고속 라우터를 위한 Drop-tail방식의 공정한 대역할당 알고리즘 (A Fair Drop-tail Bandwidth Allocation Algorithm for High-speed Routers)

  • Because the random early detection(RED) algorithm deals all flows with the same best-effort traffic characteristic, it can not correctly control the output link bandwidth for the flows with different traffic characteristics. To remedy this problem, several per-flow algorithms have been proposed. In this paper, we propose a new per-flow type Fair Droptail algorithm which can fairly allocate bandwidth among flows over a shared output link. By evenly allocating buffers per flow, the Fair Droptail can restrict a flow not to use more bandwidth than others. In addition, it can be simply implemented even if it employs the per-flow state mechanism, because the Fair Droptail only keeps each information of flow in active state.

  • We study a boundary optimal control problem of the fluid flow governed by the Navier-Stokes equations. the control problem is formulated with the flow through a channel with steps. The first-order optimality condition of the optimal control is derived. Finite element approximations of the solutions of the optimality system are defined and optimal error estimates are derived. finally, we present some numerical results.

의료기관의 영업활동 현금흐름이 차입금 변동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cash Flows from Operating Activities on the Changes in Borrowing in General Hospitals and Hospitals)

  • Objectives : Cash Flows from operating activities is the most important part of the cash flow statement and it serves as an important financing source. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the contents of cash flows from operating activities on the changes in borrowings. Methods : In this study financial data from 2011 to 2014 were used to analyz 36 general hospitals and 85 hospitals according to the index displaying variation against the previous year. Results : For general hospitals, borrowings in cash flow from financing activities increased as net income decreased; while depreciation etc increased in cash flow from operating activities. For hospitals, borrowings in cash flow from financing activities increased as the gain on disposition of tangible assets in cash flow from operating activities decreased. Conclusions : General hospitals need to control the management of borrowings and depreciation at the level of funding management; whereas hospitals need to manage of future cash forecasts for stability of operational funds.

  • It was known conceptually that ferrofluid or air driven flows induced by waste heat energy could generate electric power in surrounding windings by changing the magnetic flux with time through the colis. In the last decade, a ferrohydrodynamics energy harvesting system based on magnetorheology has been investigated experimentally and numerically. However, it was focused on the movement of air droplets or nanoparticles in the ferrofluid, therefore the electric power generated in the device was not enough to use practically. In this study, we developed the electrical generation concept based on magnetic particle flows for harvesting large amount of electric power and conducted measurements and computations for verifying the concept of electrical generation. In order to obtain a significant amount of electrical energy by using magnetic particle flows, it was critical to control the magnetization direction of magnetic nanoparticles in the fluid by a permanent magnet and to change the magnetic flux with time by air bubbles when the fluid flows in a millimeter-sized channel passed through surrounding windings.

Temperature and diameter effect on hydrodynamic characteristic of surfactant drag-reducing flows

  • Hydrodynamic characteristic of surfactant drag-reducing flows is still not fully understood. This work investigated the temperature and diameter effect on hydrodynamic characteristic of cationic surfactant drag reducing flows in pipes. Solution of oleyl bishydroxyethyl methyl ammonium chloride (Ethoquad O/12), 900 ppm, as a cationic surfactant and sodium salicylate (NaSal), 540 ppm, as a counter-ion was tested at 12, 25, 40, and $50^{\circ}C$ in pipes with diameter of 13, 25, and 40 mm. Drag reduction effectiveness of this surfactant solution was evaluated in 25 mm pipe from 6 to $75^{\circ}C$. Rheological characteristic of this solution was measured by stress control type rheometer with cone-and-plate geometry. Scale-up laws proposed by previous investigators were used to evaluate the flow characteristic of the solution. It was found that this surfactant solution has clear DR capability until $70^{\circ}C$. Result of this work suggested that temperature has a significant influence in changing the hydrodynamic entrance length of surfactant drag reducing flows. From rheological measurement, it was found that the solution exhibits Shear Induced Structure at all temperatures with different degree of peak viscosity and critical shear rate.

한강에서의 하천유지유량 산정 (Estimation of Instream Flow in Han River)

  • 본 연구는 하천유지유량의 개념을 정립하여 기존의 하천유지유량 개념의 모호성 및 산정방법의 차이에서 오는 문제점을 방지하기 위한 것이다. 평균갈수량은 하천의 건천화 방지 등의 기능을 유지하기 위하여 하류에 흐르도록 보장해 주어야 할 유량으로 규정하였으며 환경보존유량은 하천환경의 적절한 보존을 위하여 주운, 염해 방지, 하천관리시설의 보호, 수질보전, 어업, 하구폐쇄의 방지, 지하수위의 유지, 동식물의 보호, 경관등에 필요한 유량으로 규정하였다. 이를 위하여 한강의 인도교 지점을 선정하여 유황분석을 실시하였으며 각 지점에 대하여 자연상태하의 평균갈수량을 산정하였다. 위에서 언급한 하천환경보존에 관련된 9가지 기능을 종합적으로 고려한 결과, 현재로서는 수질보전이 환경보존유량의 가장 중요한 기능으로 파악되었으며 유역에서 발생되는 오염부하량과 하천에 유입되는 오염부하량을 산정하고 이에 따른 주요 지점의 장래수질을 예측하였다. 또한 예측된 장래수질과 환경기준을 비교하여 인도교 지점의 적정회석유량을 산정하였다. 산정된 평균갈수량과 환경보존유량은 비소비성 유량이므로, 이 두 유량에서 큰 것을 택한 유량, 즉 Max. (평균갈수량, 환경보존 유량)을 하천유지유량으로 산정 제시하였다. 이 유량에 하류의 유수점용을 위하여 필요한 양, 즉 소비성 유량인이 수유량을 더하면 하천관리의 기준이 되는 하천관리유량을 설정할 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 한강뿐만 아니라 그 외의 주요 하천에 대해 체계적인 하천 관리를 수행하는데 기본 자료로서 크게 이바지 할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Butterfly valves are commonly used as control valves in applications where the pressure drops required of the valves relatively low. As the shutoff valve (on/off service) or throttling valves (for flow or pressure control), the higher order and the better precision of butterfly valves are required. The it's more and more essential to know the flow characteristic around the valve. Due to the fast progress of the flow visualization and numerical technique, it becomes possible to observe the flows around a valve and to estimate the performance of a valve. Researching these results did not gave only access to understand the process of the valve flows at different valve opening angles, but also was made to determine the accuracy of the employed method. Furthermore, the results of the three-dimensional analysis can be used in the design of butterfly valve in the industry.

  • We propose a new estimation method for rate adjustment in the face of a packet loss in the TFRC protocol, a TCP-Friendly congestion control protocol for UDP flows. Previous methods respond in a sensitive way to a single packet loss, resulting in oscillatory transmission behavior. This is an undesirable for multimedia services demanding constant bandwidth. The proposed TFRC provides more smooth and fair (against TCP flows) transmission through collective response based on multiple packets loss events. We show our "Exponential smoothing method" performs better than known "Weight smoothing method" in terms of smoothness and fairness.

  • 본 논문에서는, 인터넷 백본 네트워크상에서 악성의 네트워크 공격 트래픽을 고립시킴으로서 네트워크 인프라를 보호하기 위한 트래픽 제어 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 개별 플로우 또는 개별 패킷들에 기반을 둔 기존의 방법들과 달리 제안된 공격 탐지 및 제어 방법은 집합된 트래픽 수준에서 운영되므로 계산의 복잡성을 현저히 줄일 수 있으므로 네트워크 공격에 대한 전역 인프라 구축에 활용 가능하다. 실험 결과는 제안된 방법에 의한 트래픽 제어가 네트워크 공격이 이루어질 시 정상 트래픽과 네트워크 자원들을 적절히 보호할 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • A numerical study is performed to investigate pressure drops, particle trajectories and erosion around orifice plates in pulverized coal pipe lines. Particle impaction rates change significantly with orifice shapes and Stokes numbers. At Reynolds number of $5{\times}10^5$, the pulverized coal flows well with streamlines and do not collide at the orifice plates at small sizes (${\sim}20{\mu}m$). However, the large particles (over $70{\mu}m$) impact on the front face of the orifice and erode the orifice surface. The pressure loss coefficients around the erode orifice are largely different from the designed original orifice.
