This study investigates if the relationships between hemline and macro-economic factors (rGDP, recession, and unemployment) are still applicable as well as analyzes time lags that reflect economic factors on the hemline index using U.S. data. The hemline theory and fashion cyclical theory were applied to propose the relationships studied. The data for the hemline measurements of women's day-wear were obtained from US Vogue spring and fall editions from 1950 to 2014. Data were standardized by dividing the length from shoulder to hemline by the length from the shoulder to ankle. I aggregated 2260 samples and hemline data to create a yearly average. This study used OLS of Stata 13 program to explore the relationship between macro-economic factors and hemline. The main findings were the recession and unemployment influenced hemline length for four years in a positive direction. Furthermore, the effects of previous recession and unemployment on the current hemline were very close to the significant level respectively. This finding supports the hemline theory in that a recessionary economy is related to longer hemlines and hemlines become shorter in flourishing economic periods.

For proper installation, operation and performance of axial flow jet engines in aircrafts, the impacts and effects of inlet flow distortion in axial compressors have to be understood. Inlet distortion conditions may cause component-mismatch and instability problems known as rotating stall, and severe oscillations of mass flow rate called surge or a combination of both. Typical effects of this phenomenon include stresses and wear on the compressor blading, destruction of entire jet engines due to the failure of airfoil and mechanical failure or interruption of the combustion process. Therefore, it is important to study inlet flow distortion and its propagation effects to minimize and hence to prevent the occurrence of such calamity. The current novel integral method with parametric analysis signifies its validity to this field of research and offers much potential for further improvements. The present effort further indicates that this simple method may be flourishing in the problems of strongly distorted flow and propagating stall in axial compressor. It is therefore believe that using a more realistic and flexible velocity and pressure profiles could develop this approach further.

Activities in fields based on internet virtual reality are flourishing. Education field is not an exception, and has reached the stage of establishing a cyber university after showing its activity in the developing field of distance learning. Although some of the architectural education fields have been following this trend, the education field of architectural design has not been developed as wildly because there have been a lot of difficulties in expressing three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional web. However, it has become possible to actualize the remote lecture based on internet in the education field of architectural design through the latest developments in internet technology. The purpose of this research is to be a basis for developing a teaching method for architectural design by taking advantage of the advanced in virtual reality technology on the internet.

Many advanced scholars and policy makers say that biotechnology is and will be the most important technology in 21th century. And biotechnology has a lots of character which are new and high tech industry, costing too much on early R&D stage and so on. One of them is that it can't be developed all seater by one single firm. So effective and efficient way to solve this generic problem is using the infrastructure which is given by government for flourishing the bio industry, especially, Knowledge infrastructure. The purpose of this study is to understand and give the information about which knowledge infrastructure affects biotechnology firms to obtain competitive advantage in technological improvement. To develop this object, I made 5 variables about infrastructure in biotechnology such as high-skilled researchers infrastructure, R&D policy infrastructure, industrialization infrastructure that supports the biotechnology industry, networking infrastructure between firms, universities, research centers, and finally bio-safety infrastructure. According to this study, to obtain technological competitive advantage for Korean bio firms, all main actors those are government, industry, university, research center they try to develop bio sector at the same time. After this cooperated effort, Korean bio firms and industry can get a international competitiveness in the global society which no one conquer the market.

To explain the horizontal expansion of a rhizomatous perennial, Convallaria keiskei(lily-of-the-valley), in a study site of Chunchon, Kangwon Province, Korea, ramet growth and clonal structure were studied. Remarkable growth stategies were clarified. First, the timing for the successive phenological events such as sprouting. flowering and rhizome growth for lily-of-the-valley was fitted to exploit early spring when the canopy of overstory was opened. Second, these events were supported by effective matter allocation pattern: for example, two-year investment for new rhizomes enabled the first year ramets to mature in six weeks after sprouting and to grow up to 85% of the leaf area of perennial ramets. Finally, the ramet population was increased by local disturbances such as freezing, herbivory and collection by human. The rule that a clone was supposed to produce one new thizome per year was broken by occasional disturbances. Then, up to 5rhizomes from latent bur could be redeveloped. Based on clonal structure, 80% or total clones have from 1 to 4 ramets. this means there have occurred minor disturbances. Therefore, in conclusion, the successful flourishing of lily-of-the-valley came from its effective frowth strategy to take advantage of site disturbance.

The river environments of many streams in korea have been deteriorate through the rapid industrialization and urbanization since the 1960s. In Germany and Japan, on the other hand, much efforts on the research and project have been made for the restoration of the deteriorated streams to close-to-nature. in order to restore the deteriorated streams, therefore, it is necessary to investigate such advanced technologies and materials. In view of this requirement, various research paths are being taken focusing on coarse aggregates to make multi-functional porous concrete having continuous voids so as to improve water and air permeability, acoustic absorption, water purification, and applicability to vegetation. The Purpose of this study is to investigate the method for recovery of the environment in the streams area using porous concrete block. the porous concrete block applies for test in the cheonggae-cheon have been monitored planting during six month. after 6 months, plant grows flourishing and reconstructed in state such as nature rivers.

E-business has received much attention from entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and industry observers recently. The Internet is flourishing and the World Wide Web is growing at an exponential rate In recent years, information has become the critical commodity needed for success in the changing global economic order. Accordingly, business organizations have come to the conclusion that they require an extensive data repository in order to acquire a competitive advantage in a dynamically change market. This rich assortment of data must further be delivered and deliverable enterprise-wide in a secure and cost-efficient manner. Information technology(IT) has created the E-business as a vitally important mechanism for the storage, dissemination, and even the analysis data. The E-business has become increasingly important to a growing number of organizations in Korea in relatively short order. The present study is an attempt to develop a more through understanding of the potential and actual impact of the E-business on organizational functions and activities. Expecially, it also consists of an effort to assess the impact of the E-business on productivity. The research also addresses the issue of how the E-business affects productivity and shapes or modifies business activities. The results of literature review and study revealed that middle managers believe that the extent of the E-business use is significantly related to improvements in overall organizational functions and activities. While communication, decision-making, productivity, work collaboration, and business activities are all enhanced by E-business use, productivity appears to be most dramatically improved by Intranet use.

Regarding the ancient Sino-Kroea sea communication as the main theme, the propagation of the China-culture in Koran Peninsula and he influence of Chinese ancient shipbuilding technique for Korea are described in the paper. Frequent sea trade resulted in the flourishing of Chinese and Korean harbours on both side of Yellow Sea. Sino-Koran sea communication is of long-standing. Korean Peninsula (KP) is just as the large arm extended to the great sea from the North-east China. It is the Chinese mainland plate-lump's extended part in the Yellow Sea. In the ancient time, the land communication between China and Korea was often not unimpeded, the contact between China and KP, such as the South-Korea, depended on the sea communication mainly, Although the friendly relationship between China and Korea rose one after another in the various historical period, but considering from the great background of people's historical development, just as the modern people benefited fro the Europe-American culture, the people of ancient time also benefited from the China-culture. All China, KP and Japan obtained the development by propagating the ancient China-culture. The seagoing ships which carried out the Sino-Korea sea communication and trade, as the friendly envoys, finished the mission linked u and developed the Sino-Korea culture contact.

Chinese literature once had its splendid era in the Tang and Song Dynasties culminating in Tang poetry and influencing the literatures of its neighboring countries. However, during the past centuries, it has largely been "marginalized" on the map of world literature. On the one hand, large numbers of foreign literary works, especially those from Western countries, have been translated into Chinese, exerting a huge influence on the formation of a sort of modern Chinese literary tradition. On the other hand, few contemporary Chinese literary works have been translated into the major foreign languages. With the help of the rise and flourishing of comparative literature, contemporary Chinese literature has been moving toward the world and had its own Nobel laureate. The author, after analyzing the reasons why Chinese literature has been "marginalized," argues that Chinese literature will develop steadily in the age of globalization. Globalization in China has undergone three steps: first, it has made China passively involved in this irresistible trend; second, the country has then quickly adapted itself to this trend; and third, China has started to play an increasingly leading role in the first decade of the present century. In this way, contemporary Chinese literature and comparative literature studies will steadily develop with the help of the "Belt and Road" initiative.
