폐탄광 산림복구지 관리방안 도출을 위한 산림복구 후 시간경과에 따른 임분탄소저장량 평가 (Assessment of Carbon Storage Capacity of Stands in Abandoned Coal Mine Forest Rehabilitation Areas over time for its Development of Management Strategy)

  • The objective of this study was to develop a management strategy for the recovery of carbon storage capacity of abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation area. For the purpose, the biomass and stand carbon storage over time after the forest rehabilitation by tree type for Betula platyphylla, Pinus densiflora, and Alnus hirsuta trees which are major tree species widely planted for the forest rehabilitation in the abandoned coal mine were calculated, and compared them with general forest. The carbon storage in abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation areas was lower than that in general forests, and based on tree species, Pinus densiflora stored 48.9%, Alnus hirsuta 41.1%, and Betula platyphylla 27.0%. This low carbon storage is thought to be caused by poor growth because soil chemical properties, such as low TOC and total nitrogen content, in the soil of abandoned coal mine forest rehabilitation areas, were adverse to vegetation growth compared to those in general forests. DBH, stand biomass, and stand carbon storage tended to increase after forest rehabilitation over time, whereas stand density decreased. Stand' biomass and carbon storage increased as DBH and stand density increased, but there was a negative correlation between stand density and DBH. Therefore, after forest rehabilitation, growth status should be monitored, an appropriate growth space for trees should be maintained by thinning and pruning, and the soil chemical properties such as fertilization must be managed. It is expected that the carbon storage capacity the forest rehabilitation area could be restored to a level similar to that of general forests.

  • 본 연구에서는 춘천집재기를 이용한 집재작업에서의 집재작업생산성 및 비용을 분석하기 위해 낙엽송 간벌작업지 4개소에서 상향집재와 하향집재 작업으로 구분하여 조사를 실시하였다. 집재작업의 작업생산성을 예측하기 위한 평균 집재작업시간 추정식을 도출하였으며, 이를 이용하여 생산비용에 관여되는 인자들과 함께 집재작업 비용을 분석하였다. 춘천집재기를 이용한 집재작업 비용은 상향집재에서 12,844원/$m^3$, 하향집재에서는 13,221원/$m^3$으로 나타났다. 평균집재 작업시간은 상향집재시 239초, 하향집재시 274초로 나타났다. 상향집재시에는 가로집재가 가장 많은 부분(37%)을 차지한 반면, 하향집재에서는 집재시간이 평균집재시간에서 가장 높은 비율(46%)을 차지하였다. 이는 하향집재시 집재목 걸림현상이 상향집재보다 많이 발생하기 때문이다. 조사지에서의 작업 생산성은 하향집재 작업이 상향집재 작업보다 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 집재방향을 제외한 동일한 작업조건에서 비교하였을 경우 상향집재 작업이 하향집재 작업에 비해 생산성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 물갬나무의 집약재배(集約栽培)에 의(依)한 삼림(森林) Biomass와 간재생산(幹材生産) 효율(效率)과의 관계(關係)를 구명(究明)하여 삼림(森林) 생산성(生産性) 향상(向上)을 도모(圖謀)코자 1975년(年) 경기도(京機道) 양평군(陽平郡) 청운면(靑雲面) 다대리(多大里)에 밀도별(密度別) (ha당(當) 3000, 6000, 9000 및 12000 본(本))로 시험(試驗) 조림(造林)을 실시(實施)하여 집약(集約) 관리(管理)한 결과(結果) 식재밀도(植栽密度) ha당(當) 6000 본(本) 이상(以上) 고밀도구(高密度區)의 적정(適正) 수확기(收穫期)(또는 간대시기(間代時期)는 식재(植栽) 5년후(年後)로 추정(推定)되며 지상부(地上部) biomass 량(量) 또는 단목당(單木當) biomass 량(量)의 추정식(推定式)은 $logY=b_0+b_1logd^2h$가 가장 적합(適合)하였다.

가압.가열 처리한 층층나무 적층재를 활용한 테이블 디자인 연구 (A Study on the Table Design for Utilization of Cornus controversa Laminated Wood Manufactured by Pressing and Heating)

  • In this study domestic thinning and small diameter woods of Giant dogwood (Cornus controversa Hemsl) was used. To increase the utilizability of wood, the utilizability was proposed after manufacturing laminated wood by pressing and heating. The physical and mechanical characteristics of Laminated wood were investigated and the color change was measured, using a Chromaticity coordinates, after being pressed at 10% (45 mm), 20% (40 mm), 30% (35 mm) for 5 minutes, using Stopper, and then heated at $180^{\circ}C$ for 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours. The results were as follows. Wood density, compressive strength, MOR, MOE are increased with increasing pressing rate but decreased as heating time is increased after pressing. However, Color change is clear, dimensional stability is improved after pressing and heating.

국산 소경재의 휨 성질을 이용한 충격에너지와 최대하중까지 일-에너지 예측연구 (Study on the Prediction of the Work-Energy to the Maximum Load and Impact Bending Energy from the Bending Properties)

  • This research investigates the bending properties to predict the work-energy to maximum load and impact bending energy from static bending and impact bending test. Specimens were prepared from lumber made of thinning crop-trees. Matched specimens were used for MC 12% and green moisture specimens to measure the effect of moisture content on the absorbed energy from static and impact bending tests. The bending properties such as MOE, MOR, etc. is a good predictor to investigate the work-energy and work-energy per unit volume from static bending and impact bending test. The impact bending energy is increased with increasing moisture content. However, the work to maximum load from static bending test is increasing with increasing the MC only for higher density species.

산림경영활동에 따른 수종별 지상부생물량 및 목재생산량 변화 모델링: 가리왕산 모델숲을 대상으로 (Modeling the Effects of Forest Management Scenarios on Aboveground Biomass and Wood Production: A Study in Mt. Gariwang, South Korea)

  • 우리나라의 산림은 조림과 산림보호정책의 결과로 임목축적이 크게 증가하였으며, 이에 따라 공익적 가치도 매우 높게 평가받게 되었다. 최근 벌기령이 도래함에 따라 간벌과 수확벌채 등의 시업을 비롯한 산림경영활동의 필요성이 대두되고 있으며, 이에 따라 산림경영활동의 장기적인 영향을 과학적으로 비교분석하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 이 연구는 가리왕산 모델숲을 대상으로 실시되었으며, 산림경관모형 LANDIS-II를 활용하여 주요 16개 수종에 대한 식생자료와 환경 특성 모수, 4가지 산림경영활동을 반영하여 수행한 모의를 통해 추정한 수종별 지상부생물량 변화를 바탕으로 산림경영활동이 식생의 천이와 목재생산량에 미칠 수 있는 영향을 평가하였다. 모형에 적용된 산림경영활동은 벌채강도와 벌채주기, 벌채기간에 따라 택벌림(Selection), 산벌림(Shelterwood), 이단림(Two-stories)과 비시업(no-mgt)으로 구성되어있으며, 이를 시나리오로 모형에 적용하여 산림경영활동에 따른 200년간의 지상부생물량의 변화를 통해 산림경관 변화를 모의하였다. 모의 결과 가리왕산 모델숲의 총 지상부생물량은 간벌과 수확벌채 시업 직후 크게 감소하였으나, 시나리오에 따라 수확벌채 시업 후 15년에서 50년이 지나며 시업 전 수준으로 회복되었고 200년 후에는 산림경영활동이 전혀 없는 시나리오보다 더 많은 지상부생물량을 지닐 것으로 평가되었다. 특히 내음성이 양수와 중성수로 분류된 수종의 지상부생물량은 수확벌채 시업 직후 크게 감소하였지만 신규개체의 발아와 정착으로 지상부생물량이 일부 회복하는 경향을 보였으며, 음수인 수종은 초기 수확벌채 시업에서 임령이 낮아 시업 대상으로 선정되지 않고 지속적으로 생장하여 모의 100년 이후에는 주요 우점수종이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 각 시나리오의 최종 누적 목재생산량은 택벌림 산림경영활동 시나리오에서 545.6 ton/ha, 산벌림 산림경영활동 시나리오에서 141.6 ton/ha, 이단림 산림경영활동 시나리오에서 299.9 ton/ha일 것으로 추정되었다. 목재생산량의 수종구성은 벌채강도와 벌채기간에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 특히 택벌림과 이단림의 산림경영활동 시나리오에서 수확벌채 시업 초기 목재생산량은 양수와 중성수 비율이 큰 것으로 나타났으나 시간이 지남에 따라 음수의 비율이 증가하였다. 이에 따라 산림경영활동은 산림생태계의 수종별 지상부생물량과 수확벌채 시업에 의한 목재생산량에도 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 산림경관모형 LANDIS-II를 활용한 시공간적 분석의 가능성을 규명하였으며, 이를 통해 산림생태계 관리 목표에 부합하는 산림경영활동 선정에 대한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Leaf Thinning and Fruit Quality of 'Hongro'/M.9 Apple Trees by Foliar Application of Cu-EDTA and Fe-EDTA

  • Hand leaf thinning for improvement of fruit coloration and quality is one of the most labor-consuming works in Korean apple cultivation. The study was aimed at investigating whether foliar application of two chelate compounds (Cu-EDTA, Fe-EDTA) could defoliate effectively 'Hongro'/M.9 apple leaves and enhance fruit coloration and quality. At 30 days before harvest, foliar spray with two chelate compounds defoliated significantly the apple leaves. Chelate treatments did not affect the leaf chlorophyll content. High concentration of chelates decreased drastically photosynthetic rate of true leaves, and then it stayed in low levels, whereas low levels of chelates reduced sharply the photosynthetic rate but it was gradually restored over time. Cu-EDTA regardless of its concentration triggered higher defoliation compared to Fe-EDTA. Consequently, higher defoliation improved light interception of fruits and accumulated more anthocyanin. Particularly, Cu-EDTA could target mainly fruit cluster leaves which affect directly light interception of the fruits, i.e. more selective defoliants compared to Fe-EDTA. However, 3% Cu-EDTA rather defoliated excessively, accompanying with reduction of fruit weight and soluble solids. Therefore, our results suggest that 1% Cu-EDTA which defoliates properly the fruit cluster leaves could improve coloration and quality of 'Hongro'/M.9 apple fruits.

출토고목재의 수종과 조직구조에 관한 연구( II ) -출토고목재의 부후형태- (Species identification and microscopic structure of ancient wood excavated from the remains( II ) -Degradation of ancient woods-)

  • To understand the morphological change of ancient woods, samples classified by cell type, burial environment and species were collected and observed using microscopy. Decay of wood by cell type could classified into two types. First, degraded secondary wall was formed granular residues in $S_2$ layer and was remained $S_3$ layer and compound middle lamella. Second, the cell wall was slightly degraded and cracked in secondary wall. A gradual thinning of cell wall was occured. The compound middle lamella was separated from secondary wall. The resistance of degradation is increased at vessels, parenchyma, and tracheid and wood fiber in the order named. The type of degradation by species could be classified into four types. Overall degradation type; the degradation of cell wall is usually heavy and the extent of degradation Varies by part of the same sample. Partial degradation type ; this type shows severely different decay type by part of the sample. Nondegraded cells were mixed with degraded cells on the same sample. Erose degradation type ; thinning of the cell wall was occoured and the degradation type was different by part. Slight degradation types ; secondary wall was slightly degraded, cracked and separated from compound middle lamella. Considering different type of burial environment, dry wood was similiar to sound wood and slightly decayed. Waterlogged and peat burial wood was heavilydecayed. Between species of under the same environment, decay type and extent were diferentiated from each other.

잣나무 생지엽(生枝葉) 사일리지 급여가 거세한우의 반추위 발효성상 및 스트레스 관련 Hormone의 혈 중 농도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pine Silage Feeding on Ruminal Fermentation Characteristics, and Blood Concentrations of Stress-Related Hormones in HANWOO Steers)

  • This study was conducted to utilize the wastes produced from thinning the forest as a roughage source for ruminants. Four ruminally cannulated Korean steers were used to investigate the ruminal fermentation characteristics and blood concentrations of stress-related hormones. Treatments were composed of the rice straw only (Control) and the 30% pine silage plus 70% rice straw(Pine silage) as roughages. The experiment was conducted with four replicates by a double tum over design. For sampling of blood under high temperature steers were accommodated in respiratory chamber. Concentrations of ruminal pH, volatile fatty acids and ammonia were not affected by substitution of pine silage. Mean concentration of blood thyroxine was significantly(P < 0.01) lower in the pine silage than the control. However, blood cortisol concentration was not affected by substitution of pine silage, even though it was significantly(P < 0.05) decreased after exposure for 6 hrs in high temperature. It was concluded that the pine silage using the wastes produced from thinning the forest could be use as a substitute roughage for reduction of heat stress in ruminant.

잉크 유화가 인쇄 모틀에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Ink Emulsion on Printed Mottle)

  • Lithography like off-set printing is processed using the repellent properties between water and oil, so all inks for off-printing must work with dampening solution(water). The dampening water may cause the emulsification of ink by the printing pressure in the printing nip. This study aimed to investigate the effect of emulsified inks on print mottle. The cyan ink was emulsified artificially with the different IPA(isopropyl alcohol) content in this study. We evaluated the print mottle by densitometer and image analysis method. The print mottle phenomenon was directly affected by IPA content. The emulsification of inks also had an influence on flow properties of inks and it increased ink transfer rate. It, however, caused low ink density. Moreover the emulsified inks were spreaded to around dots and cause the thinning density on the non-printing area like print mottle. The trial printing showed that the emulsified inks also cause scumming on the printing result with little mistake of adjusting dampening solution and mostly decreasing dot reproduction. We could, therefore, find out the obvious effect of emulsified inks on print mottle.
