  • 글로우 방전(Glow Discharge, GD)과 유도결합플라스마(Inductively Coupled Plasma, ICP)-원자 방출분광법(Atomic Emission Spectrometer, AES)에서 사용되는 새로운 장치를 개발하였다. ICP-AES에서 GDAES로 전환하는 데 불과 15분 정도 소요되기 때문에, 고체 시료 및 액체시료에 포함된 극미량 원소분석을 신속하게 수행할 수 있다. 실험변수 중에서 냉각기체 유속, 시료운반기체 유속, 절단기체 유속, 보조기체 유속, 측정깊이, 이온 통과관 크기, 그리고 rf 전원의 세기 변화에 따른 원자 방출 복사선 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사 연구하였다. Cd(I) 228.8 nm, Mn(II) 257.61 nm, and Fe(II) 259.95 nm에서 측정한 검출한계는 각각 3.86, 1.49, 5.79 ppb로 측정되었으며, 직선성은 1.000으로서 우수하였다.

강제대류 및 핵비등영역에 있어서 마이크로 휜 형상이 분무냉각 열전달에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Micro-fin Structure on Spray Cooling Heat Transfer in Forced Convection and Nucleate Boiling Region)

  • 본 연구에서는 냉각면의 표면온도가 비교적 낮은 강제대류 및 핵비등영역에서 다양한 종류의 마이크로 휜이 가공된 냉각면의 분무냉각 열전달에 대해 실험적으로 연구하였다. 실험결과로부터 냉각면 표면에 가공된 마이크로 휜은 분무냉각 열전달을 촉진시키며, 냉각휜의 크기와 종류에 상관없이 분무유량이 증가할수록 분무냉각 열전달도 큰 폭으로 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 희박한 분무영역에서는 냉각면에 가공된 휜의 크기와 형상이 분무냉각 열전달에 큰 영향을 미치고 있으나, 분무유량이 증가할수록 이러한 경향은 점차 약해져 본 실험에서 가장 높은 분무유량조건에서는 편평한 냉각면을 제외한 모든 냉각면의 열유속이 거의 동일하게 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

그물어구의 모형 실험시에 발생하는 축척비 영향의 원인 및 크기 조사 (Investigation of cause and magnitude of scale effect occurring in model experiments of fishing nets)

  • In order to investigate the cause and magnitude of scale effect occurring in the model experiments of fishing nets, five pairs of Nylon pyramid nets and one pair of PE ones in which all the two nets paired were equal each other in the factors determining their flow resistance, i. e., the ratio d/l of diameter d to length l of bars, the angle f between two adjacent bars, the attack angle q of nettings to the water flow, and the wall area S of nets, and different in the values of d and l were prepared. Then, the nets were attached to the circular steel frame alternately and their flow resistances with shapes in water were measured on the sea ascribing no turbulent flows by using the tension meter made of a block bearing for the experiment. All the Nylon nets were spreads out easily in water to form a circular cone at relatively low velocity of water and showed the resistance smaller a little in the nets with larger d and l than them with smaller d and l, because the filtration of water through meshes become easier in nets especially with larger l. But PE nettings were not spread out sufficiently on account of their small flexibility and showed higher resistance especially in them with thicker twines. Therefore, the difference in bar length or mesh size and flexibility of nettings between prototype and model nets are regarded to become factors ascribing scale effect. Especially the influence of the difference in mesh size may become large significantly in actual model experiments because the mesh size of model nets is decided at much larger value than that given by scale ratio and so the difference of mesh size between the two nets become much larger than that between nets used in this experiment.

세 가지 프로브를 이용한 초고속 비행체 내부 항력 보정 기법의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Internal Drag Correction of High Speed Vehicle Using Three Probes)

  • 스크램제트 엔진을 갖는 초고속 비행체로 풍동실험을 수행하였다. 스크램제트 엔진은 별도의 압축기가 없기 때문에 간단한 구조를 갖고 있지만 연소실에서 초음속 연소가 일어날 수 있도록 흡입구를 설계하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 연소실 직전에 있는 격리부 출구면 압력 측정을 통해 내부 유동 특성 및 흡입구 시동 조건을 판단하였고 흡입구 성능 변수를 계산하여 마하수 별로 결과를 비교하였다. 유동관통형 초고속 비행체의 공력 특성도 분석하였고 정확한 공력 특성 분석을 위해서 내부 항력 보정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 내부 항력 보정을 위해 세 가지 프로브를 이용한 실험 기법을 제시하였다. 내부 항력 보정을 적용하여 내부 유동이 비행체 공력에 미치는 영향을 파악할 수 있었다.

냉각법 및 영상 처리기법을 이용한 서브마이크론 정전분무 액적의 크기분포 측정 (Measurement of Size Distributions of Submicron Electrosprays Using a Freezing Method and an Image Processing Technique)

  • The size distributions of electrospray droplets from the Taylor cone in cone-jet mode are directly measured by using a freezing method and a transmission electron microscope (TEM) image processing technique. These results are compared with the data obtained by an aerodynamic size spectrometer (TSI Aerosizer DSP). The use of glycerol seeded with NaI and a freezing method make it possible to sample droplets with their original sizes preserved. Since pictures of droplets are taken with TEM with very low vapor pressure of the solution, evaporation is suppressed by freezing. For liquid flow rates below 1 nl/sec, the measured droplet diameters by the TEM image processing technique and the aerosizer are in the range of 0.25 to $0.32{\mu}m$ and 0.30 to $0.40{\mu}m$, respectively. Comparing the TEM data with the aerosizer measurements, it has been revealed that the TEM image processing technique can afford more accurate values of droplet size distributions in the submicron range of 0.1 to $0.4{\mu}m$.

바이오 디젤 혼합비에 따른 커먼레일 인젝터의 분사 및 내구특성에 관한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on Injection and Durability Characteristics of Common-rail Injector According to mixture Ratio of Bio-diesel)

  • An object of this study is to understand the correlation of injection characteristics and injector dimensions according to biodiesel mixture. The Injection characteristics of different types of common-rail injectors are the number of nozzle holes (5~8), jet cone angle ($146^{\circ}{\sim}153^{\circ}$), hydraulic flow rate (830~900 ml/min) injection quantity and response time. Prior to characteristic experiment, the reference injector has been selected in 6 candidates injectors under the investigation of injected quantity according to the biodiesel mixture so that injector type can be determined. The injector is used for the characteristic experiment which varied the various operating conditions including pressure 23 MPa, 80 MPa, 160 MPa, changing in injection duration 0.16 ms~1.2 ms and even mixture ratio. The result shows that the nozzle hole number and cone angle influence the injection quantity much more than nozzle hole diameter at low injection pressure and the nozzle hole diameter at high injection pressure, post injection duration.

  • The low frequency combustion instability phenomena generated by pressure drop oscillation such as propellant shake in feed line are studied. To generate the flowrate oscillation by the pressure pulsation up to 400Hz without flow discontinuities and cavitations, a hydrodynamic mechanical pulsator of rotating disk type was produced. Injection pressure conditions are 5, 7 and 9 bar and pressure fluctuation frequency conditions are 0, 4, 6 and 8 Hz. When the injection pressure was oscillated by a mechanical pulsator, the spray shape was pulsated regularly. During the pulsated state of the spray with a mechanical pulsator, the spray characteristics, such as spray angle and liquid film thickness in orifice exit, were measured and compared with those in steady state without a mechanical pulsator. Though the mean injection pressure was fixed in the steady and fluctuating state, there were some differences in all measured values, i.e. liquid film thickness and spray cone angle, between both states.

원뿔 캐비테이터의 항력에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of the Drag of Conical Cavitators)

  • In this paper, a numerical analysis is carried out to study the drag of conical cavitators, supercavity generation devices for the high-speed underwater vehicle. The realizable k-∊ turbulence model and the Schnerr-Sauer cavitation model are applied to calculate steady-state supercavitating flows around cones of various cone angles. The calculated drags of the cones are decomposed of the pressure and the friction parts and their dependency on the geometry and the flow conditions have been analyzed. It is confirmed that the pressure drag coefficients of the cones can be estimated by a simple function of both the cone angle and the cavitation number while the friction drag coefficients approximately by well-known empirical formulas, e.g., Schults-Grunow's for the drag of the flat plate. Finally a practical method for estimating the total drags of supercavitating cones is suggested, which can be useful consequently for the design of conical cavitaors.

원추형 다이를 이용한 Cu-Al 층상 복합재료의 직접압출 (The Direct Extrusion of Copper Clad Aluminum Composite Materials by Using the Conical Dies)

  • This paper describes experimental investigations in the direct extrusion of copper clad aluminum rods through conical dies. Composite materials consist of two or more different material layers. Copper clad aluminum composite materials are being used fur economic and structural purposes and the development of an efficient production method of copper clad aluminum composite material rods by extrusion is very important, It is necessary to know the conditions in which successful uniform extrusion ,and sound cladding may be carried out without any defects in the direct extrusion. There are several variables that have an influence on determining a sound clad extrusion. In order to investigate the influence of these parameters on the hot direct extrudability of the copper clad aluminum composite material rods, the experimental study have been performed with various extrusion temperatures, extrusion ratios and semi-cone angles of die. Subsequently, the microscopic inspection of interface bonding is carried out for extruded products. By measuring hardness, along extrusion way of products, a variation of hardness has been discussed. Proportional flow state has been considered by measuring radius ratio of Cu sleeve and Al core before and after extrusion.
