엘라스토머 사출성형시 CAE 유동해석과 실제 성형품의 비교 (Comparison of CAE Flow Analysis and Practical Molding on Elastomer Injection Molding)

  • Thermoplastic elastomer(TPE) can be molded by conventional injection molding. Therefore TPE injection molding could be analyzed by commercial flow analysis software. However there are a little of gaps on CAE simulation results and practical molding. In this study, the properties of TPE were measured and applied to CAE simulation for comparing the simulation flow pattern and real flow pattern. The pattern that was controlled by injection time was match. The pattern that was controlled by injection stroke and rate was not match.

PWM 제어에 의한 솔레노이드-유량제어방식 ABS의 제동압력 특성 (Braking Pressure Characteristics of Solenoid-Flow Control Type ABS by PWM Control)

  • Solenoid-folw control type ABS is used with a 'dump and reapply' pressure control arrangement instead of using 2/2 (normal open/close) solenoid valves in convensional systems(sol. -sol. control type), a flow control valve is used which replaces the (no) inlet valve. The flow control valve controls fluid flow providing a nearly constant reapply rate( .theta. ) after the dump plase of ABS operation. In this study, to investigate a characteristics of brake pressure by PWM control, test rig was consisted of ABS hydraulic modulator, digital controller, pneumatic power supply and brake master cylinder. For comparison with experi- mental results, system modelling and computer simulation were performed. As a result, experiment results showed fairly agreement with the simulation. Also, it is shown that the pressure gradient (tan .theta. ) is affected by pressure, frequency, duty ratio and expressed with an exponential funtion.

극저온 자연순환회로의 가속 및 저중력 구간 유량 분석 (Analysis of the Flow Rate for a Natural Cryogenic Circulation Loop during Acceleration and Low-gravity Section)

  • 극저온 유체를 사용하는 발사체는 극저온 유체의 자연순환회로를 이용하여 발사체의 엔진 입구를 냉각한다. 자연순환회로의 질량유량은 순환시스템을 구성하는 배관의 길이 및 직경과 시스템으로 들어오는 열유입에 의하여 결정된다. 극저온 유체의 자연순환회로의 순환 검증 및 질량유량 측정을 위하여 실험을 진행하였으며, 이론적 계산 결과와 비교하였다. 비교 결과 12%의 오차가 있음을 확인하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 발사체 상단에서 저중력 구간 및 가속 구간에서의 자연순환 질량유량을 예측한 내용을 포함한다. 가속구간에서는 산화제탱크가 100 kPa 내외로 유지하는 것이 자연순환유량 증가에 이로웠으며, 저중력구간에서는 중력가속도의 크기에 따른 최적 압력으로 조절해야 자연순환유량의 최고값을 유지할 수 있었다.

확률밀도함수를 고려한 서식처 적합도 지수에 의한 피라미 생태유량 산정 (Estimation of ecological flow rate for Zacco platypus based on habitat suitability index considering probability density function)

  • 본 연구에서는 확률밀도함수의 서식처 적합도 지수를 사용하여 도심하천구간과 자연하천구간에서 유량점증방법론(Instream flow Incremental Methodology, IFIM)을 토대로 피라미 서식처의 생태유량을 모의하였다. 이와 같은 방법을 적용하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 PHABSIM 모형을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 서식처 적합도 지수(Kang, 2010)를 기초로 확률밀도함수의 매개변수를 조정하여 확률밀도함수의 서식처 적합도 지수를 개발하여 생태유량을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 도심하천구간에서는 정규분포가 자연하천구간에서는 2변수 log-pearson 분포가 Kang (2010)의 생태유량에 가장 근접하는 경향을 보였다. 확률밀도함수에 의한 서식처 적합도 지수와 하천구간별로 생태유량을 모의하여 확률론적 방법을 적용한 생태유량 산정기법을 제안하였다.

  • Because of complex structure of inlet and outlet flows, the performance of centrifugal fans used in a household refrigerator is affected by many parameters of duct system surrounding the fans. In this paper, the performance of a centrifugal fan is numerically analysed according to shapes of inlet bell-mouth. To improve performance of the centrifugal fan, some design parameters are selected for comparison. On a basis of these comparison, optimum shape of inlet bell-mouth is proposed to maximise the flow rate of the fan.

유체간섭을 동반하는 헬륨과 공기의 치환류 (Helium-Air Exchange Flow with Fluids Interaction)

  • This paper describes experimental investigations of helium-air exchange flows through parti¬tioned opening and two-opening. Such exchange flows may occur following rupture accident of stand pipe in high temperature gas cooled reactor. A test vessel with the two types of small open¬ing on top of test cylinder is used for experiments. An estimation method of mass increment is developed and applied to measure the exchange flow rate. A technique of flow visualization by Mach-Zehnder interferometer is provided to recognize the exchange flows. In the case of exchange flow through the partitioned opening, flow passages of upward flow of the helium and downward flow of the air within the opening are separated by vertical partition, and the two flows interact out of entrance and exit of the opening. Therefore, an experiment of the exchange flow through two-opening is made to investigate effect of the fluids interaction of the partitioned opening sys¬tem. As a result of comparison of the exchange flow rates between the two types of the opening system, it is found that the exchange flow rate of the two-opening system is larger than that of the partitioned opening system due to absence of the effect of fluids interaction. Finally, the fluids interaction between the upward and downward flows through the partitioned opening is found to be an important factor on the helium-air exchange flow.

Experimental and numerical investigations on effect of reverse flow on transient from forced circulation to natural circulation

  • In a sudden shutdown of primary pump or coolant loss accident in a marine nuclear power plant, the primary flow decreases rapidly in a transition process from forced circulation (FC) to natural circulation (NC), and the lower flow enters the steam generator (SG) causing reverse flow in the U-tube. This can significantly compromise the safety of nuclear power plants. Based on the marine natural circulation steam generator (NCSG), an experimental loop is constructed to study the characteristics of reverse flow under middle-temperature and middle-pressure conditions. The transition from FC to NC is simulated experimentally, and the characteristics of SG reverse flow are studied. On this basis, the experimental loop is numerically modeled using RELAP5/MOD3.3 code for system analysis, and the accuracy of the model is verified according to the experimental data. The influence of the flow variation rate on the reverse flow phenomenon and flow distribution is investigated. The experimental and numerical results show that in comparison with the case of adjusting the mass flow discontinuously, the number of reverse flow tubes increases significantly during the transition from FC to NC, and the reverse flow has a more severe impact on the operating characteristics of the SG. With the increase of flow variation rate, the reverse flow is less likely to occur. The mass flow in the reverse flow U-tubes increases at first and then decreases. When the system is approximately stable, the reverse flow is slightly lower than obverse flow in the same U-tube, while the flow in the obverse flow U-tube increases.

마그네슘 로드 휠의 유동성형 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flow Forming Process of Magnesium Road Wheel)

  • Low pressure die casting and flow forming have been successfully used to produce sound road wheels from magnesium alloy AM80. In the current study, high speed compression testing was initially conducted to simulate the flow forming of a Mg wheel. Subsequently the flow forming was simulated with "Forge$^{TM}$", an FEM software package. On the basis of flow forming simulations, the flow forming of the Mg wheel was performed under different conditions. For the flow forming experiments, the preform castings were made by low pressure die casting from AM80, a commercial magnesium alloy. In flow forming of the magnesium preform wheel, the flow forming of the Mg wheel was successfully accomplished when the feed rate was less than half that for the forming of an aluminum road wheel. The reduction in feed rate was 52%. Finally, a comparison with the flow forming simulations was made.

지역난방 아파트에 대한 난방에너지 실측 및 시뮬레이션 (Measurement and Simulation of Heating Energy for Apartments with District Heating)

  • Heating energy was measured in an apartment housing unit with a district heating system, varying the kind of hot water distributors. Ondol coils passing through a living room raised the temperature of the room where the heating was turned off. Including this characteristic of Ondol heating into the modeling, we performed simulations and showed a verification by comparison with the results of measurements. As a result, a main flow control method, which changes hot water flow rate supplied to a housing unit according to the thermal load, can reduce the supplied flow rate and lower the return temperature, compared with a constant flow method. That can result in decreased heat loss in utility-pipe conduits even though the heating energy supplied is almost the same. An outdoor reset control that raises the temperature of the supplied hot water if the outdoor temperature falls has the effect of a quicker response in heating than the reduced flow rate and return temperature.

중앙난방시스템의 유량제어방식에 따른 제어특성 연구 (Control Characteristics with Flow Rate Control Methods in Central Heating System)

  • In this study, control characteristics and energy performance with flow rate control methods were reviewed with the simulation. The heating system is classified such as fan coil unit and HVAC system currently used in buildings with valve control and pump inverter control. The simulation analysis program is made by TRNSYS ver. 15 with the actual data. As a result of this study, the central heating system with pump inverter control decreases electricity energy and reduces gas consumption. Inverter control method shows better performance in comparison with valve control one for energy saving.
