraulic systems due to its low speed, high torque output and compactness in rotational direct driving of a heavy weight. Gerotor is a Planar mechanism consisted of a pair of rotor and circular teeth of stator assembly which forms a closed space, so called a chamber. The motion of rotor relative to the circular tooth is produced by the pressure difference of hydraulic operating fluid between the adjacent chamber. As all active contact points of rotor and circular teeth are subjected to very high sliding friction, a reduction in the performance of the gerotor hydraulic motor can not be avoided. Therefore, the core design parameters of gerotor profile used in hydraulic motors is to minimize a friction force by high contact stresses. The analytical design method of gerotor profile, based on envelope of a family of curves, is proposed. In this study, the influence of the tip clearances on three critical contact points between rotor and circular teeth of stator assembly has been explored by experimental data in this paper. At the same time a improvement method to reduce the friction force is proposed and the tip clearances on three critical points for getting an optimum gerotor profile are also analyzed.

각종 항타공식에 의한 말뚝의 허용지지력 연구 (A Study on the Allowable Bearing Capacity of Pile by Driving Formulas)

  • The estimation of pile bearing capacity is important since the design details are determined from the result. There are numerous ways of determining the pile design load, but only few of them are chosen in the actual design. According to the recent investigation in Korea, the formulas proposed by Meyerhof based on the SPT N values are most frequently chosen in the design stage. In the study, various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the allowable bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the perdicted values with the static and dynamic load test measurements. Also in cases, these methods of pile bearing capacity determination do not take the time effect consideration, the actual allowable load as determined from pile load test indicates severe deviation from the design value. The principle results of this study are summarized as follows : A a result of estimate the reliability in criterion of the Davisson method, in was showed that Terzaghi & Peck > Chin > Meyerhof > Modified Meyerhof method was the most reliable method for the prediction of bearing capacity. Comparisons of the various pile-driving formulas showed that Modified Engineering News was the most reliable method. However, a significant error happened between dynamic bearing capacity equation was judged that uncertainty of hammer efficiency, characteristics of variable , time effect etc... was not considered. As a result of considering time effect increased skin friction capacity higher than end bearing capacity. It was found out that it would be possible to increase the skin friction capacity 1.99 times higher than a driving. As a result of considering 7 day's time effect, it was obtained that Engineering News. Modified Engineering News. VDC 장착 차량의 기동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristics of the VDC Vehicle)

  • Safety systems for road vehicles have been rapidly developed in recent years. Especially, the VDC(Vehicle dynamics Control) system is a new active safety system for road vehicles which controls its dynamic vehicle motion in emergency situations . In the case of configuring the VDC system by utilizing the ABS(Anti-lock Brake System), the role of a control logic which directly influences the vehicle motion is very important. In this study the performance of the VDC vehicle was compared to the performances of the CBS (Conventional Brake system )and ABS vehicle. For various driving conditions , the simulation of vehicle dynamics with known VDC control logics was performed. Analysis results showed the VDC vehicle could stably perform even on the road of low coefficient of friction. In addition it was shown that the basic control logic for the VDC system could outstandingly improve driving stability in the case of braking as well as constant speed cruising.

  • This paper addresses an analytical approach to the mechanical error analysis of gear train and tolerance design and manufacture of gear train in restricted space considering motor driving torque, driving system inertia, motor acceleration, motor rotor inertia and friction torque. The gear train is designed to have optimum gear ratio in restricted space and each gear is manufactured to have the lowest weight and each gear tooth is heat-treated to have robustness. Based on the small difference between the mechanical error analysis and measurement, gear train design with optimum gear ratio and restricted space and robustness is proposed.

  • With conventional positioning apparatus, it is very difficult to simultaneously achieve the desired driving range and precision at the sub-micrometer level. Generally, lead screw and friction drive, etc., have been used as servo control systems. These have large driving ranges, and high-speed positioning is feasible. In this study, we present a global servo system controlled by a laser interferometer acting as a displacement measurement sensor for achieving positioning accuracy at the sub-micrometer level.

험지 주행을 위한 다관절 트랙 로봇 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of the Multi-joint Tracked Robot for Adaptive Uneven Terrain Driving)

  • IVarious driving mechanisms to adapt to uneven environment have been developed for many urban search and rescue (USAR) missions. A tracked mechanism has been widely used to maintain the stability of robot's pose and to produce large traction force on uneven terrain in this research area. However, it has a drawback of low energy efficiency due to friction force when rotating. Moreover, single tracked mechanism can be in trouble when the body gets caught with high projections, so the track doesn't contact on the ground. A transformable tracked mechanism is proposed to solve these problems. The mechanism is designed with several articulations surrounded by tracks, used to generate an attack angle when the robot comes near obstacles. The stair climbing ability of proposed robot was analyzed since stairs are one of the most difficult obstacles in USAR mission. Stair climbing process is divided into four separate static analysis phases. Design parameters are optimized according to geometric limitations from the static analysis. The proposed mechanism was produced from optimized design parameters, and demonstrated in artificially constructed uneven environment and the actual stairway.
