A new sheet of back light unit(BLU) to reduce the number of sheets and enhance the optical performances of direct back light unit(BLU) in a liquid crystal display is proposed and designed. In order to improve the straightness and spatial uniformity of brightness of the BLU, we design the new sheet with linear arrays of complicated bar prism by using the fusion of cylindrical lens and bar prism. Then, we investigate and analyze various optical performances of a BLU including the new sheet through an illumination optical system design program. From these results, we determine the optimum geometrical structure of the sheet. Under the optimum condition, the luminance efficiency and spatial uniformity of luminance of the BLU are 53.5% and 83.5% respectively. And the vertical and horizontal widths of the angular luminance distribution are $90^{\circ}$ and $112.5^{\circ}$ respectively. Finally we have fabricated a new BLU sheet according to this design shape by using an ordinary resins.
In this study transmembrane pressure (TMP) was measured with respect to permeate flux through the submerged flat sheet membrane for the emulsion and semi-synthetic cutting oil solutions. The effective area and nominal pore size of the used microfiltration membrane were $0.02m^2$ and $0.15{\mu}m$, respectively. The experiments were carried out simultaneously for run/stop (R/S) and sinusoidal flux continuous operation (SFCO) modes using two submerged membrane module in the reservoir. TMP for the case of SFCO was maintained under 60% of R/S, and the effect on TMP drop decreased as the permeate flux increased for emulsion cutting oil solution. Membrane fouling for the semisynthetic solution showing low turbidity was induced lower comparing to the emulsion solution. Also, the effect on TMP drop for SFCO decreased during long-term operation.

In this study, permeation experiments were carried out using the symmetric and asymmetric sinusoidal flux continuous operation (SFCO) modes for the submerged flat sheet membrane in the 0.5 wt% emulsion type cutting oil solution. The effective area and nominal pore size of the used microfiltration membrane were $0.02m^2$ and $0.15{\mu}m$, respectively. The emulsion cutting oil was rejected over 99% based on turbidity. Transmembrane pressure increased lower as the aeration rates increased. The symmetric SFCO mode was a little more effective than the symmetric SFCO mode in low permeate flux between 10 and $15L/m^2{\cdot}h$. However, the symmetric SFCO mode was shown very effectively in high permeate flux between 25 and $30L/m^2{\cdot}h$.
In this study transmembrane pressure (TMP) was measured with respect to operational time in order to estimate fouling of the submerged membrane in the membrane bioreactor(MBR). The microfiltration flat sheet module which has $0.02m^2$ of effective area and $0.15{\mu}m$ nominal pore size was submerged in the activated sludge solution of MLSS 5,000 mg/L. The permeate experiments were carried out simultaneously to compare TMP of the run/stop (R/S) with that of the sinusoidal flux continuous operation (SFCO). TMP for SFCO mode was up to 93% lower than that of R/S mode, and the effect of TMP drop reduced as permeate flux increased. Also, TMP of the SCFO mode was maintained below 40% of the limited operating TMP 55 kPa until the permeate operational time extended to longer than 5 times for the case as the coagulant $FeCl_3$ was dosed into the activated sludge solution with 500 mg/L concentration.
Even though MBR processes have many advantages such as high quality effluents, a small footprint and convenience for operation compared to conventional activated sludge processes, there are some shortcomings in terms of the cost and potential fouling incident that keeps MBR (Membrane bioreactor) processes from being widely applied. To reduce these problems, PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) flat sheet membranes that have excellent permeability and durability were tested instead of PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) membrane which is being used widely in water treatment. Low concentration of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was also added into the membrane modules in order to prevent the membrane fouling as well as to provide the alkalinity. With conditions mentioned above, a pilot-scale MBR system based on the MLE (Modified Ludzack Ettinger) process was operated at flux of 40 $L/m^{2}/hr$ and over 15,000 mg/L MLSS concentration for about 8 months. And coagulant(alum) was added into the membrane tank to remove phosphorus. Although the more coagulant is added the more effectively phosphorus is removed, that can lead to fouling for a long operation(Ronseca et al.,2009). By the way there is a research that fouling grow up after stopping injection of coagulant(Holbrook, 2004). Stable operation of MBR systems was achieved without major chemical cleaning and the effluent quality was found to be good enough to comply with the treated waste water quality regulations of the Korea.

To study the encapsulation method for heat dissipation of high brightness organic light emitting diode (OLED), red emitting OLED of ITO (150 nm) / 2-TNATA (50 nm) / NPB (30 nm) / $Alq_3$ : 1 vol.% Rubrene (30 nm) / $Alq_3$ (30 nm) / LiF (0.7 nm) / Al (200 nm) structure was fabricated, which on $Alq_3$ (150 nm) / LiF (150 nm) as buffer layer and Al as protective layer was deposited to protect the damage of OLED, and subsequently it was encapsulated using attaching film and metal sheet. The current density, luminance and power efficiency was improved according to thickness of Al protective layer. The emission spectrum and the Commission International de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinate did not have any effects on encapsulation process using attaching film and metal sheet The lifetime of encapsulated OLED using attaching film and metal sheet was 307 hours in 1,200 nm Al thickness, which was increased according to thickness of Al protective layer, and was improved 7% compared with 287 hours, lifetime of encapsulated OLED using attaching film and flat glass. As a result, it showed the improved current density, luminance, power efficiency and the long lifetime, because the encapsulation method using attaching film and metal sheet could radiate the heat on OLED effectively.
The present study aims to investigate the level difference of floor impact noises of composite floor structure using EVA resilient materials. In order to this, four different types of resilient materials were designed combining PET, PP sheet and EVA mount including Flat type, Deck type, Cavity type and Mount type. Totally 9 different samples were made for acoustic measurements which were carried out twice with bang-machine and impact ball as the heavy-weight floor impact noise sources. All the floor impact noise measurements were undertaken at the authentication institution. As a result, concerning Flat and Cavity types, it was found that 2 dB ~ 5 dB of heavy-weight floor impact noise was reduced supplementally when PET was added, while floor impact noise larger than 50 dB was acquired when single resilient material was used. Especially, most high performance was obtained for Mount type with 1st grade of light-weight floor impact noise and 2nd grade of heavy-weight floor impact noise. This is because of material property with low dense PET sound absorption materials which fill all around EVA mounts. Also, it was considered that this results are due to the sound impact absorption by the both EVA mounts and the air cavity between EVA mount and PP sheet. Also, it was found that at least 36 EVA mounts per 1m2 area of resilient panel make more noise reduction of heavy-weight floor impact noises.

The optimumultrasonic test conditions for the thin carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) sheet were determined for the immersed reflector plate method. The effects of the water distance, the surface conditions of the specimen and transducer characteristics were studied. For a reliable test the water distance between the transducer and the front surface of the specimen should be determined when the beam profile of the transducer appears in the bell-shape. The detectability of the defect was improved as the effective beam width of the ultrasonic transducer became narrow. The transducer should be properly chosen considering to the surface condition of the test material as well as the size and type of the defect to be detected. It was possible to detect the flat bottom hole whose diameter is as small as about 500 micrometer.
Shinning spot defects on galvanized steel sheets were studied by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope(SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) and Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy Original Position Statistic Distribution Analysis (LIBSOPA) in this study. The research shows that the coating thickness of shinning spot defects which caused by the substrate defect is much lower than normal area, and when skin passed, the shinning spot defect area can not touch with skin pass roll which result in the surface of shinning spot is flat while normal area is rough. The different coating morphologies have different effects on the reflection of light, which cause the shinning spot defects more brighter than normal area.

The focus of this study is on the enhancement of flatness for the shielded slot plate, one of main components of the MCFC stack. The shielded slot plate is to get curvature during manufacturing process since it is produced by forming operation from only one side of it. Therefore, a correction die is proposed to place just after the main die to apply unbending on the curved plate to get almost flat product. In the design for the correction die, four kinds of design factors are selected to study which factor is the most influencing one affecting the flatness of the plate. From the experimental results using Taguchi method, it has been revealed that the Young's modulus of urethane die is the most critical factor.
