  • Soil erosion, transportation, and sedimentation by water flow often occur in a stream. This excessive occurrence threatens the safety of hydraulic structures, and aggravates natural disasters like flood. To prevent soil disaster according to the soil erosion, it is necessary to predict accurate sediment outflow primarily. Besides, it is very important to choose appropriate models by basin characteristics, to estimate accurate quantity of related factors, and to acquire available hydrological data. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to estimate soil erosion amount and sediment amount according to rainfall-runoff by using rainfall, discharge, and sediment in the Seolmacheon experimental catchment. And, it proposed sediment delivery ratio of the Seolmacheon catchment by result of studying sediment delivery ratio. Hereafter, this study will estimate sediment delivery ratio by basin characteristics, and formulate the method of estimating soil erosion and sediment outflow in various conditions by applying the results in other catchments.

  • Sediment-laden water is problematic in aquatic ecosystem and for hydraulic structures in a watershed, and agriculture area in a watershed is one of source areas of nonpoint source (NPS), since soil surface typically exposures due to agricultural activities. Especially, severe sediment might flow into stream when agricultural area is located near stream like the Imha-dam watershed. Soil erosion is affected by precipitation, therefore there is a need to consider precipitation characteristics in soil erosion and best management practices (BMPs) simulation. The Web-based Spreadsheet Tool for the Estimation of Pollutant Load (STEPL WEB) allows estimating long-term sediment loads and the impact of best management practices to reduce sediment loads. STEPL WEB and predicted precipitation data by MIROC-ESM model was used to estimate sediment loads and its reduction by filter strip and conversion of agricultural area to forest in the future 30 years. The result indicates that approximately 70 % of agricultural area requires filter strip installation or that approximately 50 % of agricultural area needs to be converted to forest, for 41 % of sediment load reduction.

  • Modern manufacturing industries is to produce both precise and robust mechanical parts without failure while they are in service. In order to prevent a part failure for its lifetime, a mechanical design for a part should be examined on a basis of mechanical simulation. A nozzle plate, being a key part in steam engines, changes flow directions of steam in a turbine used in power plant. This paper is to the design and test for part safety and durability. Currently, nozzle plates are fabricated by welding nozzles to their plates. Welding causes some defects on the used materials while they are being manufactured. Another major defect is un-even pitches between welded nozzles. Welding causes phase changes because of high melting temperature of metal. This leads to decay on the welding spots, which weakens their structural strength and then, may lead to early damages on mechanical structures. This research proposes assembly-typed nozzle plate without welding. From the beginning, nozzle and plate are designed for insertion-typed assembly. Nozzle head and foot are designed in accordance with the grooves on outer ring and inner ring of a plate to make mating surfaces. Then the nozzle plate should be proved for structural and fatigue safety before they are put in manufacturing. This research adopts commercial softwares for modeling and mechanical simulation. The test result shows that the design with smaller mating area and deeper insertion produces higher safety in terms of structure and durability. From the conclusion, this paper proposes the assembly-typed nozzle plate to replace the welding typed.

  • A real-time three-dimensional vision is a passive system, which would support various applications including collision avoidance, home networks. It is a good alternative of active systems, which are subject to interference in noisy environments. In this paper, we designed a SAD correlator with respect to resource usage for a real-time three-dimensional vision system. Regular structures, linear data flow and abundant parallelism make the correlation algorithm a good candidate for a reconfigurable hardware. We implemented two versions of SAD correlator in HDL and synthesized them to determine resource requirements and performance. From the experiment we show that the SAD correlator fits into reconfigurable hardware in marginal cost and can handle about 30 frames/sec with $640{\times}480$ images.

  • Hydrogen is sustainable energy without environment pollution. In this study, experiments and analysis of hydrogen generation from gases methanol and ethanol using cylindrical barrier discharge reactor was carried out. The discharge reactor to generate hydrogen molecules used in this work is one type of Non-thermal Plasma (NTP) reactors and neon-transformer as power source to make a plasma was used. Hydrogen concentrations were measured as parameters of applied voltage, concentrations of methanol and ethanol, and flow rates of carrier gases($N_2$). Hydrogen generation increased according to applied voltage and produced largely in case of methanol compared with ethanol. It is thought that the reason is deeply related with those different chemical structures. Energy yield of hydrogen generation in case of ethanol decreases according to increasing applied voltage, but that in case of methanol has a peak at applied voltage of 22[kV] and decreased. Specifically, hydrogen generation increased with increasing applied voltage, but low voltage was better, which is the best parameter in the aspects of energy efficiency.

  • Modeling an equilibrium atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) in an empty computational domain has routinely been performed with the k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. However, the research objects of structural wind engineering are bluff bodies, and the SST k-${\omega}$ turbulence model is more widely used in the numerical simulation of flow around bluff bodies than the k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. Therefore, to simulate an equilibrium ABL based on the SST k-${\omega}$ turbulence model, the inlet profiles of the mean wind speed U, turbulence kinetic energy k, and specific dissipation rate ${\omega}$ are proposed, and the source terms for the U, k and ${\omega}$ are derived by satisfying their corresponding transport equations. Based on the proposed inlet profiles, numerical comparative studies with and without considering the source terms are carried out in an empty computational domain, and an actual numerical simulation with a trapezoidal hill is further conducted. It shows that when the source terms are considered, the profiles of U, k and ${\omega}$ are all maintained well along the empty computational domain and the accuracy of the actual numerical simulation is greatly improved. The present study could provide a new methodology for modeling the equilibrium ABL problem and for further CFD simulations with practical value.

  • Two types of aerodynamic admittance function (AAF) that have been adopted in bridge aerodynamics are addressed. The first type is based on a group of supposed relations between flutter derivatives and AAFs. In so doing, the aero-elastic properties of a section could be used to determine AAFs. It is found that the supposed relations hold only for cases when the gust frequencies are within a very low range. Predominant frequencies of long-span bridges are, however, far away from this range. In this sense, the AAFs determined this way are of little practical significance. Another type of AAFs is based on the relation between the Theodorsen circulation function and the Sears function, which holds for thin airfoil theories. It is found, however, that an obvious illogicality exists in this methodology either. In this article, a viewpoint is put forward that AAFs of bluff bridge deck sections are inherently dependent on oncoming turbulent properties. This kind of dependence is investigated with a thin plate and a double-girder bluff section via computational fluid dynamics method. Two types of wind fluctuations are used for identification of AAFs. One is turbulent wind flow while the other is harmonic. The numerical results indicate that AAFs of the thin plate agree well with the Sears AAF, and show no obvious dependence on the oncoming wind fields. In contrast, for the case of bluff double-girder section, AAFs identified from the turbulent and harmonic flows of different amplitudes differ among each other, exhibiting obvious dependence on the oncoming wind field properties.

  • With the industrial acceleration in a lot of countries of the world, the demand for anti-corrosion and anti-abrasion material increases continuously. Particularly, stainless steel with the fine surface and excellent corrosion resistance is widely used in various industrial fields including ship, offshore structures tidal power plant, and etc. In marine environment, however, it is easy to generate by the corrosion damage by $Cl^-$ ion and cavitation damage due to high rotation speed on stainless steel. Therefore, in this research, the cavitation erosion-corrosion test (Hybrid test) was performed for 304 stainless steel specimen used in the high flow rate seawater environment. And the cavitation damage behavior in the corrosive environment was analyzed overall. The high hardness was shown due to the formation of compressive residual stress by the water cavitation peening effect in cavitation condition. However, high current density in the potentiodynamic polarization experiment presented with the breakdown of the passive film caused by physical impact. Therefore, both electrochemical characteristics and mechanical properties must be taken into account to improve the cavitation resistance in seawater.

  • Jungtaesan and Galpyeongji intrusions in the northeastern Cheongsong occur as laccolith and stock which intrude Gasongdong Formation and Dogyedong Formation, respectively. Cheongsong dike swarm, intruding the Dogyedong Formation, is closely associated with this stock. The dike swarm is more radial to focus into Galpyeongji and its outline is oval. The dikes of the dike swarm are only rhyolite dikes with flow banded, spherulitic and rare stony structures, and represents a single intrusive phase of magma. It can be interpretated that orientation of the dikes is controlled by stress states. Therefore, the dikes display a radial pattern through occupying vertical joints that have been generally attributed to radial fractures formed during doming of the sedimentary rocks by the intrusion of the Galpyeongji stock. The dike pattern could sufficiently account for dike injections into these joints.

  • Information strategy planning(ISP) is an analysis of the organization's work, information flow, and current information systems, and planning information structures to achieve organizational strategies and objectives. In addition to the systematic promotion of the information sector in the public sector, the government is required to establish an information strategy plan in order to enhance the efficiency of the information sector. However, there are many cases in which the IT project budget is reflected without establishing the information strategy planning. The purpose of this study is to clarify the criteria for establishing the information strategy planning in order to enhance the effectiveness of the information strategy planning. For this purpose, we set up a judgment model for Information strategy planning through expert group review (FGI) and conducted questionnaires on public sector experts. In addition, we proposed a project to establish an information strategy planning and an exceptional project based on the size of iinformatization project and characteristics of informatization project.
