Flash reduction of graphene oxide is an efficient method for producing high quality reduced graphene oxide under room temperature ambient conditions without the use of hazardous reducing agents (such as hydrazine and hydrogen iodide). The entire process is fast, low-cost, and suitable for large-scale fabrication, which makes it an attractive process for industrial manufacturing. Herein, we present a simple fabrication method for a flexible in-plane graphene micro-supercapacitor using flash light irradiation. All carbon-based, monolithic supercapacitors with in-plane geometry can be fabricated with simple flash irradiation, which occurs in only a few milliseconds. The thinness of the fabricated device makes it highly flexible and thus useful for a variety of applications, including portable and wearable electronics. The rapid flash reduction process creates a porous graphene structure with high surface area and good electrical conductivity, which ultimately results in high specific capacitance ($36.90mF\;cm^{-2}$) and good cyclic stability up to 8,000 cycles.

In this paper, a dynamic model for the rotor shaft-coupling-blade system is developed. The blades are attached to a disk and driven by an electric motor shaft which is flexible in torsion. We assumed that the shaft torsional flexibility is lumped in the flexible coupling which is usually adopted in rotor systems. The Lagrangian approach with the small deformation theory for both blade-bending and shaft-torsional deformations is employed for developing the equation of the motion. The assumed modes method is used for estimating the blade transverse deflection. The numerical results highlight the effects of both structural damping of the system and the torsional stiffness of the flexible coupling to the dynamic response of the blade. The results showed strong coupling between the blade bending and shaft torsional vibrations in the form of inertial nonlinearif, stiffness hardening and softening.
Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions using bone-patella tendon-bone have been considered the best method by which others are compared. The notchyplasty is one of the important steps of this procedure and it is emphasized recently to prevent retear of the reconstructed ACL caused by impingement. However, until now, there is controversy about adequate amount of notchyplasty. Also, it is hard to examine the adequacy of notchyplasty even in the arthroscopic field, The purpose of this paper is to describe the surgical technique of notchyplasty, using the flexible reamer and preliminary result of its operation. In this study the results of ACL reconstruction with notchyplasty which is made by us were analized from January. 1994 to December, 1995. The results were as follows: 1. The notchyplasty with flexible reamer is the method that can be obtained adequate amount of removal, perfectly smooth notchyplasty. 2. The range of motion of the affected knee joint was normal ROM after post operation 6 month. 3. In the last follow up, 2 cases were positive in anterior drawer test 4 cases were positive in Lachmann's test and 1 knee was positive in Pivot shift test 4. Average Lysholm knee scoring scale was 70 points at preoperative and 92 points at the last follow up.

In many machines handling lightweight and flexible media, such as magnetic tape drives, xerographic copiers and sewing machines, the media must transit an open space. It is important to predict the static and dynamic behavior of the sheets with a high degree of reliability. The nonlinear theory of the dynamic elastica has often been used to a nonlinear dynamic deflection model. In this paper, the governing equation is derived and simulated by the finite difference method. The parametric cubic curve is applied for defining the guide shape. The dynamic contact conditions suggested by Klarbring is used to predict the direction of the flexible media according to the initial velocity and the friction coefficient. The analysis is also compared to the conventional model, showing that after contacting a $45^{\circ}$ wall, the directions of flexible media of two models are different.

A beautiful, flexible active-matrix electrophoretic display (AM-EPD) device is reported. The flexible AM-EPD device has a $40.0{\times}30.0\;mm^2$ display area, measures about 0.27 mm in thickness, weighs about 0.45 g and possesses only 20 external connections. The flexible AM-EPD device displays clear black-and-white images with 5 gray-scales on $160{\times}120$ pixels. The display is free from residual image problems, because we use an area-gray-scale method on $320{\times}240$ EPD elements, each of which is driven with binary signals. Each pixel consists of 4 EPD elements. In addition, since the response time of the electrophoretic material is as long as approximately 400 ms and since the display possesses a large number of EPD elements, we have developed a special driving method suitable for changing EPD images comfortably. A complete image is formed on the AM-EPD device, consisting of a reset frame and several, typically 6, image frames.

The numerical study about the vortex-induced vibration and vortex shedding in the wake has been presented. Prior to the numerical simulation of flexible riser systems concerning engineering conditions, efficiency validating of the proposed FSI solution method have been performed. The comparison between numerical simulation and published experimental data shows that the CFD method designed for FSI solution could give acceptable result for the VIV prediction of flexible riser/pipe system. As meaningful study on VIV and vortex shedding mode with the focus on flexible riser model systems, two kinds of typical simulation cases have been carried out. One was related to the simulation of vortex visualization in the wake for a riser model subject to forced oscillation, and another was related to the simulation of fluid-structure interaction between the pipes of coupled multi-assembled riser system. The result from forced oscillation simulation shows that the vortex-induced vibration with high response frequency but small instantaneous vibration amplitude contributes to vortex conformation as much as the forced oscillation with large normalized amplitude does, when the frequency of forced oscillation was relatively high. In the multi-assembled riser systems, it has been found that the external current velocity and the distance between two pipes are the critical factors to determine the vibration state and the steady vibration state emerging in quad-pipe system may be destroyed more easily than dual-pipe system.
The focus of this paper is on the numerical investigation of obliquely incident wav interactions with a system composed of fully submerged and floating dual buoy/vertical-flexible-membrane breakwaters placed in parallel with spacing between two systems. The fully submerged two systems allow surface and bottom gaps to enable wave transmission over and under the system. The problem is formulated based on the two-dimensional multi-domain hydro-elastic linear wave-body interaction theory. The hydrodynamic interaction of oblique incident waves with the combination of the rigid and flexible bodies was solved by the distribution of the simple sources (modified Bessel function of the second kind) that satisfy the Helmholz governing equation in fluid domains. A boundary element program for three fluid domains based on a discrete membrane dynamic model and simple source distribution method is developed. Using this developed computer program, the performance of various dual systems varying buoy radiuses and drafts, membrane lengths, gaps, spacing, mooring-lines stiffness, mooring types, water depth, and wave characteristics is thoroughly examined. It is found that the fully submerged and floating dual buoy/membrane breakwaters can, if it is properly tuned to the coming waves, have good performances in reflecting the obliquely incident waves over a wide range of wave frequency and headings.
Static and dynamic analyses of a very flexible and light riser, for upwelling the deep ocean water, is performed. In this numerical study, an implicit finite difference algorithm is employed for three-dimensional riser equations. Fluid non-linearity and bending stiffness are considered and solved, using the Newton-Raphson iteration. Maintaining the depth of end point of a flexible and light riser is very important for upwelling deep ocean water in a floating type development system. Weight is attached at the end point of the riser in order to maintain its intake depth. It is designed under the strong surface current and the configuration of the rise is predicted. In the dynamic analysis, the tension variation at the top point of the riser is presented. T e results of this study can contribute to the design of the development system in floating type for upwelling deep ocean water.
The mass balancing of rotors is an integral part of the study practice of the rotor dynamics. Any machine with rotating components is considered to be rotating machine. The part of a rotating machine that rotates in normal operation is generally reffered to as a rotor. A rotor is flexible if it deforms when the machine is operating at any speed up to its maximum design speed. Otherwise, the rotor is rigid. The general Purpose of the study of rotor dynamics is to increase understanding of rotor vibration phenomena and thus provide a means for controlling or eliminating these vitrations. As the efficiency of rotating machinery has been increased through reduced weight and increased speed, which implies increasement of rotor flexibility, the control of rotor vibration has become essential. Thus, the study and practice of rotor dynamaics has taken on an increasingly important role in recent years. Therefore many workers have studied about this and introduced a few balancing methods of flexible rotor, which can be classified mainly in following four sorts, 1. Polar plotting methed 2. Modal balancing method 3. Influence coefficient method 4. Unified balancing approach In this paper practical theories of rotor dynamics related to flexible rotor balancing have been reviewed and confirmed the calculation results of flexible balancing of typical rotor, as an example, respectively
