PEM 연료전지 유로에서 물의 거동에 대한 CFD 해석 (CFD analysis on the behavior of liquid water in flow channel of PEM fuel cell)

  • Liquid water in flow channel is an important factor that limits the steady and transient performance of PEM fuel cells. A computational fluid dynamics study based on the volume-of-fluid (VOF) multi-phase model is conducted to understand the transport behavior of liquid water in flow channel. The liquid water transport in $180^{\circ}$ bends is investigated and the effect of chamfering is discussed. The effect of wall adhesion is also considered by varying the contact angle of channel surfaces. The result of this study is believed to provide a useful guideline for design optimization of flow patterns or channel configurations of PEM fuel cells.

  • Accurate simulation of free-surface wave flows around a ship is very important for better hull-form design. In this paper, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, termed SNUFOAM, which is based on the open source libraries, OpenFOAM, was developed to predict the wave patterns around a ship. Additional anti-diffusion source term for minimizing a numerical diffusion, which was caused by convection differencing scheme, was considered in the volume-fraction transport equation. The influence of the anti-diffusion source term was tested by applying it to free-surface wave flow around the Wigley model ship. In results, the band width of the volume fraction contours between 0.1 to 0.9 at the hull surface was narrowed by considering the anti-diffusion term.

  • Using two- and three-dimensional fluid simulation codes, we have suggested several new plasma display panel (PDP) cell structures that have high luminous efficiency compared with conventional structure. To improve the luminance and discharge efficiency, we utilize long discharge path, lower electric field region, and reduction of power consumption by adding one auxiliary electrode or reducing the electrode area. Consequently, luminous efficiency increases about 1.8 times. Furthermore for the resonance radiation trapping effect in PDP system, we have described a self-consistent radiation transport model coupled with fluid simulation using modified Holstein's equation.

  • Quest for reliability of hydraulic runners is a concern for all mature electricity producers. The fatigue damage caused by dynamics loads is frequently the root cause of runner failure. This paper presents the damage tolerance approach based on fracture mechanics as the method chosen by Alstom and Hydro-Qu$\acute{e}$bec to predict effects of damage on runner lifetime and consequently to be use as a design method. This is sustained by a research on fracture mechanics properties of runner materials and by recommendations on the strategy to define a safety margin for design. The acquired knowledge permits to identify potential improvement of the runner lifetime without significant cost increase, like being more specific on some chemical composition or heat treatment.

평판형 태양열 집열판 공기층의 열 및 유체유동 (Thermal and Fluid Flow of the Air Layer in a Flat Type Solar Collector)

  • This study represents numerical analysis on the thermal and fluid flow of the air layer in a solar collector. The boundary conditions was assumed that the top and bottom wall of the air layer have a heating and cooling surface, respectively, and this calculation model have a solid body with a cooling temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. As the results of simulations, the magnitudes of the velocity vectors and isotherms are increased proportionally to the tilt angles. As the tilt angle is increased, the mean Nusselt numbers are increased and the maximum value of the mean Nusselt number was appeared at tilt angle $\theta=75^{\circ}$.

혈전이 있는 축대칭 동맥류에서의 산소전달현상 (Oxygen Transport in Axisymmetric Thrombosed Aneurysm)

  • 국부적 저산소증(localized hypoxia)은 산소공급의 저하로 인하여 조직세포를 파괴하고 관강압력에 대한 동맥류 벽의 저항을 현저하게 감소시킨다고 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 동맥류 파열의 원인이 되는 저산소증의 기전을 이해하기 위하여 혈전의 두께에 따라 세 가지의 축대칭 동맥류 모델을 구성하여 동맥류 내 혈전을 통한 정상 층류유동 (steady laminar flow)에서의 산소전달현상(O$_2$transport phenomenon)을 유체-고체 열전달 현상과의 유사성을 이용하고 Fick의 법칙을 적용하여 해석하였다. 전산해석을 통해서 혈전이 형성된 혈관에서 산소농도는 혈관 벽에서 가장 낮게 나타났으며 혈전의 크기가 증가할수록 저산소농도(low $O_2$concentration) 영역이 혈관 벽 가까이 넓게 분포되어 저산소증의 가능성이 증가됨을 알 수 있었다 본 연구를 통해서 동맥류 내의 혈전은 구조와 크기에 따라 산소의 흐름에 주요한 영향을 미침을 확인할 수 있었다.

압전세라믹 냉각팬에 의한 강제 공랭 모듈 주위의 유체유동과 열전달 특성 (Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics around a Surface-Mounted Module Cooled by Forced Air Flow by Piezoelectric Cooling Fan)

  • This paper reports the fluid flow and heat transfer around a module cooled by forced air flow generated by a piezoelectric(PZT) cooling fan. A flexible PZT fan with distortion in a fluid transport system of comparatively simple structure which was mounted on a PCB in a parallel-plate channel($450{\times}80{\times}700mm^3$) accelerates surrounding fluid locally. Input voltages of 20-100V and a resonance frequency of 23Hz were used to vibrate the cooling fan. Input power to the module was 4W. The cooling effect using a PZT fan was larger than that of free convection. Fluid flow around the module were visualized by using PIV system. The temperature distribution around heated module were visualized by using liquid crystal film(LCF). We found that the flow type was y-shaped and the cooling effect was increased by the wake generated by a piezoelectric cooling fan.

  • The numerical model that can describe the ignition of pseudospark discharge using hybrid fluid-particle(Monte Carlo )method has been developed. This model consists of the fluid expression for transport of electrons and ions and Poisson's equation in the electric field. The fluid equation determines the spatiotemporal dependence of charged particle densities and the ionization source term is computed using the Monte carlo method. This model has been used to study the evolution of a discharge in Argon at 0.5 torr, with an applied voltage if 1kV. The evolution process of the discharge has been divided into four phases along the potential distribution : (1) Townsend discharge, (2) plasma formation, (3) onset of hollow cathode effect, (4) plasma expansion. From the numerical results, the physical mechanisms that lead to the rapid rise in current associated with the onset of pseudospark could be identified.

거시교통류 모니터링 지표산출을 위한 적정 프로브차량 비율 결정에 관한 연구 (An Application of Sampling to Determine a Proper Rate of Probe Vehicles for Macroscopic Traffic Flow Monitoring Indices)

  • 본 논문에서는 거시교통류 모니터링을 위한 세 가지 지표를 다루고 신뢰성 있는 지표산출에 필요한 적정 프로브차량 비율을 결정하기 위해 샘플링 기법을 이용하는 방법에 대하여 연구한다. 모니터링 세 가지 지표로는 Travel Time Index(TTI), Acceleration Noise(AN) 그리고 Two Fluid(TF)를 살펴보고, 적정 프로브 차량 비율의 결정방법으로는 절대오차를 이용한 표본크기의 결정방법과 상대오차를 이용한 표본크기의 결정방법에 대하여 고찰한다. 그리고 표본추출비율에 따른 지표 값 변동을 비교 검토하기 위해 서울시 강남지역의 대규모 자료를 이용하여 모의실험을 실시하였다. 모의실험 결과 교통수요 단계(Demand Level)가 증가함에 따라 상대오차를 이용한 표본 추출비율이 줄어들며, 추출비율은 허용오차, 링크통과차량의 수와 반비례 관계이므로 추출비율을 증가시킬수록 허용오차를 줄일 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

안점의 꽃갯지렁이 난포세포로 체강액 단백질의 단계특이적 유입을 위한 GTP-Binding Protein의 개입 (Involvement of GTP-Binding Proteins in Stage-Specific Receptor-Mediated Endocytosis of Coelomic Fluid Proteins into Oocytes of Pseudopotamilla occelata)

  • 안점의 꽃갯지렁이(Pseudopotamilla occelata)의 난자형성중 난황단백질의 전구체인 체강액 단백질(CP)은 수용체에 의해 중개되는데 이러한 수용체 중개에 의한 난모세포내로의 유입은 GTP-binding protein에 의해 조절되는 것으로 확인되었다. 체강액 단백질(CP)을 가장 활발히 투과시키는 중기 난모세포내로의 125 I-CP의 유입은 GTP에 의해 촉지되었고, GTP 유사체인 GTPrS나 GTP$\beta$S의 효과를 금입자로 표지된 체강액 단백질을 이용하여 전자현미경으로 확인해 본 결과, gold-labeled CP는 난황립에 집중되었고, 이러한 현상도 GTP에 의해서는 촉진되었고 GTPrS에 의해서는 억제되었다.
