전동차 대차 프레임의 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue life evaluation of Electric Car Bogie Frame)

  • Bogie frame of the electric car is an important structural member for the support of vehicle loading. In general, more than 25 years' durability is necessary. A lot of study has been carried out for the prediction of the structural integrity of the bogie frame in experimental and theoretical domains. The objective of this paper is to estimate the structural integrity of the bogie frame of an electric car, which is under the running test. F.E. analysis of bogie frame was performed to find locations for attaching strain gage and to estimate static stress. Dynamic stress were measured by using strain gage in order to evaluate the structural integrity of the bogie frame.

  • The shape optimization procedure applying finite element method was carried out for the specific purpose of analysis of a tractor chassis frame. Minimization of the mass as an objective function is executed under multiple constrained conditions of nodal displacements and stresses. The optimization process executions were succeeded in converging into single optimum solution. Although mass reduction and stress alleviation were attained by 40% and 26 to 24% respectively , the geometry of the shape is so complicated for fabrication that the refinement of the geometry is of necessity.

  • In this paper, a damaged example of hanging guide frame used in the lifting of shore protection caisson was investigated. An examination of the stress and stability of members was carried out by structural analysis and the causes of damages was investigated. The stability analysis considering local and global stress buckling was performed. As a result of stability analysis. the first structure was unstable structure. Therefore improved structure was examined and the best effective methodology was the reassignment of wire.

내재해형 조립 비닐하우스 골조 구조시스템 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Stress Tolerant Structural Systems in the Frame of Built-up Greenhouses)

  • The collapsing accidents of greenhouse frames have been increased yearly due to strong wind and heavy snow, but as it was, there were few studies about the structural safety of greenhouses. Therefore, this study was carried out to develop the stress tolerant structural frame systems in built-up greenhouses. The vertical loading experiment of developed scale models were implemented and the developed types of models were simulated by 3-D analysis program in this study. These types of models, which are existing type and honeycomb type, in arch and standard style frames were classified. As a result of this study, it was verified that the honeycomb type model of arch style frame is better than the existing type model of it in stress resistance against snow load and wind load.

블랭킹 잔류응력에 의한 리드프레임 변형 수치해석을 위한 대격자 모델 (A Coarse Mesh Model for Numerical Analysis of Lead Frame Deformation Due to Blanking Residual Stress)

  • The deformation of sheet metal due to the residual stress during blanking or piercing process, is numerically simulated by means of a commercial finite element code. Two dimensional plain strain problem is solved and then its result is applied to the deformation analysis of the lead frame. The plain strain element is applied to the 2D problem to observe the Von Mises equivalent stress concentration at the both shearing edges. As the punch penetrates into the sheet material, the stress concentration generated on both edges is getting increased to be the shearing surface. The limits of the punching depth applied to the simulation is 16% and 24% of the sheet thickness for the plain strain element and the hexahedral element, respectively. The hexahedral element and the limit of punching depth were applied to the deformation analysis of the lead frame for the blanking process. The FEM results for the lead deformation were very good agreement with the experimental ones. This paper shows that the coarse mesh has enabled to analyze the lead deformation generated due to the blanking mechanism. This simple approach to save the calculation time will be very effective to the design of the blanking tools in industries.

스탬핑 리드프레임의 버와 잔류응력 제거를 위한 전해연마의 적용 (The Application of Electropolishing for Removing Burrs and Residual Stress of Stamping Leadframe)

  • 반도체 패키지에 사용되는 주요 재료인 리드프레임은 반도체 제품의 소형화, 박형화, 고집적 화에 대응하기 위해서 리드 및 피치의 미세화가 요구되며 제조 과정에서 발생되는 버(burr)의 제거와 잔류응력 제거에 대한 노력이 필요하다. 본 논문은 리드프레임의 제작 시 스탬핑 공정 중에 발생하는 버와 잔류응력을 제거하기 위해 전해연마를 적용하였다. 전해연마를 적용한 리드프레임은 표면의 버 등이 제거되었으며, 잔류음력은 실험에 사용된 전해액의 종류에 따라 차이가 있으나, 과염소산계의 경우에는 잔류응력을 23%제거하여 리드프레임의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있었다.

Numerical models for stress analysis of non-uniform corroded tubular members under compression

  • In re-assessing the Jacket-type fixed steel structures, the current standards often allow the simplicity of corrosion sections using local buckling or equivalent section approach to applying empirical formulae of frame stress and resistance analyses. However, those approaches can lead to significant errors for non-uniform corroded frames in a specific area, including force distribution, stress, and allowable strength of the tubular section, compared to the actual cases. This paper investigates a suitable approach to determine the actual stress on non-uniform corroded tubular frames under compression through the non-linear ABAQUS model by considering the effect of large deformation on the frame axis and the frame section. There are 3 scenarios of interest. In the 1st and 2nd scenarios with simple corrosion cases, the stress ratios using the numerical model and theoretical formulae correspond to the calculation of allowable strength reduction ratios in standards. However, scenario 3, which describes non-uniform corroded sections based on survey data, provides considerable differences in results. Therefore, it proves the reliable and effective results when using this method to analyze the resistance of the actual corroded section in the Jacket platforms.

  • In this paper, static analysis of eddy current brake′s frame, which is one of key structural components of brake system for high speed train, was performed in order to evaluate the design by computer simulation. Calculation was carried out in general for the driving modes "braking" and "frame in upper position(brakes inactive)".   • Contrary to reinforced concrete frames, the beams or girders found in actual steel frames are neither hinged nor fixed at their ends. Instead, they are usually restrained by the columns to which they are attached. Here in this paper, common finite element program for plane frame stress analysis is improved by including the effect of partial fixities of the girder ends. To include the effect of partial fixities of the girder ends, Kim's modified slope-deflection equation is adopted. The stress analysis results obtained by this proposed method are then compared with Kim's example. Finally, method of choosing the most economic girder section for a multi-story frame is suggested through the examples.

  • It is well known that the targeted fuel efficiency could only be achieved by more than 40% reduction of the vehicle weight through improved design and extensive utilization of lightweight materials. In order to obtain the goal of the weight reduction of automobiles, the researches about lighter and stronger rear sub-frame have been studied without sacrificing the safety of rear sub-frame. In this study, the weight reduction design process of rear sub-frame could be proposed based on the variation of von-Mises stress contour by substituting an AA6061 (aluminum 6061 alloy) having tensile strength of 310 MPa grade instead of SAPH440 steels. In addition, the stress ratio variations (stress over fatigue limit) of the rear sub-frame were examined and compared carefully. It could be reached that this approach method could be well established and be contributed for light-weight design guide and the optimum design conditions of the automotive rear sub-frame development.
