Motion Planning of Autonomous Racing Vehicles for Mimicking Human Driver Characteristics (운전자 주행 특성 모사를 위한 트랙 한계 자율 주행 차량의 거동 계획 알고리즘)

  • This paper presents a motion planning algorithm of autonomous racing vehicles for mimicking the characteristics of a human driver. Time optimal maneuver of a race car has been actively studied as a major research area over the past decades. Although the time optimization problem yields a single time series solution of minimum time maneuver inputs for the vehicle, human drivers achieve similar lap times while taking various racing lines and velocity profiles. In order to model the characteristics of a specific driver and reproduce the motion, a stochastic motion planning framework based on kernelized motion primitive is introduced. The proposed framework imitates the behavior of the generated reference motion, which is based on a small number of human demonstration laps along the racetrack using Gaussian mixture model and Gaussian mixture regression. The mean and covariance of the racing line and velocity profile mimicking the driver are obtained by accumulating the outputs tested at equidistantly sampled input points. The results confirmed that the obtained lateral and longitudinal motion simulates the driver's driving characteristics, which are feasible for actual vehicle test environments.

  • Construction delays occur frequently in outrigger framework of tall buildings due to the unexpected conditions and lack of experience. However, delay factors of the outrigger framework has not been managed efficiently. Therefore, the systematic management is needed by perceiving possible delay factors before constructing management system. In this study, the major delay factors of outrigger framework are conducted to derive by using the Importance Performance Analysis(IPA). It is expected that the results of this study are utilized for planning of systematic scheduling in outrigger framework of tall building.

  • Production planning is one of the most important activities in shipbuilding enterprises. Shop-floor supervisors and planners still do not have enough information to effectively analyze shop operations because of the difference between production planning and shop-floor scheduling. In this paper, process analysis was conducted between production planning and shop-floor control to clarify the difference, and the necessity of the manufacturing execution system(MES) was derived in a shipyard. Therefore, the simulation-based ship production execution system(SPEXS) was defined by analyzing characteristics of MES. The architectural functions of the system were deducted from the process of requirement analysis. The SPEXS' framework was constructed on the basis of the architectural functions. This framework will provide more reliable production schedules and allow engineers to plan and control shop operations in real-time.

A Study on the Spatial Planning for the Establishment of Design Guideline for the Acute Psychiatric Ward in General Hospitals (종합병원 정신건강의학과 급성기 병동 가이드라인 수립을 위한 공간구성에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: In Korea, the increase rate of the number of mentally ill patients increases, and the hospitalization period for severely mentally ill patients to stay in acute wards is long and the re-hospitalization rate is high. In order to improve the dignity of patients with acute mental illness and to plan a therapeutic environment for this, this study attempted to present a basic framework of spacial planning for establishing guidelines for psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals. Methods: By analyzing the acute psychiatric ward guidelines of the UK, Australia, and the US., this study analyzed the areas and required rooms of psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals, as well as the net floor area of each room, and the connection between the rooms. Results: As a result of the study, the basic framework for the ward areas and the required rooms, the net floor areas of the rooms, and the connection between the rooms were presented for the establishment of guidelines for the psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals. Implication: The results of the study will be used as a basic framework of space planning for establishing of guidelines for the psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals and will contribute to the establishment of detailed guidelines based on the space configuration through surveys and analysis of space use status, operation status, and expert interviews in Korea.

A Study on the Applicability of Concept Mapping in the Planning of Network Outcomes Measurement (네트워크 성과측정 기획을 위한 개념도 연구법(Concept Mapping) 적용가능성)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the applicability of concept mapping in the process of planning of network outcomes in social welfare. Planning and evaluation of network outcomes involve many stakeholders. Recognizing the value and range of individuals' perspectives in the creation of a common framework is one of the biggest methodological challenges for planning of network outcomes. Concept mapping is a kind of methodology that creates a stakeholder-authored visual geography of ideas from a group. It uses both a quantitative and qualitative approach, including brainstorming, structuring the statement, specific analysis and data interpretation methods to produce maps that can then be used to guide planning and evaluation efforts on the issues that matter to the group. 13 network managers who work in the social welfare centers in Busan are core participants. The 50 statements on network outcomes from brainstorming session fell into six distinct clusters. After the interpretation session these clusters were rated according to the seven rating scales. This paper explores applicability of concept mapping in the process of planning of network outcomes in social welfare. Concept mapping helps stakeholders with different value and ideas about network outcomes to consensus on common conceptual framework. In addition, a multidimensional conceptualization of network outcomes was made. It will assist in designing future outcomes evaluation and guide the evaluators through a selection of key activities and outcomes.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an alternative framework for the integration of process planning and scheduling in cellular manufacturing. The concept of an integrated cellular manufacturing system is defined and the system architecture is presented. In an integrated cellular manufacturing system, there are three modules : the process planning module, the manufacturing-cell design module, and the cell-scheduling module. For each module, the tasks and their activities are explained.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to define the concepts and measures of accessibility used in various disciplines. To do this, a significant literature review was conducted particularly in fields of traffic engineering, transportation planning, urban economics, urban planning, and geography of transportation. The result indicates that each discipline uses the concept of accessibility in a slightly different perceptual framework and thus shows somewhat ambiguous definition. The result also indicates that accessibility should serve as a tool to integrate transportation planning into the other connected disciplines.

  • Korean government has been preparing the introduction of Emission Trading as part of the framework convention on Climate Change as a relief of negative downstream effect over electricity industry. This paper develops a mathematical model amenable to analyzing the economic impact of introduced emission trading system on the national generation expansion planning. The developed model was also employed with a case study to verify its applicability.

  • Based on the critical review of previous new village planning proposals in Saemangeum Farming Zone, this study tried to derive rational and realistic planning/design criteria for new villages firstly through home-and-abroad case studies analysis, interview works on farmers in two villages located in the existing reclaimed farming areas and influential zone analysis from neighborhood villages in old land. By applying these criteria(population structure, farming size, maximum distance between farmland and home, village site size, number of new villages planned) on Saemangeum Farming Zone, basic new village planning framework was proposed finally.
