환상류-간헐류 천이 모텔이 드라이아웃 모델에 미치는 영향 평가 (Evaluation of the Effect of Annular-to-Intermittent Plow Transition Model on the Dryout Model)

  • The initial conditions such as the film thickness and the void fraction at the onset of annular flow are required for the analytical dryout model. The Disturbance Wave Instability model(DWI model) is one of the model describing the Annular-to-Intermittent Flow regime Transition(AIFT). The experimental CHF conditions for the uniformly heated tube were compared with the predictions by the modified Levy model, for which the initial conditions at AIFT were estimated by the DWI model. For the flow through long tubes with small inlet subcooling, the effect of AIFT model on the dryout prediction was little. However, the use of DWI model gave better prediction of CHF in a short tube.

Canard Rotor/Wing 비행체 추진시스템의 회전익 및 천이모드 성능

  • 이륙중량 900㎏의 CRW 비행체에 맞게 설계한 추진시스템에 대해서 회전익모드 및 천이모드에서의 성능해석을 수행하였다. 추진시스템은 터보제트엔진, 덕트류 및 노즐로 구성된다. 엔진 터빈출구부터 노즐까지의 덕트 내부유동을 1차원 유동으로 가정하여 압축성, 점성유동해석을 하였다. 특히 로터 블레이드내의 유동은 점성효과와 함께 원심력의 효과도 고려하였다. 계산결과로 회전익모드에서 요구동력을 만족시키기 위한 엔진 Throttle 범위와, 천이모드에서 요구동력 및 요구출력을 만족시키기 위한 엔진 Throttle, 유량배분, 로터회전속도, 순항 노즐면적 등을 제시하였다.

PDMS 기반 초소수성 마이크로 채널내의 유동 및 표면 젖음 전이 가시화에 관한 연구 (Visualization of Flow and Wetting Transition in PDMS Superhydrophobic Microchannel)

  • We investigate the slippage effect in a micro-channel depending on the surface characteristics; hydrophilic, hydrophobic, and super-hydrophobic wettabilities. The micro-scale grooves are fabricated on the vertical wall to make the super-hydrophobic surfaces, which enable us visualize the flow fields near walls and directly measure the slip length. Velocity profiles are measured using micro-particle image velocimetry (Micro-PIV) and compared those in the hydrophilic glass, hydrophobic PDMS, and super-hydrophobic PDMS micro-channels. To directly measure the velocity in the super-hydrophobic micro-channel, the transverse groove structures are fabricated on the vertical wall in the micro-channel. The velocity profile near the wall shows larger slip length and, if the groove structure is high and wide, the liquid meniscus forms curves into the valley so that the wavy flow is created after the grooves.

Prandtl 수에 따른 옵셋 스트립 핀에서의 열 및 유동 분석 (Thermo-Flow Analysis of Offset-Strip Fins according to Prandtl Number)

  • This paper numerically investigates thermo-flow characteristics of offset strip fins to obtain a correlation between heat transfer and pressure drop. The flow was divided into three regimes, i.e. laminar, transition and turbulent. The predicted j and f values from the SST k-$\omega$ turbulence model agreed with previous correlations with the error less than 20% in transition and turbulent regimes. Heat transfer and pressure drop were predicted by varying Prandtl number from 0.5 to 40. The Prandtl number showed little effects on pressure drop but had great effect on the heat transfer characteristics. An overall correlation to predict j was suggested by incorporating the effect of Pr and a new j correlation was suggested for each Pr.

핀-관 열교환기에서의 핀의 물 접촉각이 응축잔수량에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Water Contact Angles of the Fin Surfaces of the Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchangers on the Water Hold-up)

  • An experimental study on the behavior of the water hold-up by condensation of a fin-and-tube heat exchanger with regard to the surface characteristics, i.e., contact angle, was conducted. The static and dynamic contact angles were measured, and condensation experiments were conducted. Flow patterns on the fins with different surface characteristics were visualized. Results showed that the static contact angle is proportional to the dynamic contact angle within the range of this study. The water hold-up of the heat exchanger increases as the static or dynamic contact angle of its surfaces increases. Existence of transition of flow patterns was found as the static or dynamic angle increase. Due to the transition in the flow patterns, changes in the gradient of the water hold-up is occurred around the static angle of 8$0^{\circ}C$.

확산방정식을 이용한 헬리컬 드래그펌프의 성능해석 (Analysis of Pumping Performance of a Helical Drag Pump Using the Diffusion Equation)

  • A simple analytical model of rarefied channel flow is developed to predict the compression ratio in a helical drag pump. If the surface velocity is zero, the model reduces to a capillary leaks. Predictions of our model agree well with the Knudsen's data for capillary leaks in transition flow, in addition to giving a good account of the Knudsen minimum. Also, the present results are compared with experimental data, and good agreement is obtained over the entire pressure range from molecular to slip flow.

태풍 민들레의 온대저기압화 과정에 대하여 (On Extratropical Transition of Tropical Cyclone MINDULLE)

  • A significant number of tropical cyclones move into the midlatitudes and go through transformation procedure into extratropical cyclones. This process is generally referred to as extratropical transition of the tropical cyclone. In this study, MIDULLE(0407) case is selected. A thorough analysis is made using the GDAPS analysis data and MTM (Moving-nest Typhoon Model) model output. It is found that during the extratropical transition an important dynamics in the environmetal flow field occurs in which colder, drier (warm, moist) air penetrates in the western (eastern) quadrant of MINDULLE's outer circulation, which in turn initiates an asymmetry in the distribution of wind and temperature of the tropical cyclone. Simulated MTM result also reveals similar properties as in GDAPS analysis data. MTM result shows the gradual transition to the asymmetric distribution of wind and thickness as the extratropical transition proceeds. It is also found that the warm core disappears during the extratropical transition stage. Also, vortex tube is shown tilting towards the west during the transition. And the precipitation expands poleward of the center and the maximum precipitation appears to the left of MINDULLE which is consistent to the observations.

스크램제트 엔진에서의 모드 천이에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Study on Mode Transition in a Scramjet Engine)

  • 본 연구에서는 모드 천이가 발생하는 동안 상세한 유동 특성을 조사하기 위해, 이론분석과 수치해석을 수행하였다. 이론분석은 기존의 기체역학과 종래 보고된 이론식들 재정립하였으며, 수치해석은 2차원 비정상 압축성 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 풀기 위해 fully implicit finite volume scheme을 사용해 수행하였다. 해석의 검증을 위하여 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 격리부 입구 전온도와 수소 연료의 당량비를 변화시키면서 모드 천이에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 해석과 실험 결과는 정성적으로 잘 일치하였다. 당량비가 증가하면 스크램제트 모드에서 램제트 모드로 천이가 발생하였다. 이 때, 천이는 당량비에 따라 불연속적으로 나타나며, Non-allowable region이 존재하였다. 한편 격리부 입구에서 전온도의 증가는 모드 천이 경계를 변화시켰다.

액체배관으로부터 위험물질 누출속도 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Release Rate of Hazardous Materials from Liquid Pipeline)

  • 탱크와 연결된 배관에서 원하지 않은 사고로 인해 액체 위험물질의 누출이 발생할 경우 천이영역에서의 누출속도 계산방법을 제시하였다. 배관에서의 액누출에 관한 누출속도는 층류와 난류영역에서 Crowl and Louvar 등이 제시한 모델식을 이용하여 프로그램 또는 직접계산에 의해 이루어지고 있으나, 천이영역에 대한 모델식은 없었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Lap-Mou Tam 등이 실험한 천이영역에서 레이놀즈수에 따른 마찰계수 실험값을 이용하여 천이영역에 대한 누출속도 값을 계산하였고 이 값을 층류와 난류에 관한 모델식을 사용한 값과의 비교를 통해 천이영역에서 일반적으로 사용할 수 있는 모델식으로 난류에 관한 모델식으로 계산한 값에 안전율 $30\%$를 추가한 값을 위험평가에 사용할 수 있음을 보였다.
