  • We would like to understand we should follow the rules of nature by having 'bupaeumyang(法於陰陽) to the "sanggocheonjinron "上古天眞論" and the healthy living shall be made based on the balance of yin and yang, and in harmony with the nature mentioned in Sagijoshindaeron "四氣調神大論" so it is considered that this is the Yangsaeng(養生) usually mentioned in Oriental medicine. Therefore, we would like to present the exercise methods according to the season and would like to propose two most basic Yangsaeng methods of the gymnastics Yangsaeng method(體操養生方法) and the massage Yangsaeng method(按摩養生方法) stimulating Musculoskeletal(筋骨格) and acupoints (血位) directly by the caregivers among the various infants exercise in order to help their physical growth and development and to promote the interaction between parents and children.

  • The specimens for electron microscopic observation made in different seasons have different qualities even though they are made by the same procedure. We observed the various specimens made in each four season. As the results, we concluded that the different specimen conditions were caused by the humidity and penetrability of various solution into the block. In spring, fall and winter, the quality of specimen is good and the difference with one another is not found. But in summer, the specimen have worse quality than in other seasons and not good for sectioning process and observation. In summer with high humidity, we can gain better specimens by eliminating the humidity as much as possible in all processes, thus increasing penetration of various solutions into the specimen.

  • Characterization of sediment in the riverbed is of importance for effective water quality management, yet have not been monitored sufficiently. This paper reports monitoring results of nutrient concentrations of sediments. Surface waters and sediments were sampled four times during rainy season at five monitoring points. Organics of overlying water were increased after high flow condition followed by decreasing tendencies. Soluble phosphorus fraction among total phosphorus was increased after high flow condition while total phosphorus was in decreasing tendencies. Monitoring result suggested that more extended monitoring scheme for flow rate, scouring velocity, and suspended material is required for analyzing relationship between water quality and sediment.

  • Characterization of sediment quality is important for the proper management of surface water quality, yet sediment has not been monitored sufficiently. In this study, fecal indicator microorganism concentrations of sediments in the Geum River Basin were monitored. Sampling was carried out at one paddy field, one lakeshore and five monitoring stations in the lower reach of the Geum River Basin. Surface waters and sediments were sampled four times during rainy season. Total coliform concentrations of sediments were 12 times higher in average to those of surface waters while E. coli concentrations of sediments were six times higher. No correlation found between indicator microorganism concentration between surface waters and sediments.

  • The present study has been conducted to study the performance of dedicated outdoor air handling unit in central and personal air-conditioning. With conventional central and personal air-conditioning systems which are designed according to the maximum load, humidity increase above comfort level can not be avoided as the cooling load decreases. The adoption of dedicated outdoor air handling unit, however, can solve this problem. Moreover, the dedicated outdoor air handling unit has the characteristics of anti-bacteria due to dry coil, energy saving and good indoor air quality. During cooling seasons, dedicated outdoor air handling unit can save energy up to 30% than the conventional cooling+reheating system for controlling both temperature and humidity.

  • This survey was carried out in four areas in southern Korea from May 1983 through April 1986. A total of 1, 717 house rats was caught by trapping technique throughout the 4 areas. The total of 1, 535 trombiculid mites (4 genera, 7 species) was found only among Rattus norvegicus. Six species were observed in Seoul and Yangsuri areas, and 5 species in Seongnam area. No trombiculid mites were found in the rats caught in Inchon area. The highest infection rate of trombiculid mites (25%) was recorded in the rats caught in Seongnam area. And Leptotrombidium palpale was abundant species in general (detection rate; 72.8%) In seasonal variation, the hightes number of trombiculid population was observed from October through December in all the areas surveyed, and especially Euschongastia koreaensis apperaed more in autumn and winter than in any other season. The values of specie diversity and evenness of trombiculid mites found in Yangsuri were comparatively higher than those from the other areas.

  • This study aimed at defining radish cultivars to a best cooking usage based on their physiochemical and textural characteristics of Nabakkimchi. Baekkwang, Daeburyong, Chungwoon and Taebaek were used as four types of radish cultivars. Nabakkimchi was stored at $8^{\circ}C$ either after fermentation for 12 hours at $25^{\circ}C$(A group) or without preliminary fermentation(B group). As storage period went by, lightness was decreased. Haziness of liquid showed sudden increase at preliminary fermentation in group A, while it increased between the third day and fifth day in group B. Hardness of 'Fall season' type was relatively high after storage. pH was suddenly decreased on the second day in A group and on the fifth day in B group. Acidity was suddenly increased on the second day in A group and since the third day at B group. As a result of sensory evaluation, Chungwoon stored for 2 days after preliminary fermentation was the best variety.

  • Most high-rise building and large building require a cooling tower. Closed cooling tower is a low noise and the high efficiency. also Closed cooling tower is available for four season. Performance of Closed cooling tower is judged by heat transfer coefficient. In this study, Heat transfer coefficient is compared with air velocity, spray flow, heat exchanger type.

  • Information about processing method of Kwahaju can get from the 41 kinds classical literature traditional yakju. The contents of those classical literature consist of sixty items about Kwahaju, number of art-less-brewed alcoholics and compounded alcoholics. Interpreted content was classified and analyzed. Selected 40 items, about Kwahaju among previous 60 items, compounded brewages, were distributed into two groups of alcoholics ; Seoul Kwahaju and Kimchun Kwahaju. Both group of alcoholics, grunded on the periodical conversion of processing method through four centuries were set one thing to another and analyzed. The materials used for Kwahaju, compounded alcoholics, were waxy rice mainley, regular rice, yeast(Nuruk), wheat, barley seedings and Soju, Kwahaju, usually, is brewed for worm or hot season and store up the alcoholics for summer. It should be reminded to be durable alcoholics, not soon pureficated out or needing repair.

  • This experiment was attempted to investigate the effects of growing stage, cutting frequency and the level of nitrogen fertilization on the change of carbohydrate reserves in reed canarygrass(Pha1aris arundinacea L.). The results obtained were as follows: The amount of carbohydrate reserves appeared to markedly decrease up to critical level after the cutting in hot and dry weather season. During the growing stage, the amount of carbohydrate reserves decreased just after the cutting and also during the period of flourishing elongation of reed canarygrass. However, it began to increase sharply from the end of September for wintering. Two cutting system showed the highest mean value(19.53 %) of carbohydrate reserves and those of three, five and four cutting system was 15.32 %. 14.73 %, and 14.60 % respectively. Reed canarygrass with no nitrogen fertilization resulted in 17.17% of carbohydrate reserve, however there was no singificant difference among various levels of nitrogen fertilization. In respect of regrowth. 3 cutting system showed the most effective cutting frequency, however 4 or 5 cutting system had a decreasing tendency of regrowth.
