A data stream is a massive unbounded sequence of data elements continuously generated at a rapid rate. The continuous characteristic of streaming data necessitates the use of algorithms that require only one scan over the stream for knowledge discovery. Data mining over data streams should support the flexible trade-off between processing time and mining accuracy. In many application areas, mining frequent itemsets has been suggested to find important frequent itemsets by considering the weight of itemsets. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm WSFI (Weighted Support Frequent Itemsets)-Mine with normalized weight over data streams. Moreover, we propose a novel tree structure, called the Weighted Support FP-Tree (WSFP-Tree), that stores compressed crucial information about frequent itemsets. Empirical results show that our algorithm outperforms comparative algorithms under the windowed streaming model.
Nowadays, lots of data mining applications based on continuous and online real time are increasing by the rapid growth of the data processing technique. In order to do association rule mining in that application, we have to use new techniques to find the frequent itemsets. Most of the existing techniques to find the frequent itemsets should scan the total database repeatedly. But in the application based on the continuous and online real time, it is impossible to scan the total database repeatedly. We have to find the frequent itemsets with only one scan of the data interval for that kind of application. So in this paper we propose an approximation technique which finds the maximum size of the frequent itemsets and items included in the maximum size of the frequent itemsets for the processing of association rule mining.

Data mining is the exploration and analysis of huge amounts of data to discover meaningful patterns. One of the most important data mining problems is association rule mining. Recent studies of mining association rules have proposed a closure mechanism. It is no longer necessary to mine the set of all of the frequent itemsets and their association rules. Rather, it is sufficient to mine the frequent closed itemsets and their corresponding rules. In the past, a number of algorithms for mining frequent closed itemsets have been based on items. In this paper, we use the transaction itself for mining frequent closed itemsets. An efficient algorithm is proposed that is based on a link structure between transactions. Our experimental results show that our algorithm is faster than previously proposed methods. Furthermore, our approach is significantly more efficient for dense databases.
In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm which generates frequent itemsets by only one database scanning. A frequent itemset is subset of an itemset which is accessed by a transaction. For each item, if informations about transactions accessing the item are exist, it is possible to generate frequent itemsets only by the extraction of items haying an identical transaction ID. Proposed method in this paper generates the data structure which stores transaction ID for each item by only one database scanning and generates 2-frequent itemsets by using the hash technique at the same time. k(k$\geq$3)-frequent itemsets are simply found by comparing previously generated data structure and transaction ID. Proposed algorithm can efficiently generate frequent itemsets by only one database scanning .

Recently, due to technical developments of various storage devices and networks, the amount of data increases rapidly. The large volume of data streams poses unique space and time constraints on the data mining process. The continuous characteristic of streaming data necessitates the use of algorithms that require only one scan over the stream for knowledge discovery. Most of the researches based on the support are concerned with the frequent itemsets, but ignore the infrequent itemsets even if it is crucial. In this paper, we propose an efficient method WSFI-Mine(Weighted Support Frequent Itemsets Mine) to mine all frequent itemsets by one scan from the data stream. This method can discover the closed frequent itemsets using DCT(Data Stream Closed Pattern Tree). We compare the performance of our algorithm with DSM-FI and THUI-Mine, under different minimum supports. As results show that WSFI-Mine not only run significant faster, but also consume less memory.
Nowadays, sharing data among organizations is often required during the business collaboration. Data mining technology has enabled efficient extraction of knowledge from large databases. This, however, increases risks of disclosing the sensitive knowledge when the database is released to other parties. To address this privacy issue, one may sanitize the original database so that the sensitive knowledge is hidden. The challenge is to minimize the side effect on the quality of the sanitized database so that non-sensitive knowledge can still be mined. In this paper, we study such a problem in the context of hiding sensitive frequent itemsets by judiciously modifying the transactions in the database. Unlike previous work, we consider the quality of the sanitized database especially on preserving the non-sensitive frequent itemsets. To preserve the non-sensitive frequent itemsets, we propose a border-based approach to efficiently evaluate the impact of any modification to the database during the hiding process. The quality of database can be well maintained by greedily selecting the modifications with minimal side effect. Experiments results are also reported to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

We introduce a efficient vertical mining algorithm that reduces searching complexity for frequent k-itemsets significantly. This method includes sorting items by their LSI(Least Support Itemsets) similarity and then searching frequent itemsets in tree-based manner. The search tree structure provides several useful heuristics and therefore, reduces search space significantly at early stages. Experimental results on various data sets shows that the proposed algorithm improves searching performance compared to other algorithms, especially for a database having long pattern.

Recently, due to technical improvements of storage devices and networks, the amount of data increase rapidly. In addition, it is required to find the knowledge embedded in a data stream as fast as possible. Huge data in a data stream are created continuously and changed fast. Various algorithms for finding frequent itemsets in a data stream are actively proposed. Current researches do not offer appropriate method to find frequent itemsets in which flow of time is reflected but provide only frequent items using total aggregation values. In this paper we proposes a novel algorithm for finding the relative frequent itemsets according to the time in a data stream. We also propose the method to save frequent items and sub-frequent items in order to take limited memory into account and the method to update time variant frequent items. The performance of the proposed method is analyzed through a series of experiments. The proposed method can search both frequent itemsets and relative frequent itemsets only using the action patterns of the students at each time slot. Thus, our method can enhance the effectiveness of learning and make the best plan for individual learning.
The main research problems in a mining frequent itemsets are reducing memory usage and processing time of the mining process, and most of the previous algorithms for finding frequent itemsets are based on an Apriori-property, and they are multi-scan algorithms. Moreover, their processing time are greatly increased as the length of a maximal frequent itemset. To overcome this drawback, another approaches had been actively proposed in previous researches to reduce the processing time. However, they are not efficient on a sparse .data set This paper proposed an efficient mining algorithm for finding frequent itemsets. A novel tree structure, called an $L_2$-tree, was proposed int, and an efficient mining algorithm of frequent itemsets using $L_2$-tree, called an $L_2$-traverse algorithm was also proposed. An $L_2$-tree is constructed from $L_2$, i.e., a set of frequent itemsets of size 2, and an $L_2$-traverse algorithm can find its mining result in a short time by traversing the $L_2$-tree once. To reduce the processing more, this paper also proposed an optimized algorithm $C_3$-traverse, which removes previously an itemset in $L_2$ not to be a frequent itemsets of size 3. Through various experiments, it was verified that the proposed algorithms were efficient in a sparse data set.
This paper suggests the border based HSFI algorithm to hide sensitive frequent itemsets. Node formation of FP-Tree which is different from the previous one uses the border to minimize the impacts of nonsensitive frequent itemsets in hiding process, including the organization of sensitive and border information, and all transaction as well. As a result of applying HSFI algorithms, it is possible to be the example transaction database, by significantly reducing the lost items, it turns out that HSFI algorithm is more effective than the existing algorithm for maintaining the quality of more improved database.
