Study on Electrical Linear Generator Containing Heaving Buoy and Its Applications (부이 내장형 선형발전기 및 그 응용 연구)

  • This paper describes an electrical linear generator (IntELG) based on permanent magnets, containing heaving buoy, and its applications for the floating wave energy converters riding in parallel waves. The permanent magnets are integrated with the heaving buoy as a component and the integrated component is configured within the cylindrical IntELG to be filled with fluid. Thus, the IntELG can effectively be applied for the power-take-off of the floating wave energy converter riding in parallel waves. Typical applications are exampled with the Pelamis and Anaconda and they are investigated for the diversely redundant power source of nuclear power plant and the cooperation with submerged tunnel(s).

  • Large dynamic loads act on the rotor in rotary compressors. There are unbalance forces due to eccentric rotation parts and gas forces induced by the difference in pressure between compression and suction gases6 Rotor-journal bearing system is nonlinear since the stiffness and damping coefficients of the lubricating oil film are not constant in the bearings. In this paper, the program for predicting the behaviors of rotor-journal bearing system of rotary compressor is developed. Finite element modeling is used to analyze the flexible rotor. The numerical results are compared with experimental results. The location of balancer weight are suggested for reducing rotor whiring displacement.

  • The next generation electronics need to not only be smaller but also be more flexible. To meet such demands, electronic devices using two dimensional (2D) atomic crystals like graphene, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), molybdenum disulfate ($MoS_2$) and organic thin film have been studied intensely. In this talk, I will demonstrate the $MoS_2$ field effect transistor (FET) toward performance enhancement by insulating h-BN substrate.

  • The technologies of laser micromachining are changed toward more complex-micropatterning, from the micro circle-shaped hole drilling to the micro arbitrary-shaped hole drilling. In this paper, the fundamental experiments by using DPSS 3rd harmonic $Nd:YVO_4\;laser({\lambda}=355nm)$ were carried out in order to obtain the feasibility of flexible micropatterning by various fixed masks. Fixed masks and Galvano scanners were investigatde to make micro patterns. from these experimental results, micropatterns on PEN film were rapidly manufactured in large area.

  • Thin film solar cells have attracted much attention due to their high cell efficiency, comparatively low process cost, and applicability to flexible substrates. In particular, CIGS solar cells have been widely studied and produced because they demonstrated the highest cell efficiency. However, the deposition process of CIGS films generally includes the selenization process conducted at elevated temperature using toxic $H_2Se$ gas. To avoid this selenization process, CIGS thin films were, in this study, deposited by RF sputtering using single composite CIGS target. In addition, the effects of sputtering bias voltage and heat treatment on the microstructural and morphological changes in deposited CIGS films were investigated and discussed.

  • 산화물 반도체 기반 박막 트랜지스터가 국내에서 본격적으로 연구 개발 된 지 10년 만에 대면적 OLED TV에 적용되었다. 전기적인 신뢰성뿐만 아니라, 광학적 신뢰성도 검증되어, 앞으로 산업계에서 그 적용 확대가 기대되고 있는 상황이다. 그렇지만, 향후 큰 성장이 예상되는 고해상도 플렉시블 디스플레이에 적용 가능한 높은 수준의 전기적 특성뿐만 아니라, 저온공정도 만족시킬 수 있는 박막 트랜지스터 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 이러한 측면에서 LTPS, 유기물 박막 트랜지스터에 비해, 산화물 박막 트랜지스터는 250도 이하의 저온공정에서도 고이동도 및 고신뢰성을 확보할 수 있는 좋은 대안이 될 수 있을 것이다. 본 강연에서는 플렉시블 기판에 적용 가능한 산화물 박막 트랜지스터 기술 및 개발 동향에 대해 발표할 예정이다.

Study of Pixel Isolated PSCOF Mode

  • We have studied the Pixel Isolated Phase Separated Composite Organic Film (PI-PSCOF). The PI-PSCOF can be made by the anisotropic phase separation between Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals and Pre-polymer materials by irradiating the UV with optimizing its intensity and time. In the technology, the FLC molecules are isolated in pixels where FLCs are surrounded by the inter-pixel vertical polymer walls and the horizontal polymer films on the upper substrate. The good merits of this technology are fast response time, and good mechanical and thermal stability against external high pressure and temperature. We will compare the results obtained from FLC, PSCOF, and PI-PSCOF modes by using the electro-optic measurement and x-ray scattering, and mechanical method. We believe that the PI-PSCOF technology can be a best candidate for future Flexible Display Applications.

Characteristics of ITO Thin Films prepared on PC Substrate (PC 기판상에 제작된 ITO 박막의 특성)

  • The ITO thin films were prepared by facing targets sputtering (FTS) system on polycarbonate (PC) substrate. The ITO thin films were deposited with a film thickness of 100 nm at room temperature. As a function of sputtering conditions, electrical and optical properties of prepared ITO thin films were measure. The electrical and optical characteristics of the ITO thin films were evaluted by Hall Effect Measurement (EGK) and UV/VIS spectrometer (HP), respectively. From the results, the ITO thin films was deposited with a resistivity $8{\times}10^{4}\;{\Omega}-cm$ and transmittance over 80 %.

Development of Repair FPC Bonder (리페어 FPC 본더 개발)

  • This article contains the development of FPC bonder that used for repair or trial product. Nowadays, in FPO module process (including PDP) accept the thermo-compress bonding method when attach FPC(Flexible Printed Circuit Board), TCP(Tape Carrier Package) and COF(Chip on the FPC) by ACF(Anisotropic Conductive Film). This system consists of ACF attachment part, pre-bonding part, main bonding part, loading / unloading part. This composition is a stand-alone system, not an in-line system. Hereafter, this composition should be developing into in-line system in all area of FPD industry.

  • Recently, in VLCC, shafting system is stiffer due to large engine power whereas hull structure is more flexible due to scantling optimization, which can be suffered from alignment damage by incompatibility between shafting and hull, In this study, shafting system without stern tube forward bush was adapted for less sensitive system against external factors. Also, shaft alignment analysis was considered with hull deflection at various ship loading conditions and stern tube after bush of long journal bearing was evaluated by static squeezing pressure and dynamic oil film pressure with sloping control. Whirling vibration was also reviewed to avoid resonance with propeller blade order. So, reliable shafting design for VLCC could be achieved through optimized alignment analysis for the system without stern tube forward bush.
