The purpose of this study was to measure the static foot pressure distribution of children between forefoot and rearfoot, and the percentage of static pressure were measured from 1256 normal children in a primary school by the TPScan(Triple Pod Scan) systemCommercial system). The measurement were performed while standing with their comfortable state using the TPScan system. The static pressure distribution between forefoot and rearfoot was analyzed by paired t-test. The results were as follows: 1. The Pes cavus and Pes planus of students was 4.936%. 2. The Pes cavus were 42 children(3.343%) and Pes planus was 20 children(1.592%). 3. The Pes planus were seen in 42 of 1256 children with Grade I in 11 feet (26.2%), Grade II in 24(57.1%), Grade III in 6(57.1%), Grade IV in zero. 4. Pes planus and Pes cavus were significantly difference in foot pressure between forefoot and rearfoot(P<0.05). The future study needs detailed research and comparison with various variance between theses before and after correction.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are any differences, with and without a toe spreader (TS), in dynamic foot pressure distribution in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Methods: Dynamic foot pressure recording using the RSscan system were obtained during walking in 12 participants (male=7, female=5) with and without TS. Mean force was measured for four different plantar regions; great toe, forefoot, midfoot, hindfoot. Displacement of center of pressure (COP), velocity of COP displacement and stance time were also measured during gait. Results: TS walking exhibited statistically significant decrease of mean force under great toe and forefoot (p<0.05), compared with a barefoot walking. Also, TS walking exhibited statistically significant increase of antero-posterior displacement of COP (p>0.05). Conclusion: These findings indicate the potential clinical utility of toe spreader to correct dynamic foot pressure during stance phase in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the test-retest of plantar pressures using the F-Scan system over speeds and plantar regions. 6 healthy female subjects in 20's were recruited for the study. Plantar pressure measurements during locomotor activities can provide information concerning foot function, particularly if the timing and magnitude of the loading profile can be related to the location of specific foot structures such as the metatarsal heads. The Tekscan F-Scan system consists of a flexible, 0.18mm thick sole-shape having 1260 pressure sensors, the sensor insole was trimmed to fit the subjects' right. left shoes - sneakers shoes & dress shoes. It was calibrated by the known weight of the test subject standing on one foot. The Tekscan measurements show the insole pressure distribution as a function of the time. This finding has important implications for the development of plantar pressure test protocols where the function of the forefoot is important. According to the result of analysis it is as follows 1) Center of force trajectory in women's dress shoes display direct movement, compare with center of force trajectory in Sneaker shoes displays a little bit curved slow pronation movement. Sneaker shoes in forefoot part display very quick supination movement, therefore, this shoes effects negative effectiveness for ankle's stability Considering center of force trajectory analyzing the more center of force close straight line, the more movement can be quick movement for locomotion. For foot pressure distribution, center of force trajectory in locomotion is better to curved trajectory with pronation movement. So sneaker shoes style is good shoes considering center of pressure distribution trajectory compare with women's dress shoes. 2) Women's dress shoes increased peak pressure in medial, this is effected by high hill's height. The more increased women's dress shoes's height, the more women's peak pressure will increase, pronation can increase compare with before. Supination movement increase, this focused pressure in lateral, also, supination increased more. If the supination movement increased, foot pressure focused in lateral, therefore, it is appeared force distribution in gait direction. This is bad movement in foot's stability. 3) Women's dress shoes in landing phase displayed a long time, this is when women's dress shoes wear, gait movement is unbalance, so, landing phase displayed a long time. For compensation in gait, swing phase quick movement. 4) Women's dress shoes displayed peak pressure distribution in lateral of rearfoot part, Sneakers shoes displayed peak pressure distribution in medial of forefoot part. Its results has good impact absorption compare with women's dress shoes. In forefoot part, sneakers shoes has good propulsive force compare with women's dress shoes.
This research is to know differentiation of CP(center of pressure) pattern among four pitching sort(straight ball, raise ball, change up ball, drop ball). Subject are three national or junior athletes. We use the one camera, Novel Win pressure measurement system. Conclusions are as follows : 1. When we throw the straight ball, CP of left foot is effective to end movement at middle of foot in body balance on arm angular motion and enhanced speed. 2. When we throw the raise ball, to change CP from middle to post is more effective in order to raise the ball. 3.In drop ball pitching, in order to fall down the ball in front of hitter, CP of left foot move from post foot to interior part of forefoot 4. In change up ball pitching, if CP of left foot move into forefoot, it is a cause of high ball and hitter can recognize the change up ball because of late arm rotation motion.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the foot pressure of subjects with hallux valgus following conservative management. Methods: The subjects (20 females) were divided into 2 groups; Hallux valgus group (10) and Control group (10) who could evaluate questionnaire & weight bearing X-ray. All the participants were evaluated distribution of foot pressure by Zebris FDM-S system with conservative management (taping therapy and hallux valgus device) during single-limb stance. Results: The Hallux valgus group (HVG) was significantly different than Control group (CG) in hallux valgus angle(p<0.05). The Hallux valgus group with Foot Device (HVG-FD), Hallux valgus group with Taping (HVG-Tp) and Hallux valgus group with Foot device and Taping (HVG-FD&Tp) was not significantly different than CG in hallux valgus angle (p<0.05). The HVG was not significantly different than CG in forefoot (p1, p2, p3), significantly different than CG in rearfoot (p7) about foot pressure during single-limb stance (p<0.05). The HVG-FO and HVG-FO and TP was significantly different than HVG in forefoot (p1, p2, p3), on significantly different than HVG in rearfoot (p7) about foot pressure during single-limb stance (p<0.05). There was significantly correlation HVG-FO and HVG-FO & TP in forefoot (p1, p2, p3) was negative correlation (p<0.05) and in rearfoot (p7) was positive correlation (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study showed that hallux valgus were effected hallux valgus angle and foot pressure by various treatment methods during single-limb stance. Further study is needed to measure various age and work with hallux valgus for clinical application.

Objective: Hallux valgus (HV) is a common musculoskeletal deformity that is accompanied with pain and continues to decrease one's quality of life and ability to perform daily life activities by affecting gait and static stability. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of the angle of HV (HVA) and to compare the one-legged stance and gait parameters in young adults with less HV and severe HV. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Forty young adults were divided into two groups, where HVA ≥15° (n=20) was defined as HV, and HVA <15° (n=20) was defined as normal. For balance ability, the center of pressure (COP) path, velocity, length of axis of the COP path, deviation of the x-axis and y-axis, and percentage of foot pressure were measured, and gait, the foot rotation angle, step length, percentage of each phase of the gait cycle, time change from the heel to forefoot, and maximum pressure of the forefoot and midfoot were measured. Results: Significant differences were found in sway length and time change from heel to forefoot during walking between the normal and HV groups (p<0.05). Most parameters were not associated with the HVA, but parameters such as length of axis and time to change from heel to forefoot were significantly associated with the HVA (p<0.05). Conclusions: These results suggest that most one-legged stance and gait parameters were not significantly affected by the HVA in young adults; therefore, future studies are needed in order to address other dynamic parameters and other methods of gait analysis for detecting clinically meaningful conditions.
Measurements of plantar pressure provide an indication of foot and ankle function during gait and other functional activities because the foot and ankle provide necessary support and flexibility for weight bearing and weight shifting while people are performing these activities. Plantar pressure is being increasingly used in both research and clinical practice to measure the effects of various footwear and physical therapy intervention. The influence of walking speed and ground inclination on plantar pressure parameters However has not been evaluated in detail. So, in this study to determine the effect of changes in walking speed and ground inclination on plantar pressure treadmills with different walking speeds and inclination were used. Plantar pressure parameters were measured with the Parotec system using the walking and running in 20 healthy participants(10 male, 10 female) aged $20{\sim}28$(mean 22.22, S.D.2.26 years) when slow walking and running. The result of this study with increased die walking speed, the peak pressure of 1st, 5th metatarsal head and total contact time and impulse total at the forefoot was affected by walking speed; however, die peak pressure, contact time and impulse total at the forefoot was not affected by ground inclination.
J.Y. CHOI,S. J. KIM, E. L. LEE. Change of plantar pressure Distribution of Open Stance during Forehand Strke in Tennis. Korean Journal of Sport Biomechanics, Vol. 15, No. 1, PP. 143-153, 2005. Recently among several tennis techniques forehand stroke has been greatly changed in the aspect of spin, grip and stance. The most fundamental factor among the three factors is the stance which consists of open, square and close stance and it is very important to know the patterns of plantar pressure distribution for the better understanding of forehand stroke. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the change of plantar pressure distribution in open stance during forehand stroke in tennis. Three high school tennis players were recruited for the study and required to perform forehand stroke five consecutive trials in the condition of open stance. The forehand strokes were filmed with two digital video cameras and measured with pedar system for plantar pressure. The plantar regions under the foot were divided into 3 regions, which were forefoot, midfoot, and rear foot. In conclusion, The plantar pressure of open stance during forehand stroke was distributed more largely to the right foot. The plantar pressure of open stance during forehand stroke was distributed more weight loads on forefoot of right than heel of right
