Line Impedance Estimation Based Adaptive Droop Control Method for Parallel Inverters

  • This paper presents a new load sharing control for use between paralleled three-phase inverters in an islanded microgrid based on the online line impedance estimation by the use of a Kalman filter. In this study, the mismatch of power sharing when the line impedance changes due to temperature, frequency, significant differences in line parameters and the requirements of the Plug-and-Play mode for inverters connected to a microgrid has been solved. In addition, this paper also presents a new droop control method working with the line impedance that is different from the traditional droop algorithm when the line impedance is assumed to be pure resistance or pure inductance. In this paper, the line impedance estimation for parallel inverters uses the minimum square method combined with a Kalman filter. In addition, the secondary control loops are designed to restore the voltage amplitude and frequency of a microgrid by using a combined nominal value SOGI-PLL with a generalized integral block and phase lock loop to monitor the exact voltage magnitude and frequency phase at the PCC. A control model has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink with three voltage source inverters connected in parallel for different ratios of power sharing. The simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed control method.

  • This paper investigates the droop control of parallel inverters for an islanded mode of microgrid. Frequency and voltage droop control is one of power control and load demand sharing methods. However, although the active power is properly shared, the reactive power sharing is inaccurate with conventional method due to the unequal line impedances and the power coupling of active - reactive power. In order to solve this problem, an improved droop method with virtual inductor concept and a voltage and current controller properly designed have been considered and analyzed through the PSiM simulation. The performance of improved droop method is analyzed in not only low-voltage line but also medium voltage line.

  • The parallel operation system of multiple uninterruptible power supplies(UPSs) is used to increase power capacity of the system or to secure higher reliability at critical loads. In the parallel operation of the two UPSs, the load-sharing control to maintain the current balance between them is a key technique. Because a UPS has low output impedance and quick response characteristics, in case of an unbalanced load inverter output current changes very rapidly and thereby can instantaneously reach an overload condition. In this study, high precise load-sharing controller is proposed and implemented for the parallel operation system of two UPSs with low impedance characteristics and this controller controls the frequency and the voltage to minimize the active power component and the reactive power component which are gotten from the current difference between two UPSs. And then a good performance of the proposed method is verified by experiments in the parallel operation system with two 40KVA UPSs.

  • In this paper, an advanced torque control scheme of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) using modified non-linear logical TSF (Torque Sharing Function) based on the DITC (direct instantaneous torque control) with PWM(Pulse Width Modulation). In the proposed control scheme, a simple calculation of PWM duty ratio, switching rules from DITC and non-linear torque sharing function can reduce the torque ripple with fixed switching frequency. The proposed control scheme is verified by the computer simulations and experimental results.

  • This paper presents a new architecture of unified IP/IT/IQ/MC circuit for H.264 decoder based on operation sharing and efficient scheduling. The resultant circuit based on the proposed architecture uses only 12 adders and 1 multiplier. We further reduced the circuit size by sharing buffers. Our circuit consists of 47,810 gates and operates at the maximum operating frequency of 117MHz with 130nm standard cells.

  • The module UPS can flexibly implement expansion of power system capacities. Furthermore, it can be used to build up the parallel redundant system to improve the reliability of power system operation. To realize the module UPS, load sharing without interconnection among parallel connecting modules as well as a small scale and lightweight topology is necessary. In this paper, the three-arm converter/inverter is compared with the general full-bridge and half-bridge topology from a practical point of view and chosen as the module UPS topology. The switching control approaches based on a pulse width modulation of the converter and inverter of the system are presented independently The frequency and voltage droop method is applied to parallel operation control to achieve load sharing. Two prototype 3kVA modules are designed and implemented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Experimental results show that the three-arm UPS system has a high power factor, a low distortion of output voltage and input current, and good load sharing characteristic.

  • In this paper, the charge control with the input voltage feedback is proposed for the input series-output series-output parallel connected converter configuration for the high speed train power system application. This control scheme accomplishes the output current sharing for the output-parallel connected modules as well as the input voltage sharing for the input series connected modules for all operating conditions including the transients. It also offers the robustness for the input voltage sharing control according to the component value mismatches among the modules. And this configuration enables the usage of MOSFET for a high voltage system allowing a higher switching frequency for lighter system weight and smaller size. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified through the experimental results.

  • A high frequency resonant inverter consisting of three unit half-bridge serial resonant inverter used as power source of induction heating at high frequency is presented in this paper. As a output power control strategy, tine-sharing gate control method is applied. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized parameters. Also, according to the calculated characteristics value, a method of the circuit design and operating characteristics of the inverter is proposed. This paper proves the validity of theoretical analysis through the experiment. This proposed inverter show that it can be practically used in future as power source system for induction heating application, DC-DC converter etc.

900MHz 대역의 LR-WPAN에 의한 간섭영향 분석 (Analysis of Interference Effects Caused by LR-WPAN in the Frequency Band of 900MHz)

  • IEEE 802.15.4로 알려진 LR-WPAN(Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network)은 현재까지 발표된 시스템 규격 중에서 가장 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)을 구현하기 적합한 시스템으로 인식되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 LR-WPAN이 900MHz 대역에서 이용되는 경우, 타 시스템에 미치는 간섭 영향을 시뮬레이션하였다. 국내의 900MHz 대역 주파수 이용 현황을 고려해보면, LR-WPAN이 RFID/USN으로 할당된 주파수를 공유해서 이용하는 것을 생각해볼 수 있다. LR-WPAN이 RFID/USN 대역을 공동으로 이용하는 경우에 대한 간섭 시뮬레이션 결과, CT1과 RFID에 미치는 간섭 확률은 각각 2.5%와 2.1%로 계산되었으며, 공공통신에 미치는 간섭영향이 없기 위해서는 약 100m 이상의 보호거리가 필요한 것으로 계산되었다.

한방의료의 건강보험 본인부담 실태분석 (Cost Sharing System of Oriental Medical Services in the National Health Insurance)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the structure of cost-sharing for oriental medical services in the national health insurance. Out-of-pocket payment in ambulatory oriental medical care is a co-payment of KRW3,000 up to total expenses of KRW15,000, and co-insurance rate of 30% thereafetr. The empirical analysis based on medial claims data shows that the frequency of medical claims for outpatient care are mostly concentrated just below a total expenses of KRW15,000, and it decreases beyond a total expense of KRW15,000, while it rebounds between KRW17,000${\sim}$20,000. This means the current co-payment(KRW3,000) in oriental medical services should be applied up to a total payment of KRW17,000${\sim}$20,000, or the level of co-payment should be adjusted upward to KRW45,000 in order to be consistent in cost-sharing, between co-payment and co-insurance.
