The Impacts of the Chungju Lake on the Fog Chracteristics of Its Surrounding Area (충주호가 주변지역의 안개 특성에 미친 영향 -충주와 제천을 중심으로-)

  • 본 연구에서는 충주호가 그 주변지역의 안개 특성 변화에 미친 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 충주호 하류에 위치하는 충주와 상류의 제천지역을 사례로 안개일수, 안개 발생.소산시각, 안개 발생 전일의 바람과 일교차 및 기압배치, 상층의 바람 등을 분석하였다. 충주댐 건설 후 두 지역의 안개일수가 크게 증가하였는데, 제천에서는 상대습도와 수증기압이 증가하였으나 충주의 경우는 감소하였다. 또한 충주지역에서는 안개 발생시각이 빨라졌는데, 북서풍계 바람이 불 경우 더욱 뚜렷하며 안개의 빈도도 증가하였다. 안개 소산시각은 충주에서는 빨라졌으나 제천에서는 늦어졌다. 일교차는 충주에서는 감소하였고, 제천지역에서는 증가하였다. 제천의 안개 증가가 충주호에서 공급되는 수증기에 의한 것인데 반하여, 충주의 그것은 방류수의 수온과 기온 차이에 의한 것이다. 이에 따라 충주에서는 동절기에는 증발현상에 의한 안개가, 하절기에는 수면에서의 기온역전에 의한 안개가 크게 늘었다.

  • Contamination flashover is responsible for insulator electrical failures. Particularly, in Korea, with its perennially dry spring, the first spring rain often cause serious line outages by forming a conductive liquid film on the insulator surface. Rainwater and fog are not normally conductive but unfortunately atmospheric dust deposited on the insulator surface contains soluble salts which may lead to bad condition of insulation by combining watery and salts. Transmission design engineers have used a contamination map drawn on the traditional paper map. But it is not convenient because it does not include the information of Geographic Information accurately. This paper explains the newly developed salt contamination map program using Geographic Information System, which provide accurate geographic information. The program is designed to use four parts of datum, salt contamination levels, 345kV & 154 kV transmission lines, power plants & substations and background map. The digital background map is composed of raster files, the others are done by vector map.

The influence of filler for silicone rubber tracking (실리콘 고무의 트래킹에 미치는 충전재의 영향)

  • Tracking is one of the biggist problems to be overcome in polymeric materials for outdoor insulators. But It can be decreased with the addition of filler such as alumina trihydrate (ATH). In this paper, the tracking of surface and evaluation of insulating ability at silicone rubber is investigated, using the salt fog test. At initial state, the peak leakage current and numbers by dry band arcing is increasing with increasing the filler level, but at aged state decreasing at high concentration filler samples. This is because the roughness of the surface may contribute to the increase in peak leakage cur-rent and numbers. As increasing the filler level, the insulating ability of materials is higher and weight loss is decreased. The mechanism of insulating failure is occurred by the erosion than the tracking and the erosion caused weight loss of 2 g.

  • Now and then there are many electrical accidents between cable and line post insulator which is degraded by long time using, causing leakage current on the surface of insulator. In this paper it is denied that the 22.9 KV-y distribution lines are protected by binding cover which is needed from fog or rainy moisture, surges occurring by swiching or lightening pulse. It is analyzed to investgate the unballanced transfer characteristics and reflection coefficient by using bidding cover and non-cover. It was tested the radio interference voltage in the test room. In the factory it was tested the amount of leakage current causing on the surface of insulator in the state of no load and 70(%) load.

  • This paper dealt with the surface aging characteristics of silicone rubber used as the surface material of outdoor polymer insulators under accelerated aging condition. There are many aging factors in natural environment. In this paper, the silicone rubber were accelerated to evaluate their performance against salt fog, that is, they were dipped in pure water and salt water under boiling condition. Then, contact angle and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) were used to estimate surface hydrophobicity, and dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$) and surface leakage current were measured to observe the electrical characteristics.

  • The potential use of ranging sensors for reducing the occurrence of accidents in real environment is explored by many companies and laboratories. Most of the sensors under investigation utilize the FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) waveforms. The automotive environment presents to the FMCW radar sensor a multitude of moving and fixed targets and the sensor must detect and track only the targets which may pose a threat of collision or passengers accident. The sensor must function accurately in the presence of background echoes generated by moving and fixed targets, ground reflections, atmospheric noises, including rains, fog, and, snow and noise generated within the receiver. False detection of the desired target in this environment may issue false alarms. That may be dangerous to the passenger and the vehicle. A high false alarm rate is totally unacceptable. The false alarm mechanism consists of noise peaks, crossing the threshold and the undesired response of the system to off lane targets which are not potentially hazardous to the radar equipped vehicle. This paper presents an improve technique safety performance for driver-less operation using FMCW radar sensors.

  • This paper studies on the outdoor field test facilities which are established for weather-resist and mechanical-resist property teat of composite insulator. We have established measuring and data acquisition system for various test conditions -leakage current, temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind velocity and rainfall. The merry-go-round test and salt fog test have been studied in order to evaluate non tracking property of rubber material. Especially we have checked the relationship between hydrophobicity and outdoor exposure degree by contact angle measurement.

  • 모바일 사용과 사물 인터넷 기술의 발전으로 인해 이를 적용할 수 있는 분야가 점점 다양해지고 이러한 기술들을 이용하는 사용자들의 수도 비약적으로 증가하였다. 기존에 존재하던 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술은 사물 인터넷 환경에 방대한 데이터를 실시간으로 처리하는데 적합하지 않으며, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 사용자와 조금 더 근접한 영역에서 응답 시간을 최소화하고 병목 현상을 해결할 수 있는 포그 컴퓨팅이 제안되었다. 이 논문에선 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 혼잡도 증가와 속도 감소로 인한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 포그 컴퓨팅이라는 새로운 시스템의 개념과 이에 따른 보안 이슈를 정리하고, 연구방향을 제시한다.

  • Image processing operations like smoothing and edge detection, and many more are very widely used in areas like Computer Vision. We classify the image processing domain as seven branches-image acquirement and output, image coding and compression, image enhancement and restoration, image transformation, image segmentation, image description, and image recognition and description. We implemented algorithms of gaussian smoothing, laplace sharpening, image contrast effect, image black and white effect, image fog effect, image bright and dark effect, image median filter, and canny edge detection. Such experimental results show the figures respectively.

A Study on the Collision Accident between Ferry Golden Jindo and Ferry Princess

  • Ferry Golden Jindo collided with Ferry Princess near the No.7 light buoy of Incheon Port No.1 Passage in restricted visibility due to dense fog. The result was that Ferry Golden Jindo got a hole at the starboard midship section shell plating and Ferry Princess sustained damages at the starboard bow and 25 persons injured The aim of this paper is to investigate this collision accident, to clarify its causes, and to prevent such accident from occurring again In short, this collision resulted from Princess' high speed in restricted visibility, Golden Jindo's carelessness of watchkeeping, lack of proper safety training of crew, lack of instruction of supervisor, carelessness af PTMS Center and indifference of Korea Shipping Association, etc.
