화물수요추정방법 개선을 위한 국내외 연구동향 분석 연구 (Research Trend for Improvement of Freight Demand Estimation Methods)

  • 기존의 전통적 4단계 수요추정기법은 화물의 물류특성(Logistics Characteristics)을 반영하지 못하는 한계가 있다. 이로 인해 물류시설의 신설 개선에 따른 수요 및 편익변화를 제대로 추정을 하지 못한다. 따라서 화물수요추정 과정의 신뢰도 및 활용도 제고를 위해 물류특성을 고려한 화물수요추정방법의 개발이 요구된다. 화물수요추정방법의 개선을 위해 1990년대 후반부터 유럽을 중심으로 물류행태 반영방법에 대한 연구가 시작되었다. 이에 반해 우리나라는 이러한 분야에 대한 연구가 미흡한 편이다. 본 연구는 물류행태 반영방법 및 대규모 화물조사에 대한 국내외 학술대회 발표논문, 학술지 게재논문 및 연구보고서 등을 바탕으로 1) 화물 품목구분, 2) P/C(Production- Consumption) 구축, 3) 물류 네트워크 구축, 4) 물류체인모형(logistics chain model) 구축, 5) 대규모 화물조사 분야에 대한 국내외 사례 및 최근 연구동향을 조사 분석하고 시사점을 도출하였다. 또한 화물수요추정방법 개선을 위한 발전방향을 제시하였다.

  • 도시 내 물류 활동과 관련하여 직면한 중요한 문제 중 하나는 교통체증 심화에 따른 수송효율성 저하이다. 이러한 교통체증의 심화는 화물차량의 평균 통행속도를 감소시켜 운행효율을 저하시키는 것은 물론 수송비용을 증가시켜 궁극적으로 물류비 증가를 초래하고 있다. 이러한 물류비의 상승은 선진물류체계로 전환하는 과정에 있어서 장애가 되는 주요 원인으로 작용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대부분 자가용 화물차량이 1톤 이하의 소형트럭임을 감안할 때 이러한 자가용 화물차량의 증가가 교통 혼잡의 원인이 되어 수송비 증가와 그에 따른 물류비 상승으로 연결되는 문제를 해결하기 위해 실측 조사된 RP (Revealed Preference)자료를 이용한 로지스틱 회귀분석으로 영업용 화물차량 선택에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하고자 하였으며, 이에 따른 영업용 화물차량 이용 장려 정책을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In this Study, we analyzed fare rates of railway by calculating the price elastic of railroad freight. The transportation means of each section needs competitive carriage charges in market price. There are many factors when choosing the means of freight transportation. Therefore the main objective of this paper lies in the study of price elastic theory and evaluating elastic of goods rates of railway.

  • Recently, in order to improve the efficiency of freight transportation on existing lines, a new freight train model is needed to develop urgently. The weight balance of the cargo for the freight vehicle is very important for the stability of the running train and the safe transportation of the cargo. For achieving the cargo weight balance, we proposed a Cargo Balancing Control(CBC) system on the Freight vehicle equipped in between under frame of car body and bogie system. The Cargo Safety Monitoring(CSM) system was designed to supervise status of the Cargo on freight train. The monitoring system can display real time status data from sensors and various signals effectively. We suggested that this paper is a very useful approach for keeping the safety of running freight trains on existing lines.

Estimation of Freight Trip Generation Rates based on Commodity Flow Survey in Korea

  • In Korea, almost 700 industrial parks are under operation. Generally, industrial parks consist of national industrial parks and local industrial parks which are managed by a central government and by local governments respectively. The developing countries such as Korea, China and Vietnam etc. have constructed many industrial parks, which result in the change of land use pattern and also affect future trip demands. Therefore, in estimating traffic demands, it is very important to consider the industrial park development. This study aims to improve the methodology in estimating a freight trip generation rate with the data based on a nationwide commodity freight survey. The result showed that it is desirable to apply freight trip generation rate by the industry sector in estimating freight trip generations and using the production area of firm as an indicator. Specially, the reliability of the rates through a survey could be made sure because a sample rate based on firms in industrial parks was over 25% and the response rate was over 67%. The sample rate and response rate are very superior as compared to surveys conducted in many other countries. Because industrial parks have significant effects on forecasting transportation demand in pre-feasibility studies of transport and logistics projects, it is expected that the accuracy of freight trip demands would be improved through the results of this study.

  • Various problems on logistics systems have been dealt with recently as research issues since they were regarded critical for taking up a better position in the increasingly competitive global market. In particular, the freight transportation is considered as a key factor which affects the economic competitiveness of a whole nation as well as the production cost of individual companies. The objective of this study is to identify main issues and review recent foreign and domestic studies related to the freight transportation. The studies are classified into two categories according to the hierarchical level in the decision making process: infra structure design and transportation strategies, service design and operation. Main issues are introduced with a brief review on the related literature and methodologies applied.

  • In order to make an feasibility analysis of such as rail and road transportation infrastructure, it is common to perform economic analysis. one of the most important thing is how to estimate the operation cost of freight rail because that is required during the analysis time period and sometimes that takes more cost than the construction cost. Therefore, this study is to perform the verification of freight rail operation cost which is applied to the economic analysis of railway investment analysis. for this, it is compared truck operation cost variation with freight rail operation cost, when freight volume is converted from road to railway. In conclusion the cost variation of railway part is bigger than road part so it is necessary to improve the operation cost of freight rail estimation process.

소규모 물량을 가진 간선수송문제의 수송계획 (Truck Scheduling for Linehaul Operations with Small Amount of Shipment)

  • One of the most important problems encountered by parcel transportation firms or LTL (Less-than-truckload) firms is the planning of daily linehaul operations. The transportation firm's goal is to determine the most efficient way to move all freight from its originating terminal to its destination terminal after each shipment is picked up from the shipping dock. The purpose of this study is to design a transportation system and develop an efficient scheduling algorithm for linehaul operations carrying small amount of shipment. This paper presents three approaches for efficient linehaul operations. The first approach examines drivers using the roundtrips which start from a terminal, visit several terminals, and return to the starting terminal. The second approach uses a freight assembly center where drivers take freight for a number of destination terminals which they then swap for freight for their starting terminal. The third approach is similar to the second approach in that it uses a transshipment point like a freight assembly terminal for shipment, but it has several transshipment points since each shipment may have a different transshipment point. In this study, we developed a mathematical formulation and algorithm for each approach. The experimental results using data of a LTL firm show that the third approach is more efficient than the other two. Mileage and overnight stays of the third approach are reduced by 10% and 30%, respectively.

  • This study aims to investigate the difference in the perception of shippers on the quality of air freight service between air express and air freight forwarders. This study suggests hypothesis verification and implications on importance-performance between two groups of air express and air freight forwarders. In this study, we find that important variables through paired t-test and importance-performance analysis. As a result of paired t-test, there was a difference in the use variables of the document work variables through computerization in the importance area. In the satisfaction area, there was a difference between the groups in the response to customer request and the response to accidents. The variables that need to improve the focus derived from the importance-performance analysis are document work through computer and response to accidents. It is necessary to observe and manage the response of shippers continuously by holding various transportation schedules in the schedule area, possibility of adjustment of transportation schedule, regular freight and schedule provision.
