천연가스 유량 측정에서 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 이용한 임계유동함수 계산 (Evaluation of Critical Flow Function by Using Helmholtz Free Energy for Natural Gas Flow Measurement)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연가스 유량 측정에서 2차 표준으로 사용되는 소닉노즐 뱅크 -12개 노즐 패키지로 구성-의 임계유동함수 계산 시간을 1초 이하로 단축하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 AGA 8-dc 상태방정식을 적용한 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 유도하고 이로부터 적분 항이 없는 열역학 상태량 식을 도출하여 CFF 계산에 적용하였다. 그 결과 CFF 계산 시간이 기존 6.7초/12개에서 0.6초/12개로 크게 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고 이 계산 시간은 가스 성분 수와 거의 무관함도 알 수 있었다. 또한 본 계산 결과의 정확도를 확인하기 위해 기존 CFF 국제비교연구의 결과와 비교한 결과 차이가 없음도 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 자유수면 위를 고속으로 항주하는 트랜섬 선미를 채택한 선박에 의하여 발생되는 선박주위 및 트랜섬 선미 끝단에서의 비선형 자유수면 경계조건식을 만족하는 자유 수면에서의 파형을 해석하는 수치해석 기법에 대하여 연구, 선체주위 유동해석프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 수치해석 프로그램의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 고속선인 Athena선형, KCS(KRISO container ship)선형에 대하여 수치해석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과를 모형시험에 의하여 계측된 실험결과와 서로 비교하였다.

실험적 용량산정 방법 비교 연구 (Comparing Empirical Methods of Highway Capacity Estimation)

  • PURPOSES : Capacity is a main factor of determining the number of lane in highway design or the level of service in road on operation. Previous studies showed that breakdown may occur before capacity is reached, and then it was concluded that capacity is a stochastic value rather than a deterministic one. In general, estimating capacity is based on average over maximum traffic volume observed for capacity state. This method includes the empirical distribution method(EDM) and would underestimate capacity. This study estimated existing empirical methods of estimating stochastic highway capacity. Among the studied methods are the product limit method(PLM) and the selected method(SM). METHODS : Speed and volume data were collected at three freeway bottleneck sites in Cheonan-Nonsan and West Sea Freeway. The data were grouped into a free-flow state or capacity state with speeds observed in the bottlenecks and the upstream. The data were applied to the empirical methods. RESULTS : The results show that the PLM and SM estimated capacity higher than EDM. The reason is that while the EDM is based on capacity observations only, the PLM and SM are based on free-flow high volumes and capacity observations. CONCLUSIONS : The PLM and SM using both free-flow and capacity observations would be improved to enhance the reliability of the capacity estimation.

천연가스의 임계유동함수 불확도 평가 (Estimation of Uncertainty in Critical Flow Function for Natural Gas)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연가스 유량 측정에 사용되는 임계유동함수(CFF)를 AGA8-dc 상태방정식으로 계산할 때 CFF 계산값의 불확도를 평가하였다. CFF 계산에 사용되는 엔탈피, 엔트로피, 음속 식은 불확도 분석이 가능하도록 무차원 헬름홀츠 자유에너지(Helmholtz free energy, HFE)와 이의 편도함수로 표현하였고, HFE의 불확도를 추정하였다. 압축인자의 불확도에 의해 유발되는 종속 변수의 불확도를 반영하기 위해 AGA8-dc 압축인자 식을 해당 불확도만큼 편차가 생기는 형태로 변형하였고, 각 불확도 요인별로 불확도 기여도 평가 모델을 만들었으며, 이를 CFF 계산 프로그램에 적용하였다. 그 결과 CFF의 불확도는 압력 10, 50, 100 bar 에서 각각 0.025, 0.055, 0.112 % 정도로 평가 되었고 압력에 비례하여 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 본 결과를 기존 CFF 국제비교시험결과(1999년)에 적용한 결과 각 기관별 CFF 값의 차이를 적절히 설명하는 것도 알 수 있었다.

회전하는 원형실린더를 지나는 균일전단 유동에 관한 수치연구 (Numerical Study on Uniform-Shear new over a Rotating Circular Cylinder)

  • The present study has numerically investigated two-dimensional laminar flow over a steadily rotating circular cylinder with a uniform planar shear, where the free-stream velocity varies linearly across the cylinder. It aims to find the combined effect of rotation and shear on the flow. Numerical simulations using the immersed boundary method are performed for the ranges of $-2.5{\le}\alpha{\le}2.5$ and $0{\le}K{\le}0.2$ at a fixed Reynolds number of Re=100, where a and K are respectively the dimensionless rotational speed and velocity gradient. Results show that the positive shear, with the upper side having the higher free-stream velocity than the lower one, favors the effect of the counter-clockwise rotation $(\alpha<0)$ but countervails that of the clockwise rotation $(\alpha>0)$. Accordingly, the absolute critical rotational speed, below which vortex shedding occurs, decreases with increasing K for $(\alpha>0)$, but increases for $\alpha>0$. The vortex shedding frequency increases with increasing \alpha (including the negative) and the variation becomes steeper with increasing K. The mean lift slightly decreases with increasing K regardless of the rotational direction. However, the mean drag and the amplitudes of the lift- and drag-fluctuations strongly depend on the direction. They all decrease with increasing K for $\alpha>0$, but increase for $\alpha<0$. Flow statistics as well as instantaneous flow folds are presented to identify the characteristics of the flow and then to understand the underlying mechanism.

Sn-Zn합금의 주조조건과 응고특성 (Casting Conditions and Solidification Characteristics of Sn-Zn Alloys)

  • An investigation has been conducted to describe solidification characteristics in Sn-Zn binary system and Sn-Zn-Ag ternary system added by Ag produced by the continuous casting process using heated mold as a basic study for developing Pb-free solder materials. To obtain the continuous casting rods with mirror surface and near net shape at higher casting speed, water flow rates must be increased and mold temperature must be lowered. However, surface tearing in the casting rods occured at lower continuous casting speed while break out occured at higher continuous casting speed even if optimum conditions such as water flow rate and heated mold temperature are determined. Primary ${\alpha}Sn$ and eutectic structure in unidirectioally solidified Sn-Zn alloys were finer with increased casting speed. But, directionality may not be expected for primary Zn in hypereutectic Sn-Zn alloy. It was found that the addition of $0.2{\sim}0.8%$ Ag promoted the growth of primary ${\alpha}Sn$ dendrites. The changes of tensile strength and elongation in Sn-Zn binary alloys were not observed while the increase of tensile strength and the decrease of elongation in Sn-Zn-Ag ternary alloys were observed with increased casting speed.

Prediction of Speed in Urban Freeway Having More Freight Vehicles - Based in I-696 in Michigan -

  • Generally an urban freeway means a primary arterial which provides road users with a free-flow speed, except for ramp junctions during rush hours. However, most road users suffer from traffic congestion in the basic segments as well as in the ramp junctions of urban freeway during rush hours, because most road users prefer urban freeways to local roads in the urban areas. This study then intends to analyze lane traffic characteristics of urban freeway basic segments having more freight vehicles during rush hours, find the lane showing a high correlation with the segment speed between lane speeds, and finally suggest a segment-speed predictive model by the lane speed of urban freeway basic segments during rush hours.

고속으로 입수하는 물체에 대한 충격량 및 입수 거동 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Impact Forces and Entry Behaviors of the High Speed Water Entry Bodies)

  • The numerical methodology for computing tile impact forces and water entry behaviors of high speed water entry bodies was been developed. Since the present method assumed the impact occurs within a very short time interval. the viscous effects do not have enough time to play a significant role in the impact forces, that is, the flow around a water-entry object was assumed as an incompressible potential flow and is solved by the source panel method. The elements fully submerged into the water are routinely treated, but the elements intersected by the effective planar free surface are redefined and reorganized to be amenable to the source panel method. To validate the present code, it was applied to disk, cone and ogive model and compared with experimental data. Good agreement was obtained. The water entry behavior such as the bouncing phenomena from the free surface was also simulated using the impact forces and two degree of freedom dynamic equation. Physically acceptable results were obtained.

고영각의 델타익에서 발생하는 와유동에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Computational Study of the Vortical Flows over a Delta Wing At High-Angle of Attack)

  • This paper dispicts the vortical flow characteristics over a delta wing using a computational analysis for the purpose of investigating and visualizing the effect of the angle of attack and fee stream velocity on the low-speed delta wing aerodynamics. Computations are applied to the full, 3-dimensional, compressible, Navier-Stokes Equations. In computations, the free stream velocity is changed between 20m/s and 60m/s and the angle of attack of the delta wing is changed between $16^{\circ}\;and\;28^{\circ}$. For the correct prediction of the major features associated with the delta wing vortex flows, various turbulence models are tested. The standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model predict well the vertical flows over the delta wing. Computational results are compared with the previous experimental ones. It is found that the present CFD results predict the vortical flow characteristics over the delta wing, and with an increase in the free steam velocity, the leading edge vortex moves outboard and its streangth is increased.
