  • A new method for deriving analytical solution of the annular elastic plate on elastic foundation under axisymmetric loading is presented. The formulation is based on application of Hankel integral transforms and Bessel functions' properties in the corresponding boundary-value problem. A representative example is studied and the obtained solution is compared with published numerical results indicating excellent agreement.

  • In this paper, the RC column-based joint connection part carry out loading test by reinforced hollow or extended Base Plate in order to confirm that RC joint punching shear reinforcement effect of applying the Base Plate. Base Plate thickness, extension length, size, and type as the variable, Base Plate suitable for the stress distribution and shape and dimensions confirmed through experiment and then reinforcing effect was analyzed. Experimentally, vertical load transmitted to the Base Plate from column to foundation is effective to stress distribution and then, type of hollow reinforcement more efficient than a closed. Through experiment, improve performance and ductility due to reinforcement and relative to the thickness of the existing foundation reduced even showed better performance than the existing. The behavior of the reinforced specimens be able to induce from brittle to ductile. Experiment on loading to destroy performed the pattern of cracks, destruction aspect before and after reinforcement.

  • A thermal postbuckling analysis is presented for a moderately thick rectangular plate subjected to uniform or nonuniform tent-like temperature loading and resting on an elastic foundation. The plate is assumed to be simply supported on its two opposite edges and the two side edges remain free. The initial geometrical imperfection of the plate is taken into account. The formulation are based on the Reissner-Mindlin plate theory considering the first order shear deformation effect, and including plate-foundation interaction and thermal effects. The analysis uses a mixed Galerkin-perturbation technique to determine the thermal buckling loads and postbuckling equilibrium paths. Numerical examples are presented that relate to the performances of perfect and imperfect, moderately thick plates resting on Pasternak-type or softening nonlinear elastic foundations from which results for Winker elastic foundations follow as a limiting case. Typical results are presented in dimensionless graphical form.

  • P.C Bearing Plate method, corresponding to the existing steel plate build-up method, is developed by the very first in domestic and is applied to the foundation in the HYUNDAI building at Kang-Nam. P. C Bearing Plate produced in ourself P.C plant can stand against vertical load of 7,000ton obtaining allowable force of soil. It is possible to minmize cost expediting, do site assembling and omit unnecessary excavation work by plant prefabrication of foundation member. The purpose of this paper is to study the optimum mixing design of Ultra-high strength concrete ($\acute{f}_{C91}$= 950kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$), crack control through measuring the heat of hydration, mock up test for the optimum curing method. As mentioned above, developing the Ultra-high strength Precast Concrete Bearing Plate set up successfully in the site foundation work of the HYUNDAI Building at Kang-Nam.

  • The variable node plate bending element, ie, the element with one or two additional mid-side nodes is used in the analysis of mat foundation to generate the nearly ideal grid model in which more nodes are defined near the column location. The plate bending element used in this study is the one based on Mindlin/Reissner plate theory with substitute shear strain field and the nodal stresses of that element are obtained by the local smoothing technique. The interaction of the soil material with the mat foundation is modeled with Winkler springs connected to the nodal points in the mat model. The vertical stiffness of the soil material are represented in terms of a modulus of subgrade reaction and are computed in the same way as to the computation of consistent nodal force of uniform surface loading. Several mesh schemes were proposed and tested to find the most suitable scheme for mat foundation analysis.

  • This research analyzes the dynamic stability of stiffened plates on elastic foundations using the finite element method. For analyzing the stiffened plates, both the Mindlin plate theory and Timoshenko beam-column theory were applied. In application of the finite element method, 8-nodes serendipity element system and 3-nodes finite element system were used for plate and beam elements, respectively Elastic foundations were modeled as the Pasternak foundations in which the continuity effect of foundation is considered. In order to verify the theory of this study, solutions obtained by this analysis were compared with the classical solutions in open literature and experimental solutions. The dynamic stability legions of stiffened plates on Pasternak foundations were determined according to changes of in-plane stresses, foundation parameters and dimensions of stiffener.
