The system of systems (SoS) based analysis method for the C3 system consisting of the communication system and the command and control (C2) system has the advantage that detailed analysis is possible, but it requires long execution time per one trial, which makes the analysis of various scenarios difficult. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a method for analysis of C3 SoS using a transformation of a federation into an integrated simulation. This transformation technique reduces the execution time while maintaining accuracy by abstracting the system other than the one to be analyzed, consisting of model hypothesis and function identification. The former can construct an abstracted model for the simulation through the proposed extended Discrete Event Systems Specification (DEVS) formalism and the latter can express the characteristics of the model influenced by other systems. From the case study on C and C2 analysis, the experimental results show that this method shortened the time considerably while maintaining the accuracy within an acceptable error range and we expect that this method will enable the exploratory analysis of the complex systems other than C3.
As recent business environments are changed and become complex, a more efficient and effective business process management are needed. This paper proposes a new approach to the automatic execution of business processes using Event-Condition-Action (ECA) rules that can be automatically triggered by an active database. First of all, we propose the concept of blocks that can classify process flows into several patterns. A block is a minimal unit that can specify the behaviors represented in a process model. An algorithm is developed to detect blocks from a process definition network and transform it into a hierarchical tree model. The behaviors in each block type are modeled using ACTA formalism. This provides a theoretical basis from which ECA rules are identified. The proposed ECA rule-based approach shows that it is possible to execute the workflow using the active capability of database without users' intervention.
This paper describes a methodology for the development of models of discrete event system(DES). The methodology is based on transformation of continuous state space into discrete one to homomorphically represent dynamics of continuous processes in discrete events. This paper proposes a formal structure which can couple DES models within a framework. The structure employs the DEVS formalism for the DES models. The proposed formal structure has been applied to develop a DEVS model for the human cardiovascular system. For this, the cardiac cycle is partitioned into a set of phases based on events identified through VisSim simulation in the CS of the electrical analog model. VisSim is the simulation tool of visual environment for developing continuous, discrete, and hybrid system models and performing dynamic simulation. For each phase, a CS of the electrical analog model for the cardiovascular system has been simulated by VisSim 2.0. To validate this model, first develop the DEVS model, then simulate the model in the DEVSIM++ environment. It has same simulation results for the data obtained from the CS simulation using VisSim. The comparison shows that the DEVS model represents dynamics of the human heart system at each phase of cardiac cycle.

Based on two dimensional model partition method proposed in Part 1, Part 2 provides detailed model specification and implementation. To mathematically delineate a model's behaviors and interactions among them, we extend the DEVS (Discrete Event Systems Specification) formalism and newly propose CE-DEVS (Combat Entity-DEVS) for an upper abstraction sub-model of a combat entity model. The proposed CE-DEVS additionally define two sets and one function to reflect essential semantics for the model's behaviors explicitly. These definitions enable us to understand and represent the model's behaviors easily since they eliminate differences of meaning between real-world expressions and model specifications. For model implementation, upper abstraction sub-models are implemented with DEVSim++, while the lower sub-models are realized using the C++ language. With the use of overall modeling techniques proposed in Part 1 and 2, we can conduct constructive simulation and assess factors about combat logics as well as battle field functions of the next-generation combat entity, minimizing additional modeling efforts. From the anti-torpedo warfare experiment, we can gain interesting experimental results regarding engagement situations employing developing weapons and their tactics. Finally, we expect that this work will serve an immediate application for various engagement warfare.

Avionics System Integration Laboratory is an integrated test environment for the integration and the verification of avionics systems. Recently, in order to fully consider the requirements verification of avionics system from the aspect of the entire system integration, the participation in the development of the SIL field is advanced from the requirement analysis of the aircraft. Efforts are being made to minimize the cost and the period of development of a SIL so that it does not affect the overall schedule of the aircraft development. We propose the avionics simulation model framework (ASMF) based on the modeling formalism applicable to SIL in order to reduce development period/cost and increase maintenance by standardizing the modeling methods of SIL.
Tan Yuanjie(譚元杰) of CHINA COSTUME ART OF PEKING OPERA("中國京劇服裝圖譜") is 'Foreword' attention from the bar 'Formalism'. A note is makeup system from ever performances here, 'what kind of adaptation must be a corresponding type of costume should be worn.' This stance to 'type of person's identity and faced the scene correlated' with the actual performance tradition plays out is going and, while here the rules to capture the opera's on the character of 'identity and the circumstances under clothing' is defined. This position discussed previously 'Formalism' in line with the will he perform, and looks to meet the elements of production. This basic stance is clean up, while 'Old Beijing Opera costumes costumes taxonomy largely' literary costume' and 'militant outfit' into two groups divided over throughout steamroll surgery, because surely need to have a more systematic classification. This paper presents the network security modeling methodology and simulation using the hierarchical and modular modeling and simulation framework. Recently, Howard and Amoroso developed the cause-effect model of the cyber attack, defense, and consequences, Cohen has been proposed the simplified network security simulation methodology using the cause-effect model, however, it is not clear that it can support more complex network security model and also the model-based cyber attack simulation. To deal with this problem, we have adopted the hierarchical and modular modeling and simulation environment so called the System Entity Structure/Model Base (SES/MB) framework which integrates the dynamic-based formalism of simulation with the symbolic formalism of AI. Several simulation tests performed on sample network system verify the soundness of our method.

Spam call is one of the main security threat in VoIP services. In this paper, we have designed simulation model for performance evaluation of VoIP spam defense mechanism. The simulation model has functions for performance evaluation such as calls generation and input/output comparison. Four representative caller models have been developed for performance evaluation and each model has its own characteristics as statistical parameters. The target mechanism of performance evaluation is SPIT(Spam over Internet Telephony) level decision algorithm, and we have derived SPIT levels of caller models. The performance evaluation model is designed using the DEVS formalism and DEVSJAVA$^{TM}$ is exploited for development and execution of simulation models.
A formal theory to explain the Stark effect in molecular exciton states is developed using the second-quantization formalism. In this theory not only the Stark effect but also the Davydov effect are explicitly taken into consideration since the observed spectral splitting in the UV spectra for molecular crystals with two or more molecules per unit cell may be the result of combination of the above two effects. Especially for molecular crystals containing two molecules in a unit cell the splitting is shown to be hyperbolically dependent upon the strength of an externally applied, uniform electric field, from which informations regarding the excited state dipole moments of a single molecule may be obtained.

In order to overcome the key shortcoming of Hamilton's principle, recently, the extended framework of Hamilton's principle was developed. To investigate its potential in further applications especially for material non-linearity problems, the focus is initially on a classical single-degree-of-freedom elasto-viscoplastic model. More specifically, the extended framework is applied to the single-degree-of-freedom elasto-viscoplastic model, and a corresponding weak form is numerically implemented through a temporal finite element approach. The method provides a non-iterative algorithm along with unconditional stability with respect to the time step, while yielding whole information to investigate the further dynamics of the considered system.
