DSP를 이용한 디지털 변조에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Digital Modulation using DSP)

  • 본 논문에서는 프로그램-가능한(programmable) 소프트웨어 무선(software radio)$^{[1]}$ 디지털 통신을 위한 연구로, ASK(Amplitude Shift Keying), FSK(frequency Shift Keying), 그리고 PSK (Phase Shift Keying) 변조$^{[2]-[4]}$를 DSP(Digital Signal Processor)를 사용하여 프로그램-가능한 소프트웨어(알고리즘)로 구현하였다. 세개 의 서로 다른 변조 방식들, ASK, FSK, 그리고 PSK를 하나의 DSP에 구현하여 선택적 변조가 가능하도록 하였다. 사용된 DSP는 모토롤라(Motorola) 사의, 24-비트, 40 MHz에서 20 MIPS(Million Instruction per Second)로 동작하는 DSP56002$^{[5]-[6]}$이고, A/D (Analog to Digital) 와 D/A(Digital to Analog) 변환기는 크리스털(Crystal)사의 16-비트 그리고 최대 샘플링(sampling) 주파수 50 kHz인 CS4215 코덱 칩(codec chip)$^{[8]}$ 이 사용되었다.

  • 계통 연계형 인버터는 단독운전 조건에서 반드시 전력 공급을 차단해야 한다. 이러한 이유로 분산 발전 시스템은 단독운전을 검출 기능을 반드시 가지고 있어야 한다. 분산 발전용 인버터에 적용되는 일반적인 방법 중에는 Slip-Mode frequency Shift (SMS) 단독운전 검출 기법이 있다. SMS 기법은 계통 전압의 주파수에 따라 무효 전력을 공급하여 단독운전 조건에서 계통 주파수를 허용 범위 밖으로 이동시키는 방법이다. SMS 기법은 안정적으로 단독운전을 검출할 수 있으며, 계통 전류에 고주파를 인가하지 않는다는 장점이 있으나, 무효 전류를 인가하기 때문에 계통 역률이 나빠져서 전력 품질의 저하를 가져온다. 본 논문에서는 계통 전원이 연결되어 있는 정상 조건에서 전력 품질 저하가 없는 수정된 SMS 기법을 제안한다. 600W 단상 인버터 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 유효성을 검증한다.

돌고래 휘슬음을 모방한 frequency shift keying 수중통신기법의 다중경로결합 수신 방법 (Multipath combining method for frequency shift keying underwater communications mimicking dolphin whistle)

  • 본 논문은 수중에서 은밀성을 확보하기 위해 FSK(Frequency Shift Keying)를 이용하여 돌고래 휘슬음을 모방하는 통신 기법과 다중경로 결합 이득을 이용하여 BER(Bit Error Rate) 성능을 높이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 휘슬음을 짧은 시간 구간으로 나누고 그 구간에 심볼의 직교성을 보장하는 FSK 변조신호를 만든다. 그리고 휘슬음을 모방할 때 다중경로 채널에서 심볼간의 ISI(Inter Symbol Interference)가 줄어드는 특징을 이용하여 다중경로 결합 이득을 얻는 방법이다. 제안한 방법의 성능을 보이기 위해 전산모의실험과 실제 호수실험을 진행하였다. 전산모의실험을 통해 다중경로에 의해 추가적인 다중경로 결합 이득이 발생함을 보였다. 호수 실험에서는 제안된 FSK 방법이 20 msec의 심볼 길이와 900 Hz의 변조 대역을 갖는 경우 다중경로 결합 이득을 얻어 0.002의 BER갖고 0.185의 BER을 갖는 CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum)보다 우수함을 보였다. 그리고 모방한 신호와 실제 휘슬 신호의 시간-주파수 영역에서 평균 상호 상관 값을 통해 모방도를 분석하여 제안된 FSK방법이 CSS방법에 비해 높은 모방도를 보였다.

동해에서 주파수 변조에 기반한 장거리 수중음향통신의 해상실험 결과 (Sea trial results of long range underwater acoustic communication based on frequency modulation in the East Sea)

  • 본 논문에서는 2018년 10월 동해에서 수행된 장거리 수중음향통신의 해상실험 결과를 제시한다. 하나의 송신기와 16개의 수직 배열 수신기를 이용하여 수중음향통신 신호를 수집하였으며, 송신기와 수신기 사이의 거리는 최대 90 km로 하였다. 대표적인 디지털 주파수 변조 기법에 해당하는 BFSK(Binary Frequency Shift Keying) 방식과 BCSK(Binary Chirp Shift Keying) 방식으로 정보를 전송하였다. 실험 결과 60 km 전송 거리에서는 모든 경우에서 오류가 나타나지 않았으며, 90 km 전송 거리에서는 채널 부호화 기법이 적용되지 않은 비부호화 비트 오류율에 있어서 BFSK와 BCSK 두 방식 각각 평균 0.0197과 0.0007을 나타내었다.

Estimation of Ocean Current Velocity near Incheon using Radarsat-1 SAR and HF-radar Data

  • This paper presents the results of the ocean surface current velocity estimation using 6 Radarsat-1 SAR images acquired in west coastal area near Incheon. We extracted the surface velocity from SAR images based on the Doppler shift approach in which the azimuth frequency shift is related to the motion of surface target in the radar direction. The Doppler shift was measured by the difference between the Doppler centroid estimated in the range-compressed, azimuth-frequency domain and the nominal Doppler centroid used during the SAR focusing process. The extracted SAR current velocities were statistically compared with the current velocities from the high frequency(HF) radar in terms of averages, standard deviations, and root mean square errors. The problem of the unreliable nominal Doppler centroid for the estimation of the SAR current velocity was corrected by subtracting the difference of averages between SAR and HF-radar current velocities from the SAR current velocity. The corrected SAR current velocity inherits the average of HF-radar data while maintaining high-resolution nature of the original SAR data.

임상 간호사의 교대근무 방향아 circadian rhythm 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Shift Directions of Clinical Nurses on the Circadian Rhythm)

  • The circadian system represents a temporal order which is mediated by the mutual coupling of oscillators and by the synchronizing effects of zeitgebers. It is known that well-being of man depends partly on the maintenance of this order, and that repeated or long lasting disturbances to it such as shift work will Cause harmful effects. This study was a quasi-experimental study to test the effect of shift directions for the clinical nurses on the circadian rhythm. Fourteen nurses working at the general units of Y hospital were selected according to the established criteria. Fourteen subjects were assigned to a weekly shift but the directions of shift work were phase delay first and then phase advance or vice versa. Oral temperature, total sleeping time, frequency of sleep-wake cycle, fatigue, mental performance, and physical symptom were measured during these days except holidays. The data collection period was from April 26, 1993 to July 3, 1993. MANOVA and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used for statistical analysis. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Having worked on evening and night shifts in either phase delay or phase advance schedules, temperature rhythms of shift workers were gradually adapted to the new sleep-wake cycles. A complete adaptation to work on the night shift was achieved the sixth day of the night shift in the phase delay schedule compared to the partial adaptation to the work on the night shift in the phase advance schedule. Accordingly, by putting evening shift between day and night shifts, it will be possible for circadian rhythm to adapt easily to the night shift. 2. There were differences in the total sleeping time, frequency of steep-wake cycle, fatigue, and physical symptom except for mental performance between night shift and day, evening shift. This indicates further that shift workers working on the night shift have a hard time adapting to the shift work compared to the other shifts. 3. Evaluating all the acrophases of temperature rhythm either in phase delay or phase ad-vance schedules, it was shown that night to evening shift in the phase ad-vance schedule revealed the smallest phase move. Also phase advance schedule showed poorer adaptation to shift work than phase delay schedule in connection with total sleeping time, frequency of sleep-wake cycle, fatigue, mental performance, and physical symptom. It is suggested, taken together, these findings reflect that phase delay schedule facilitated the degree of adjustment to the shift work compared to the phase advance schedule.

순환형 교대 근무 남성 근로자의 근무 시간대별 식행동 및 식사의 질 (Dietary Behaviors and Dietary Quality are Determined by the Working Hours of Industrial Male Workers Working in Rotating Shifts)

  • This study investigates the effect of working hours on the dietary behaviors and dietary quality of male industrial workers employed in rotating shifts. The survey was conducted from February to March 2022, enrolling 209 male workers operating in rotational shifts at industries in the Chungcheongnam-do region. Eating behavior and health awareness were investigated during the morning shift, afternoon shift, and night shift for the same subjects. The shift timings were found to be associated with dietary behavior, which had an impact on the dietary quality of workers. Negative effects of shift timings on diet and health were also perceived by the shift workers. The frequency of alcohol consumption was high during the morning shift, and the frequency of night time snack intake was high during the afternoon shift. During the night shift, there was decreased vegetable intake and increased ramyeon intake. Compared to the morning shift, a significant decrease in dietary quality scores was found during the night shift. The workers recognized that rotating shift work negatively affected health, eating habits and sleep. There was a high demand for providing a variety of menus and healthy night snacks in the company cafeteria. When nutritional counseling and educational health services were provided, the willingness to participate was high. Therefore, to improve the health and dietary quality of shift workers, there is a need to provide diets suitable for the working environment and the characteristics, and to provide nutrition management services.

A Study on Performance Analysis for Error Probability in SWSK Systems

  • This paper presents a new method for shift keying using the combination of scaling function and wavelet named scaling wavelet shift keying (SWSK). An algorithm for SWSK modulation is carried out where the scaling function and the wavelet are encoded to 1 and 0 in accordance with the binary input, respectively. Signal energy, correlation coefficient and error probability of SWSK are derived from error probability of frequency shift keying(FSK). The performance is analyzed in terms of error probability and it is simulated in accordance with the kind of the wavelet. Based on the results, we can conclude that the proposed scheme is superior to the performance of the conventional schemes.

  • This paper proposes the optimal design method based on NDZ analysis to secure the islanding defection ability and to maintain the stability and power quality when the grid is connected. A PSiM-based model and analysis of the system is presented, specialty aimed at improving the effectiveness of phase shift anti-islanding method with frequency feedback, which causes the inverter current to be generated slightly lower or higher in frequency than the frequency of the terminal voltage. The proposed method can cause frequency jump with leading and lagging phase of output current in two line cycles. As a result, the proposed algorithm is more sensitive and reliable than the conventional phase shift method. Experimental results, on a 3 kW inverter connected to 220 V, 60 Hz utility, are discussed.

Frequency Dependency of Multi-layer OLED Current Density-voltage Shift and Its Application to Digitally-driven AMOLED

  • We report, for the first time, operation frequency dependence of current density-voltage ($J_{OLED}-V_{OLED}$) shift for multi-layer organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). When the OLEDs were electrically stressed for 21 hours with 50% duty voltage pulses at 60, 120, 240, and 360 Hz, the JOLED-VOLED shifts were suppressed by half for 360 Hz operation compared with 60 Hz operation, but with little change in emission efficiencies. This frequency dependent $J_{OLED}-V_{OLED}$ shift is believed to be commonly observed for typical multi-layer OLEDs and can be used to further improve lifetime of digitally-driven active-matrix OLED displays.
