Perfomance of Lattice Girder on Loading Point in Laboratory Test (실내평가기법에서 하중재하지점에 따른 레티스거더의 성능분석)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the loading capacity of lattice girder according to loading position. 3-point flexible strength tests were performed on three types of lattice girder, such as LG-$50{\times}20{\times}30$, LG-$70{\times}20{\times}30$, and LG-$95{\times}22{\times}32$, mainly used in Korea. Two types of loading position for each flexible strength test were used to analyze the behavior of load-deformation. In 3-point flexible strength test, the difference of the average of maximum flexible strength according to loading position had the range from 10% to 33%.

  • This study addresses the problem of flexible technology acquisition in a multi-product market when demands are uncertain. We confine the concept of flexibility to the ability of manufacturing system to produce a number of different types of products, called a product-mix flexibility type. And an analytical model in which the economies of scope are incorporated explicitly as a feature of flexible technology is presented to find the optimal investment decision to acquire flexible technology and optimal production planning. The characteristics of optimal investment strategy related to capacity and production planning are discussed.

The influence of glycerol doped PEDOT: PSS and Ag buffer layer on power conversion efficiency of semitransparent organic photovoltaic devices

  • By using optimum doping ratio (10 ~ 20 wt%) of glycerol, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic photovoltaic devices based on poly (3-hexylthiophene) and phenyl-$C_{61}$-butyric acid methyl ester was dramatically increased from 3.23% to 5.03%. Finally, semitransparent organic photovoltaic devices including glycerol doped poly (3,4-ethylenedioxy-thiophene):poly (styrene sulfonate) and thin Ag (< 1 nm) buffer layer typically have shown PCE > 3% with transmittance > 30% in visible ranges.

  • In recent years, flexible e-paper displays based on electrophorectic materials continue to attract enormous interest from technologists and are expected to be in the market soon. To realize a flexible e-paper, several key technologies for TFT backplane have been developed, while it still lacks good color reproduction and requires input function for use in its various applications. Thus, the technical issues for implementing color and touch functions in a flexible e-paper are discussed, and then our development status along with technology trend of it is described.

  • A flexible photoluminescent display device was proposed and fabrication technology with a low process temperature was investigated in order to improve its reliability. The proposed flexible photoluminescent display showed good characteristics in reliability and flexibility. The lifetime of the proposed flexible photoluminescent displays with organics components is estimated to be approximately more than 10,000 hours.

  • Solution-processed indium-gallium-zinc-oxide thin-film transistors were fabricated by sol-gel method. By a combinatorial study of InGaZnO multi-component system, optimum molar ratio of In, Ga, and Zn has been selected. By adjusting the In:Ga:Zn molar ratio, TFTs with field-effect mobility of 0.5 ~ 1.5 $cm^2$/V-s, threshold voltage of -5 ~ 5 V, and subthreshold slope of 1.5 ~ 2.5 V/decade were achieved.

  • The rotor drive system in rotor-craft carries out power transmission from powerplant to rotors and the drive shafts are fallen into misaligned condition by the vibration of engine and shafts and the deformation of supporting structures. The high performance flexible coupling accommodates these misalignments of drive shafts. In this study, we compare the performance of the metalic flexible coupling with the composite flexible coupling through analytic method to develop the high performance flexible coupling used in the rotor drive system of UAV tilt-rotor.

  • The component mode synthesis method allows the elastic deformation of each component in the flexible multibody system by a sum of modes and modal coordinates. This paper focuses on the selection of boundary conditions and deformation modes for redundantly constrained flexible components in mechanical system dynamics. The result of a flexible body dynamic analysis with only normal modes is used to identify proper boundary conditions of a static modes and a desired set of static modes which will be used in the final model. A simple four bar mechanism is used to explain the procedure and a space satellite with solar panels is analyzed using the proposed method.

  • The mechanism of power transmission from motor torque to stem thrust and the operation characteristic of each stroke position are analyzed using the diagnostic signal, and effects of differential pressure on the performance of motor operated flexible wedge gate valve are investigated. Test facility consists of 76 mm motor operated valve(flexible wedge type), pump and pipe system. Static and dynamic test are performed separately, and two differential pressure conditions are applied in the dynamic test. To evaluate the performance of valve, test signals for the torque, thrust, current, voltage and stroke length are acquired by using UDS which is diagnosis device for motor operated valve, and each diagnostic signal is analyzed and compared. The characteristic of valve performance factors such as stem factor, rate of loading, valve factor, are evaluated, and these factors are found to be severely influenced by the fluid differential pressure.

  • Maglev vehicles, which are levitated and propelled by electromagnets, often run on elevated flexible guideways comprised of steel, aluminum and concrete. Therefore. an analysis of the dynamic interaction between the Maglev vehicle and the flexible guideway is needed in the design of the critical speed, ride, controler design and weight reduction of the vehicle. This study introduces a dynamic interaction simulation technique that applies structural dynamics. Because the proposed method uses FEM, it is useful to calculate the deformation of the elevated flexible guideway, the dynamic stress, and the motion of the vehicle. By applying the proposed method to an urban transit Maglev vehicle, UTM01, the dynamic response is simulated and validated. From the result of the study, we concluded, that the dynamic interaction between the maglev vehicle and the flexible guideway is possible.
