Different from visible horror elements that confront the characters directly and do physical harms, invisible horror elements are expressed through suggestion and imagination and their realities are not disclosed. For the disclosure of the realities of invisible horror elements, they are expressed through the overturned relation between the subject and victim of horror as in 'The Others' or through body snatching as in 'The Happening' and 'Paranormal Activity'. The overturn of relation and body snatching are connected to cannibalism in that the former causes a sudden change of personality and the latter takes the body of others. Cannibalism and the change of personality belong to the formalization and illogic of lower order resulting from cannibalism. The meaning of invisible horror elements in films seems to be contradictory to the original meaning of cannibalism, which is entering the sphere of utopian freedom, but considering that the reversed role resolves conflicts and tensions from terror and gives relief from fear, the meaning may be consistent with the spirit of cannibalism, namely, entering 'the sphere of freedom. In this study, the author attempted to analyze how the expression and plot of films showing invisible horror elements are related with cannibalism.

This study considers types of expression and examines aesthetic characteristics by analyzing images expressed through space directing at Chanel Fashion Shows. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The expression types on space directing at Chanel Fashion Shows are what is presented by distributing huge objects associated with Fashion Shows at the center or back of the stage, integrating several detailed decorative elements while maintaining the morphological characteristics of the runway in a linear form, and utilizing an inartificial place or newly forming the whole stage. The symbolism characteristic was first indicated for the aesthetic characteristics on space directing at Chanel Fashion Shows. Symbolism is indicated through the identification of an implicit meaning towards a specific object. The symbolism was highlighted utilizing elements or stories that have a deep association with Chanel. Second, the characteristic of ecology was expressed through the recognition of the importance of the ecological environment by escaping the harmful practices of civilization such as environmental disasters and human alienation. The expression of visual ecology was emphasized utilizing themes related to environmental disasters or reviving the space of primitive nature. Third, the characteristic of fantasy was shown to express thoughts that originated from the human yearning for the ideal world contrary to an incomplete society. Fantasy was created by the inaccessible object in reality and a change in spatial structure. Fourth, the characteristics of amusement expressed pleasure, which is the instinctive desire truly immanent in a human being. It was natural amusement, which was advocated as freedom through the integration of neutrality, integrating either diverse elements (which are naturally recognized in our daily life) into Fashion Shows or amusement, which expressed newness through utilizing unusual objects in Fashion Shows.

This study is to propose the philosophical direction of public library services based on human rights. To accomplish this purpose, this study comparatively analyzed key concepts from 13 statements related to IFLA as well as UDHR with the inductive approach for qualitative data analysis. The result shows that the most important concepts of human right emphasized from IFLA statements are 1) UDHR Article 19: Freedom of opinion and expression, and Freedom of information access, 2) Article 2: No distinction of any kind, Article 12: Privacy, and Article 26: Education, 3) Article 18: Freedom of thoughts, conscience and religion, and Article 27: Cultural life. From this result, this study finally suggests that the concept of human rights should be added to the Korean Library Law.
To satisfy consumers' desire to enjoy their own individuality and cultural trends, the discovery of various materials and the expression of materials embodying their characteristics are increasingly important in the fashion jewelry industry. This study examines, paper mulberry fiber, a raw material of hanji that has been excavated as a new material for fashion jewelry, is durable as wall as, soft and easy to form, has a unique texture along with, excellent aesthetic quality, and expresses various colors, thereby differentiating itself from traditional fashion jewelry materials. The material itself also has symbolic significance as an approach to discovering new sustainable materials for fashion jewelry to ensure increased specificity of the product based on the premise of freedom of expression. The weight and optimal drying time of chicken fiber were derived for the study of fashion jewelry expression using the characteristics of paper mulberry fiber. The techniques of casting, deflection, packing and winding (winding beads with fibers and straps) were derived and four brooches were produced in total. This study is meaningful for the future of, the fashion jewelry industry as it presents the uses of new materials such as paper mulberry fiber to induce multidisciplinary consumption and to suggest a direction for the creation of new value-added products. Further, in order to expand the realm of fashion jewelry industry with our own competitive products that have secured our cultural identity and uniqueness in the global market, there must be continued follow-up research on mass production methods for industrialization.
Although in art an idea which visualizes a certain concept is generally such an essential part as it would be decisive to the success or failure of an art work in reality various difficulties are involved in idea making. Thus, directions for the idea making for visualization works are suggested in this paper. This paper classifies several cases of expression skills among non-abstracts showing the contents which visualize abstract concepts in western art after Renaissance when freedom of individual artistic expression and personal characteristics initiated. Also, this paper selects and introduces art works in which expression skills can be obviously explained. The expression skills are divided into symbolizing, allegory, specific pattern, non-abstract skills of surrealism, metaphysical distortion of logic and situation fixing, and specific examples on how the abstract concepts are formed and delivered are described. This is a case study done for the purpose of supplying help for the idea making in the applied art field which is lack of this kind of study.
In this paper, a novel framework that synthesizes and clones facial expression in parameter spaces is presented. To overcome the difficulties in manipulating face geometry models with high degrees of freedom, many parameterization methods have been introduced. In this paper, a data-driven parameterization method is proposed that represents a variety of expressions with a small set of fundamental independent movements based on the ICA technique. The face deformation due to the parameters is also learned from the data to capture the nonlinearity of facial movements. With this parameterization, one can control the expression of an animated character's face by the parameters. By separating the parameterization and the deformation learning process, we believe that we can adopt this framework for a variety applications including expression synthesis and cloning. The experimental result demonstrates the efficient production of realistic expressions using the proposed method.
By conceptualizing UCC users' active behavior, this study newly presents two key concepts, 'self-expression' and 'artistic activity' of UCC users. Then, this study suggests a research framework to analyze text, image, and video UCC adoption processes by integrating those concepts with already-built UCC research tradition. Using the framework, we found that individuals who has a hard time expressing themselves in reality are likely to have a favorable attitude toward UCC, and the stronger the faith about the justice of self-expression and its freedom, the more the favorable attitude toward UCC. Furthermore, we confirmed that individuals who are very interested in artistic activity, and individuals who has high self-efficacy to their artistic talent are likely to participates more in UCC production. The role of other factors such as perceived enjoyment, the perception of critical mass of UCC adoption, and subjective norm also were discussed with limitations of this study.
The pursuit of freedom by the individual--desire to be liberated from all forms of restrictions-- is one of the defining character-istic of the modern society. As costume is, in part, a product of the spirit of the times, it was only natural that this desire for freedom would find its expression in modern costume as well. Among various forms of restrictions, differentiaton by sex has placed one of the most significant binding influences on individual behavior. From early times, the dichotomous division by sex was incorporated into the disign of costume, and the traditional differestriction of costume by sex imposed a significant restriction on the background,“the modern androhynous look”was born as a by-product of the sexual liberation movement in the second half of the 20th century, based on the concept of the individual as a complete human being rather than as a member exclusively of either the male or the female sex. This paper seeks to examine the androgynous look within a coherent theoretical frame-work, and explore new design possibilities by analyzing and understanding the visual characteristics of the androgynous look. In addition, this paper seeks to define the functional aspects of the androgynous look based on the premise that costume is an embodiment of the spirit of the times. As for research methodology, both theoretical and historical methods are employed. Through a theoretical examination of historical documents, the meaning of the androgynous look is explored from various angles, and order to examine its place in modern fashion, an-drogynous styles are categorized and system atically analyzed. The main findings of the paper can be summarized as follows : 1. Androgyny is a compound word consisting of“andro-”(meaning man) and“gyn-”(meaning woman). In modern times, this word has been associated with the socio-cultural aspect of gender rather than the physical or physiological aspect with the pshchological characteristics of the male and female sexes. Androgynous styles also appear in fashion and general arts such as drama, film, dance, and music. In fashion, the androgynous look, represented by the visual superimposition of “masculine”and “faminine”elements, has emerged as a major element of the 20th-century costume, and has gained broad acceptance among those free spirits wishing to be liberated from the conventional conceptions of male clothing, and the unisex look. 3. The androgynous look in modern fashion reflects the spirit of the 20th century society and culture, and performs various functions as follows : expression of fun, change in gender roles, expression of the inner consciousness, and pursuit of the ideal human type.

This study considers expression techniques and aesthetic values in the images of head dress reflected in a natural motif. The conclusions of the study are as follows. The first type is the realistic expression (52.4%) such as the reproduction of a natural object's essential form (27.0%), the partial derivation of the natural object (19.3%), and the planarization for the actual image of the natural object (6.1%). The second type is a metaphorical expression (39.0%) which emphasizes the morphological characteristics of nature (18.2%), the structuration of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or two-dimensional form (11.5%), and the abstract expression of the form in the natural object (9.3%). The third type is a hybrid expression (8.6%) that is a compromise between practical (or metaphorical expressions) so that expression techniques represent a compromise between the natural object's essential form and abstract expression (4.6%) or the combination of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or a two-dimensional visualization (4.0%). Aesthetic head dress values reflected in the natural motif first indicate a primitive value. This state of natural instinct recreates the natural object or combines part of the biological elements of the natural object to create an inducement to escape from the practical world. The second is amusement in the expression of animals in dynamic and humorous forms creates an illusion of animals being alive with a representative playful enjoyment. The third is abstraction that grant freedom in the observer's aesthetic rational through a reinterpretation of the fashion designer. The fourth is eclecticism where a compromise represents an act of mixing a variety of independent factors to create harmony with the imagery of nature created through the grafting of diverse expression techniques that break away from stereotypes of existing natural objects to create a type of nature that cultivates new values.
The history of contemporary art in the 20th century can be said the history of changes. Today the variety of objects destroy the boundaries of each genre. This study aims to understand the relationship between fashion and art that becomes closer by examining contemporary art in the Gwangju Biennale 2008 to enlarge the range of understanding of mutual communication between contemporary art and fabrics which are the object of fashion. The research method was to investigate the characteristics and expression methods of object fabrics shown in contemporary art through the review of papers published at home and abroad, related literatures, and Internet materials. Also, the meaning, technique, and methods of fabrics were analyzed from works introduced in the Gwangju Biennale 2008. In order to achieve this purpose, fabric was examined as the object of work in Gwangju Biennale 2008. As a result, it is found that fabric plays an important role in changing environment newly with more dynamic, abundant, and comfortable and softer feeling than any other artistic materials and enlarging the boundaries of artistic materials by exploring formative possibility. Furthermore, its multi-dimensional expression characteristic presents unbounded possibility. Fabric which has long formed close relationship with human life has taken its place as one genre now. It departs from the past principles of fabric handicraft and the restriction of a classical norm and becomes characteristic of very wide-ranging selection of materials and free expression. Its soft and warm texture provides emotional stability for a human. Although the peculiarity of fabric as an active concept to human environment and new materials and technique based on the aesthetic consciousness of a human rely on the high development of industry, it is significant that artists' liberation from their concept and material sense is accompanied by the expression of freedom.
