The Effect of Cash Flow Variation on Project Performance: An Empirical Study from Kuwait

  • Despite the relationship between cash flow, financial management, and project performance, no study examined the mediating role of financial management on the relationship between cash flow and construction project performance, especially in Kuwait. The goal of this study was to examine the impact of cash flow fluctuations on construction project performance, as well as the role of financial management in mediating this relationship. To accomplish these goals, the researcher employed a descriptive-analytical method to create a questionnaire of 31 items. The study's sample was chosen at random and includes (181) project managers and firm owners from contractors' companies in Kuwait. The study found a statistically positive and significant effect of cash flow variation on project performance from the perspective of Kuwaiti contractors at the significance level (0.05), as well as a mediated role of financial management in the relationship between cash flow variation and project performance. The research came up with a number of recommendations based on the findings, including the need for contractors to have a better understanding of cash flow to arrange project activities correctly and efficiently. Further studies may be included into the effect of cash flow forecasting (planning) and financial management (control) on various construction activities.

온라인 게임에서의 플로우와 플로우에 영향을 미치는 요인 및 재사용의도의 관계에 대한 장르별 비교 (A Cross Genre Study of the Relationship among Flow, its Antecedents, and the Reuse Intention in Online Games)

  • One of the reasons for popularity of online game is owing to the interactions with other game users that would lead game the users easily involving in it. Such a holistic state is called flow. Theoretically and empirically flow is one of the antecedents influencing the intension of reusing online game. However, since there are so many kinds in online games, all of them are not the same in the way of feeling flow and level of the relationship with reuse. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between flow, fators influencing flow and reuse intension in online games genre by genre. For this purpose, we classily online game into role playing, board, arcade and simulation, and suggest a research model that would explain relationship between online game and flow comparing its difference among four game genres. Sampling 730 from online game users, we analyze the suggested model empirically by PLS and prove it to be a valid one. The result of this study would not only provide differentiate Insights to the online game providers in each genre practically but also contribute to explaining intrinsic motivation for the use of information technology theoretically.

원뿔형 벤츄리수로의 수리특성 (Hydraulic Characteristics in the Movable Venturi Flume with Circular Cone)

  • This study analyzed the hydraulic characteristics of a venturi flume with a circular cone using a 3-D numerical model which uses RANS(Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes Equation) as the governing equation. The venturi flume with the circular cone efficiently measures the discharge in the low-flow to high-flow range and offers the advantage of accurate discharge measurements in the case of a low flow. With no influence of the tail-water depth, the stage-discharge relationship and the flow behaviors were analyzed to verify the numerical simulation results. Additionally, this study reviewed the effect of the tail-water depth on the flow. The stage-discharge relationship resulting from a numerical simulation in the absence of an effect by the tail-water depth showed a maximum margin of error of 4 % in comparison to the result of a hydraulic experiment. The simulation results reproduced the overall flow behaviors observed in the hydraulic experiment well. The flow starts to become influenced by the tail-water depth when the ratio of the tail-water depth to the total head exceeds approximately 0.7. As the ratio increases, the effect on the flow tends to grow dramatically. As shown in this study, a numerical simulation is effective for identifying the stage-discharge relationship of a venturi flume with various types of venturi bodies, including a venturi flume with a circular cone.

인터넷 1인 게임 방송 BJ 속성이 시청자의 시청만족도에 미치는 영향 - 플로우(FLOW)경험을 매개변인으로 - (Influence of Internet One-person Game Broadcasting BJ Property on the Viewers' Satisfaction - Flow experience as a Mediator -)

  • 본 연구는 인터넷 1인 게임 방송 BJ 속성이 시청자의 시청만족도에 미치는 영향에 있어 플로우경험이 매개변인으로서 효과를 할 것인지를 알아보고자, 아프리카TV에서 1인 게임방송을 시청하는 총 198명의 사용자를 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 이를 분석 하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 즐거움 플로우경험은 친밀성 BJ 속성과 시청만족도의 관계에서 매개역할을 하였다. 둘째, 통제감플로우 경험은 BJ 속성과 시청만족도의 관계에서 매개역할을 하지 않았다. 셋째, 주의집중 플로우경험은 친밀성과 신뢰성 BJ 속성과 시청만족도의 관계에서 매개역할을 하였다. 넷째, 시간왜곡 플로우경험은 친밀성 BJ 속성과 시청만족도의 관계에서 매개역할을 하였다. 다섯째, 자아상실 플로우경험은 BJ 속성과 시청만족도의 관계에서 매개역할을 하지 않았다. 이는 게임 BJ의 친밀성 속성이 시청만족도에 미치는 영향에 있어 즐거움, 주의집중 그리고 시간왜곡 플로우경험은 매개 역할을 한다는 것을 확인하였다.

의료기관 현금흐름과 외부자금조달 간의 관계 (The Relationship of Cash Flow and External Funding in Hospital)

  • The study analyzed the cash flow and external funding in focusing on the relationship of the two factors in Korean hospitals and some changes in the relationship. The results analyzing this study were summarized as follows: First, the discriminant function of new external funds was generally the ratio of cash flow from operating activities to sales, the ratio of cash flow from investment activities to sales, the ratio of cash flow from financing activities to sales in order. The prediction rate of total discriminant function was more than 92%. Second, in case of Korean hospitals, it was known that the ratio of cash flow from operating activities to sales, particularly the net income to sales was the biggest influencing factor on the decision to external funding.

  • This paper investigates the relationship between J-integral and crack tip opening displacement, ${\delta}_t$ using Gordens results of numerical analysis. Estimation were carried out for several strength levels such as ultimate, flow, yield, ultimate-flow, flow-yield stress to determine the influence of strain hardening and the ratio of crack length to width on the $J-{\delta}_t$ relationship.   • PURPOSES : Two-lane highways have one lane in each direction, and lane changing and passing maneuvers take place in the opposing lane depending on the availability of passing sight distance. 2001 Korea Highway Capacity Manual (KHCM) is classified into two classes of two-lane highways (Type I, II), and average travel speed and time-delayed rate are used as measures of effectiveness (MOEs). However, since existing two-lane highways have both uninterrupted and interrupted traffic flow-system elements, a variety of free-flow speeds exhibits in two-lane highways. In addition, it is necessary to check if the linear-relationship between volumes and time-delayed rate is appropriate. Then, this study is to reestablish the relationship between average travel speed, time-delayed rate, and flow. METHODS : TWOPAS model was selected to conduct this study, and the free-flow speeds of passenger cars and the percentage of following vehicles observed in two-lane highways were applied to the model as the input. The revised relationships were developed from the computer simulation. RESULTS : In the revised average travel speed vs. flow relationship, the free-flow speed of 90km/h and 70km/h were added. It shows that the relationship between time delayed-rate and flow appeared to be appropriate with the log-function form and that there was no difference in time-delayed rate between the free flow speeds. In addition to revise the relationships, the speed prediction model and the time-delayed rate prediction model were also developed. CONCLUSIONS : The revised relationships between average travel speed, time-delayed rate, and flow would be useful in estimating the Level of Service(LOS) of a two-lane highway.

수계 상하류의 유량 및 수질 상관관계 분석 (Analysis of Correlation Relationship for Flow and Water Quality at Up and Down Streams)

  • The prediction of discharge is very important in water resources management and plan. In this study, we have analyzed discharge data of site at up and down stream in watershed. In order to forecast discharge the regression equations were developed by measuring flow data. Also, to forecast the change of water quality followed by change of inflow the correlation relationship between inflow of the Youngchun site and the Chunhju dam was shown as very high. The forecast of inflow at the Chungju dam would be possible through flow analysis of the Youngchun site. And, it is possible to forecast water quality by flow analysis because the correlation relationship of SS and turbidity followed by change of flow for each station of investigation was very high.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of teaching flow on the relationship between director's servant leadership and early childhood teachers'happiness. Methods: The subjects in this study were 241 early childhood teachers in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea. Three different inventories were utilized. The Servant Leadership Scale, Teaching Flow Scale and Happiness Scale were used. As for data analysis, SPSS & AMOS 21.0 and PROCESS macro were utilized. Results: First, the director's servant leadership, teaching flow and happiness of the teachers were all above average, and there was a significant positive correlation between their total scores of servant leadership, teaching flow and happiness. Second, The teaching flow was found to have a partial mediation effect on the on the relationship between director's servant leadership and happiness of the early childhood teachers. Conclusion/Implications: These results indicate that effort to promote director's servant leadership and teaching flow is needed to promote early childhood teachers'happiness.

환경부 8일 간격 유량·수질 관측자료와 분포형 모형을 이용한 연속오염부하곡선의 유도 (Derivation of Continuous Pollutant Loadograph using Distributed Model with 8-Day Measured Flow and Water Quality Data of MOE)

  • Reliable long-term flows by SWAT-K model were applied to the relationship between stream flow and pollutant load derived from 8-day measured data of Ministry of Environment (MOE) in order to obtain continuous loadograph and evaluate accuracy in water quality modeling for the Chungju dam watershed. The measured flow were compared with flow duration curve from the model, and it showed that measured values corresponded to the almost full range of stream flow conditions except at Odae A. And there was significant relationship ($R^2=0.60{\sim}0.97$) between measured flow and water quality load at all unit-watersheds. Applying this relationship to simulated flows, continuous loadograph was obtained and compared with modeled pollutant loads. Although there were some differences during some dry and flood seasons, those were not significant and overall trend showed a good agreement. From the results, we would be able to derive a continuous loadograph based on measured data at total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) unit-watersheds on a national scale, in which stream flow and water quality have been measured at 8-day intervals since 2004, and this could be helpful to utilize distributed water quality models with difficulty in calibrating and validating parameters from lack of measured data at present.
