가변 스트레치 성형공정을 활용한 건축외피 구조물의 비정형 곡면 제작 (Manufacture of Architectural Skin-structure with a Double Curved Surface Using Flexible Stretch Forming)

  • Flexible stretch forming is an appropriate process for manufacturing of components for aerospace, shipbuilding and architecture structures. Flexible stretch forming has several advantages including that it could be applied to form various shapes such as ones with double curved surfaces. In this study, a systematic numerical simulation was conducted for forming double curved surfaces using flexible stretch forming. The desired surface had a saddle type configuration. It had two radii one of 2500mm and the other of 2000mm along its length and width. In the simulation, the decrease of elastic recovery due to the stretching was confirmed. Experiments were also conducted to confirm the viability of the process. By comparing the simulation to the experiment results, the suitability of flexible stretch forming for double curved surfaces was verified. From the results, the maximum error from desired surface was confirmed at about 1.3mm at the edge of the surface. Hence, it is confirmed that flexible stretch forming has the capability and feasibility to manufacture curved surfaces for architectural skin-structures of buildings.

피지이론과 유전알고리츰의 합성에 의한 Flexible Manipulator 제어기 설계 (Design of a Controller for a Flexible Manipulator Using Fuzzy Theory and Genetic Algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 Flexible Manipulator의 제어를 위해 퍼지제어의 제약인 멤버쉽 함수, 퍼지규clr을 유전알고리즘으로 조정, 최적화 하는 새로운 제어기를 설계하였다. 사용된 유전알고리즘은 Steady State Genetic 알고리즘과 Adaptive 유전 알고리즘의 합성이다. 제안한 제어기는 Flexible Manipulator의 끝점 무게 0.8kmg, 최대속도 1m/s의 경우, 퍼지제어에 비해 오차가 90.8% 감소하고 신경회로망을 이용한 퍼지제어에 비하여는 31.8% 감소하였으며 진화전략과 퍼지제어합성에 의한 제어기보다는 오차가 31.3% 감소하는 통 제어성능과 그 유용성이 우수함을 확인하였다.

거주자 요구를 토대로 본 가변형 아파트의 서포트와 인필 시스템 (The Support and Infill System of the Flexible Plan of Multi-Family Housing Based on Inhabitants' Need)

  • The study suggests that to compensate for the variety of inhabitants, flexible housing plans are needed. Furthermore, it proposes the support and infill system for the flexible plan of multi-family housing based on the inhabitants need. The inhabitants' need for the flexible plan of multi-family housing was studied using a survey using models. The survey target was the 100 housewives living in a $126.6m^2$(sold as 45 Pyeong) Apartment in Busan. The characteristics of the respondents were first examined, then to figure out the attitude towards the need for the flexible plan of multi-family housing, the concept and preference for the plan, and the satisfaction level of the current apartment plan were analyzed. To find out the structure of the flexible plan of multi-family housing, the need for the structure, furniture, light, and finishing materials were studied. Lastly, to learn the durability of the construction material, the preferred moving period and the reasons were researched. On the basis of the findings, the support and infill system was suggested.

  • KSLV-I 킥모터 노즐 개발에 있어서 가장 중요한 개발품은 노즐 구동에 필요한 플렉시블 씰 개발이다. 특히 플렉시블 씰 제작 기술의 확보는 킥 모터 노즐 개발에 있어서 핵심 개발 사항 중에 하나였다. 킥모터 플렉시블 씰 제작에 사용된 방법은 금형에 순서대로 배열된 보강재 사이에 고무를 주입하는 인젝션 방식을 사용하였다. 플렉시블 씰 제작을 통해 금형 설계 기술, 고무 인젝션 방법, 성형 공정을 확립하였다. 제작된 플렉시블 씰은 X-Ray 검사를 통해 내부 접착 상태 및 보강재/고무 배열 상태를 확인하였다.

A finite element analysis for unbonded flexible risers under bending loads

  • As the exploitation of oil and gas resources advances into deeper waters and harsher environments, the design and analysis of the flexible risers has become the research focus in the offshore engineering filed. Due to the complexity of the components and the sliding between the adjacent layers, the bending response of the flexible risers is highly non-linear. This paper presents the finite element analysis of the flexible risers under bending loads. The detailed finite element model of the flexible riser is established in ABAQUS software. This finite element model incorporates all the fine details of the riser to accurately predict its nonlinear structural behavior. Based on the finite element model, the bending moment-curvature relationships of a flexible riser under various axisymmetric loads have been investigated. The results have been compared with the analytical ones obtained from the literature and good agreements have been found. Moreover, the stress of the tendon armors has been studied. The non-linear relationship between the armor tendons' stress and the bending loads has been obtained.

  • We prepared flexible transparent conducting electrodes by spray coating of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) networks on PET substrate and have demonstrated their use as transparent anodes for flexible organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). The flexible CNT electrode produced by spray coating method shows relatively low sheet resistance ($150{\sim}220{\Omega}/sq.$) and high transmittance of ~60% even though it was prepared at room temperature. In addition, CNT electrode/PET sample exhibits little resistance change during 2000 bending cycles, demonstrated good mechanical robustness. Using transparent CNT electrode, it is readily possible to achieve performances comparable to commercial ITO-based OLEDs. This indicates that flexible CNT electrode is alternative anode materials for conventional ITO anode in flexible OLEDs.

Effect of the Thermal Etching Temperature and SiO2/Al2O3 Ratio of Flexible Zeolite Fibers on the Adsorption/desorption Characteristics of Toluene

  • To develop flexible adsorbents for compact volatile organic compound (VOC) air purifiers, flexible as-spun zeolite fibers are prepared by an electrospinning method, and then zeolite particles are exposed as active sites for VOC (toluene) adsorption on the surface of the fibers by a thermal surface partial etching process. The breakthrough curves for the adsorption and temperature programmed desorption (TPD) curves of toluene over the flexible zeolite fibers is investigated as a function of the thermal etching temperature by gas chromatography (GC), and the adsorption/desorption characteristics improves with an increase in the thermal surface etching temperature. The effect of acidity on the flexible zeolite fibers for the removal of toluene is investigated as a function of the $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratios of zeolites. The acidity of the flexible zeolite fibers with different $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratios is measured by ammonia-temperature-programmed desorption ($NH_3-TPD$), and the adsorption/desorption characteristics are investigated by GC. The results of the toluene adsorption/desorption experiments confirm that a higher $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio of the flexible zeolite fibers creates a better toluene adsorption/desorption performance.

  • Flexible tactile sensors, which are primarily used as grippers in robots, are mainly used to handle highly elastic or highly flexible objects. That is, flexible grippers are used when an object cannot be sufficiently controlled by applying a specific output force or taking a specific grabbing action. This is because a flexible tactile sensor needs to measure the pressure applied directly to held objects while deforming according to the shape of the object to be handled. CNT-based sensors used to be made from a highly flexible polymer to give flexibility and it is known that the sensors are greatly affected by the contact resistance of the terminal that connects the sensor to an electrical circuit; therefore, this paper clarifies the contact resistance of MWCNTs-based flexible tactile sensors and terminals. The effects of main and plating materials for terminals are investigated and the combinations of main and plating materials that exhibit contact resistance are measured in a typical industrial environment.

Design of the flexible switching controller for small PWR core power control with the multi-model

  • Small PWR can be used for power generation and heating. Considering that small PWR has the characteristics of flexible operating conditions and complex operating environment, the controller designed based on single power level is difficult to achieve the ideal control of small PWR in the whole range of core power range. To solve this problem, a flexible switching controller based on fuzzy controller and LQG/LTR controller is designed. Firstly, a core fuzzy multi-model suitable for full power range is established. Then, T-S fuzzy rules are designed to realize the flexible switching between fuzzy controller and LQG/LTR controller. Finally, based on the core power feedback principle, the core flexible switching control system of small PWR is established and simulated. The results show that the flexible switching controller can effectively control the core power of small PWR and the control effect has the advantages of both fuzzy controller and LQG/LTR controller.

유연한 인적자원관리제도가 개인적 양면성에 미치는 영향: 경영진 신뢰의 조절효과 (The Effect of Flexible Human Resource Management on Individual Ambidexterity: The Moderating Effect of Trust in Management)

  • Purpose - This study aims to examine the relationship between flexible Human Resource Management (HRM) and individual ambidexterity and the moderating effect of trust in management. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected 971 survey data from employees in Korea. The Confimatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and the multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings - First, the flexible human resource management have a positive effect on individual ambidexterity. Second, trust in management positively moderate the relationship between flexible human resource management and individual ambidexterity. Research implications or Originality - First, this study is critical that it examines individual ambidexterity and antecedent factor, which have not been relatively researched in Korea. This study is meaningful in that it revealed that the individual ambidexterity can be increased through flexible human resource management. Second, individual ambidexterity may vary depending on the characteristics of the human resource management system. Third, it is important to find the boundary condition of trust in management. By finding conditions that enhance the effect of flexible human resource management on individual ambidexterity, it also provides practical implications applicable to companies.
