전자파 조사 흰쥐 간조직의 Mixed Function Oxidase System과 산화적 손상에 미치는 Catechin의 영향 (Effects of Catechin on Mixed Function Oxidase System and Oxidative Damage in Rat Liver Exposed to Microwave)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of catechin on the changes of microsomal mixed function oxidase(MFO) system and oxidative damage in rat liver exposed to microwave. Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 200$\pm$10g body weight were randomly assigned to one normal and microwave exposed groups: microwave exposed groups were divided three groups: catechin free diet(MW) group, 0.25% catechin(MW+0.25C) group and 0.5% catechin(MW+0.5C) group to the levels of dietary catechin supplementation. The rats were irradiated with microwave at frequency 2.45GHz for 15 min and then the changes pattern of mixed function oxidase system and oxidative damage were investigated for 16 days. The activity of XOD in MW group was increased from 4 day to 8 days after irradiation, compared to normal group and decreased to the level of normal group 16 days. But catechin supplementation group were maintained to the normal level. The contents of cytochrome P(sub)450 and NADPH cytochrome P(sub)450 reductase activities in liver of MW group was increased from 4 day to 8 day after irradiation, compared to normal group and decreased to the level of normal group at 16 day. But catechin supplementation group were recovered to the normal level. The contents of superoxide radical in liver of MW group was increased 1.28, 1.25, 1.17 fold of normal group at 4,6 and 8 days days after irradiation. respectively, but catechin supplementation group were maintained the normal level. The contents of lipifuscin in liver have a same tendency in superoxide radical contents. These result suggested that the supplementation of catechin have control the mixed function oxidase system and oxidative damage and that may help to recover tissues from microwave damage.   • 주파수 비선택적 Rayleigh 페이딩 채널에서 준 최적 빔 형성과 페이딩 상관이 폐루프 송신 안테나 다이버시티(CTD) 시스템에 주는 영향을 분석하였다. 이동국에서 채널을 완벽하게 예측하는 것은 빠르게 변하는 채널의 페이딩으로 매우 어렵기 때문에 각각의 송신 안테나에 불완전한 가중치를 곱하게 된다. 이 불완전한 가중치는 준 최적의 빔을 형성하게 되고, CTD 시스템의 성능을 저하시킨다. 무선 채널의 페이딩 상관 역시 다이버시티 이득을 감소시키는 하나의 요소이다. CTD 시스템의 비트오율을 채널 예측 에러, 채널 상관계수, 궤환지연, 그리고 페이딩 지수의 함수로 해석적으로 유도하였다. 해석 결과 채널 예측에러가 채널상관보다 시스템성능에 더 많은 영향을 주는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper discusses the multi-level optimization method in dynamic optimization problems through stiffened plate of ship structures. In structural optimization the computational cost increases rapidly as the number of design variables increases. And we need a great amount of cal-culation and time on problems of modified dynamic characteristics of large and complicated struc-tures. In this paper the multi-level optimization is proposed which decreases computational time and cost. the dynamic optimum designs of stiffened plate that control the natural frequency and minimize weight subjected to constraints condition are derived. The way to apply the multi-level optimization methods in this study follow: In the first step the dynamic characteristics is controlled for the two-dimensional model of stiffened plate by sensitivity analysis and quasi-least squares methods. In the second step the cross-section of the stiffener is decided so that the weight is minimized under needed constraints by the steepest descent or ascent method. In the third the three-dimensional model is made based on the results of the first step and the second step confirmation and finer tuning of the objective function are carried out. It is shown that the results are effective in the optimum modification for dynamic characteristics of the stiffened plate.

Design of a Light and Small Dual-band Airborne Despun Optical System

  • In aerial cameras, image quality is easily affected by weather, temperature, and the attitude of the aircraft. Aiming at this phenomenon, based on the theory of two-step zoom optical systems, a dual-band optical-despun two-step zoom optical system is designed. The system has a small field of view of 2.00° × 1.60°, and a large field of view of 4.00° × 3.20°. In the zoom process, the wavelength range is 0.45-0.70 ㎛ and 0.75-1.10 ㎛, and the size of the optical system is 168 mm (L) × 90 mm (W) × 60 mm (H). The overall lens weight is only 170.8 g, which has advantages for miniaturization and light weight. At the Nyquist frequency of 104 lp/mm, the modulation transfer function of the visible-light optical system is more than 0.44, and that of the near-infrared optical system is more than 0.30, both of which have good imaging quality and tolerance characteristics in the range of -45 to 60 ℃.

다용 한약처방 투여가 흰쥐의 간기능에 미치는 영향 - 십전대보탕, 육미지황탕, 보중익기탕 및 오적산을 중심으로 - (Effects of High Frequency Herbal Medication Administrations on the Liver Functions in Rats - Focusing on Sipjeondaebo-tang, Yukmaijihwang-tang, Bojungikgi-tang, and Ojeoksan -)

  • Background : Traditional herbal medicine is used extensively among the Korean populations, and other Asian countries employ similar therapies as well. In recent years, extensive focus was laid on adulteration of the herbal medicine with liver damage. The use of herbal preparations as remedies for various medical conditions has continuously increased in Korea. Large proportions of Korean patients use herbal medicinal products, folk remedies, and health food. However, studies on the safety of herbal products are conducted on a less than sufficient basis even in the countries like Korea where herbal medicine is being used extensively. Some of the reports on the safety of herbs were done by the doctors of western medicine but lack of knowledge and misclassification led to misunderstandings. Objectives : This study aims to verify the evidences on safety of frequently used 4 herbal medications (Sipjeondaebo-tang, Bojungikgi-tang, Ohjeok-San, Yukmaijihwang-tang) in the lab animal model. Methods : Sprague-Dawley rats was treated by 4 herbal medications during 31 days. After 1 month, we checked body weight, liver weight, and serum enzyme associated with liver function. Results : There is no significant difference in body weight and liver weight after 1 month of administrations. In all experimental groups, no abnormal findings was observed in histotogical research and lab liver Functions test(AST, ALT etc). Conclusions : These four herbal medications, frequently used in oriental medicine clinics and hospitals, are safe from hepatoxic events in the lab animal model.

플라이오메트릭과 웨이트 트레이닝이 운동 수행 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of plyometric exercise and weight training on athletic performances)

  • Background: Plyometric exercise is an exercise exerting forceful power in a brief period using isotonic activation. It is effective to improve reaction of muscle, agility, endurance and athletics performance. Weight training is an exericse improving muscular strength, endurance and respirating ability applying diversely in frequency and load of exercise Plyometric exercise and Weight training is to facilitate the athletics performance though improving the function of lower limb muscle, there is a difference that Plyometic jump squats is the way to improve agility and Weight training is the way to improve muscular strength. Therefore, it is necessary to know how this difference effects on athletics performance as measuring ankle, ROM, and jumping ability. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Method: This study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 40 university students, who were randomly assigned to jump squat and calf raise groups (n=20 per group). For each subject, we measured the range of motion of the ankle joint before and after exercise, as well as a standing broad jump and vertical jump test performance. We compared the performance indices before and after exercises using paired t-tests, and between groups using independent-samples t-tests. Conclusions: Both jump squat and calf raise exercises improved ankle joint dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, as well as standing broad jump and vertical jump height performance. However, there were no significant differences before versus after exercise, or between exercise types. Although jump squats and calf raises have different purposes, it is thought that, in combination, these exercises improve performance more effectively than either alone, and that such a combined exercise program improves the quality of training in both the general public and athletes in various sports.

방염처리가 톱밥-귤박 혼합파티클보드의 흡음성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Flame Resistant Treatment on The Sound Absorption Capability of Sawdust-mandarin Peel Composite Particleboard)

  • 방염처리에 의한 톱밥-귤박 혼합파티클보드의 방염성능과 흡음성능의 변화를 관찰하고자 톱밥과 귤박을 혼합하여 파티클보드를 제작하였다. 보드로부터 원반형 시험편을 제작하여 무처리 보드에 2마이크로폰 전달함수법으로 보드의 흡음률을 측정하고 동일한 시험편에 방염수지를 도포한 후 동일한 방법으로 흡음률을 측정하였다. 방염성능 시험은 무처리와 방염처리 톱밥-귤박 혼합파티클보드를 45도 연소챔버에서 연소하여 탄화면적을 비교하였다. 방염처리에 의해시험편의 중량은 6.3% 정도 증가하였으며 탄화면적은 46.7% 정도 감소하였다. 흡음률은 측정주파수범위(500-6,400 Hz) 에서 방염처리 시험편이 무처리 시험편보다 약간 낮게 나타났다. 무처리와 방염처리 톱밥-귤박 혼합파티클보드의 흡음성능은 측정주파수 영역에서 상용 석고보드(두께 11 mm)보다 우수한 흡음성능을 나타내어 비내력벽 등의 흡음판으로의 이용이 기대된다.

Employing GDQ method for exploring undamped vibrational performance of CNT-reinforced porous coupled curved beam

  • Coupled porous curved beams, due to their low weight and high flexibility, have many applications in engineering. This study investigates the vibration behavior of coupled porous curved beams in different boundary conditions. The system consists of two curved beams connected by a mid-layer of elastic springs. These beams are made of various materials, such as homogenous steel foam, and composite materials with PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) and SWCNT (single-walled carbon nanotube) used as the matrix and nanofillers, respectively. To obtain equivalent material properties, the role of mixture (RoM) was employed, followed by the implementation of the porosity function. The system's governing equations were obtained by employing FSDT and Hamilton's law. To investigate thermal vibration, temperature was implemented as a load in the governing equations. The GDQ method was used to solve these equations. To demonstrate the applicability of the GDQ method in calculating the frequencies of the system and the correctness of the developed program, a validation study was conducted. After validation, numerous examples were presented to investigate the behavior of single and coupled curved beams in various material properties and boundary conditions. The results indicate that the frequencies of the curved beams and the system depend highly on the amount of porosity (n) and the distribution pattern. The system frequencies decreased with an increase in the porosity coefficient. The stiffness of the springs had no effect on the first mode frequency but increased frequencies of other modes in a specific range. The frequencies of the system decreased with an increase in environmental temperature.

생체 센서 시스템을 동작하는 동안 홈 네트워크 시스템의 알고리즘 구현 (Implementation of Algorithm for home network during a bio-sensor system activities)

  • 본 논문은 홈 케어를 위해 생체 센서 시스템으로 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구성하여 생체 신호가 전달되도록 생체 신호 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 알고리즘의 구성 조건은 입력함수, 주파수 변화 함수, 변위 점 산출 발생 함수, 위치 변동 축 발생 함수, 축 변화 흔들림 변위(Sway Displacement)의 함수에서 변위치의 최대 값과 최소 값을 기준에 조정할 수 있는 단계로 주파수 변동이 0.01 단위로 변화가 있도록 조정하였다. 산출되는 항목은 맥박(Heart Rate), 체온(Temperature), 체중(Weight) 로 구성되고, 파형으로 신체적 균형정도를 확인하고 건강의 상태를 확인하도록 의미를 부여하였다. 본연구의 결과로 홈 네트워크를 통해 헬스 센터 및 건강관리 중앙 시스템에 단말기를 통해 전송된 알고리즘으로 홈 내 건강 관리시스템이 진행되는 결과를 얻을 수 있고, 다양한 신체적 파라메타를 통한 모니터링 기능을 갖춘 시스템관리가 형성 될 것으로 예상된다.

Robust stability analysis of real-time hybrid simulation considering system uncertainty and delay compensation

  • Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) which combines physical experiment with numerical simulation is an advanced method to investigate dynamic responses of structures subjected to earthquake excitation. The desired displacement computed from the numerical substructure is applied to the experimental substructure by a servo-hydraulic actuator in real time. However, the magnitude decay and phase delay resulted from the dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system affect the accuracy and stability of a RTHS. In this study, a robust stability analysis procedure for a general single-degree-of-freedom structure is proposed which considers the uncertainty of servo-hydraulic system dynamics. For discussion purposes, the experimental substructure is a portion of the entire structure in terms of a ratio of stiffness, mass, and damping, respectively. The dynamics of the servo-hydraulic system is represented by a multiplicative uncertainty model which is based on a nominal system and a weight function. The nominal system can be obtained by conducting system identification prior to the RTHS. A first-order weight function formulation is proposed which needs to cover the worst possible uncertainty envelope over the frequency range of interest. Then, the Nyquist plot of the perturbed system is adopted to determine the robust stability margin of the RTHS. In addition, three common delay compensation methods are applied to the RTHS loop to investigate the effect of delay compensation on the robust stability. Numerical simulation and experimental validation results indicate that the proposed procedure is able to obtain a robust stability margin in terms of mass, damping, and stiffness ratio which provides a simple and conservative approach to assess the stability of a RTHS before it is conducted.
