  • Cotton and ramie fabrics were dyed with artemesia and gardenia dyeing solutions. The chroma values of the fabrics dyed with gardenia were higher than that of artemesia. The ramie fabrics dyed with gardenia showed higher chroma values than the cotton fabrics. The colors of fabrics were deeper in shade but their chroma values were improved no more by repetition of dyeing process in artemesia dyebath. The two ways of dyeing processes were carried out. In the first wan, each fabric was dyed in 5 different concentration(1∼5%) of gardenia dyebath to get the fabrics dyed in different shades. After then the gardenia dyed fabrics were dyed again in the artemesia dyebaths. In the second way, the 5 fabrics were dyed in different shades by repetition of dyeing process in artemesia dyebath. After then the artemesia dyed fabrics were dyed again with the gardenia dyebaths. When the artemesia dyeing process was added on the fabrics dyed in five shades with gardenia, the color differences between five samples were slight. But when gardenia dyeing process was added on the fabrics dyed in five shades with artemesia, the samples showed different hue of colors between yellow and green of Munsell color circle. Like almost of fabrics dyed with Plants materials, the colorfastness to light and laundering of the dyed samples were poor But the colorfastness to drycleaning was good.

  • The purpose of this study were: 1) to understand the meaning of color according to the culture 2) to develop color and color arrangements in the thoughts of the East and the West.. The meaning of color on the dyed clothing was investigated through the book written classified with yin, yang, five color elements and Christian color system. The results were as follows; 1. Red wedding dress used the meaning of prevent badness and American used to resist for England in the War of Independence. 2. White wedding dress meaned innocent, gladness to the ancient Greece, Rome and Gothic Christian in the West, and it meaned a dead daughter in Japan, East, 3. Blue clothes meaned lucky in the East and meaned sacredness and love in the West. 4. Yellow was the color of the Emperor in the East, and it meaned death, betray in the West. 5. Black meaned badness in the East, and it meaned sadness in the West.

  • As various colors are used indoors and such colors influence on the image of indoors, color selection and color combination are a very important issue in inferior design. The purpose of this study is to analyse characteristic of color usage in interior design elements such as the floor, the wall, the ceiling and furnitures. The result of analysis shows the frequently used Munsell code corresponding to the cmyk code. Based on this analysis, this paper classifies largely into two kinds of the color combination type which can be used leer efficient color selection with good harmony The first combination type is divided into five types and the second is classified into three types. This paper argues that combination design principle, as a strong design tool, for color should be further developed for good quality of color design.

  • The purpose of research was to find aerial algae and to investigate the change of color in each class of photosynthetic pigments in five stone cultural properties of Korea. It turned out to be a total of 29 taxa, including as 26 species, 1 variety and 2 unidentified species. Among them, Haplaosiphon fontinalis and Stigonema turfaceum were found to be newly recorded species of Korea. The average Chl-a concentration from the change of color in the stone cultural properties increased as its class; however, the class 5 showed lower values than the class 4, which was shown in previous studies. From the studies of algal distribution, chlorophytes appeared earlier than cyanophytes in stone cultural properties of algal infestation. Also, 50% or more of the five stone cultural properties already appeared to have bio-pollution.

  • The Korean nudibranch faunal study has been conducted since 2011 and five species including Dermatobranchus otome Baba, 1992, Mexichromis festiva (Angas, 1864), Noumea nivalis Baba, 1937, Hoplodoris armata (Baba, 1993), and Okenia hiroi (Baba, 1938) were newly reported with re-descriptions and figures. Also, Noumea purpurea Baba, 1949 was re-described with illustrations because previous records for this species were given without a description. Two congeneric species in the genus Noumea could be distinguished by ground color, dorsal markings, color of the mantle edge and gills, and mantle and dorsal marking. In addition, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences of five species were provided for further molecular identification study. Consequently, a total of 43 species have been reported for the Korean nudibranch fauna.

  • This thesis is a study of Kas ya, robes of buddhist monk, which is having peculiarity among human clothes. I kept my attention mainly on the symbolism of the color of Kas ya. To elucidate this, I chose the principle of T -chi and Yin-yang and Wu-shing as a frame-work of interpretation. In the first place, the original meaning of Kas ya mean a name of peculiar color. The concrete names of the color are color of persimmons juice, brown, yellow tinged with red, radish brown, non-primary color etc. The main motive to dye three robes of buddhist monk from white or primary color to the color of Kas ya was to differentiate buddhist monks from heathen or laymen. Therefore, as luxurious and primary colored cloths was donated to the buddhist monks, they are necessary to discolor them. Accordingly. they established 'non-primary color' as well-mate one for a ascetic. The non-primary color is called discolored color' as a result of discoloring primary colors. The discolored color is a synonym of Kas ya and the process of discoloring is necessary for making robes of buddhist monk. Secondly, discoloring means to mash five primary color. That is say, the process of discoloring means to return five primary colors back to 'profoundity·abstruseness·obscurity, namely darkness' as the source of them. Darkness as a condition amalgamated and not appeared all materials is the source and at the same time the terminus of all colors. Therefore, color of Kas ya symbolizes 'profound color' as the ultimate meaning of discoloring. Thirdly, discoloring garments of buddhist monk symbolize to destroy evil passions and haughtiness arising in ascetic's mind as well as means don't attach to the shaped materials'. Fourthly, discoloring means to return 'color'. namely 'all kinds of shaped material' to the inherent nature. Process of discoloring means to reture to the empty. nya. nya essentially do not make any colors, but over and over again come into being and become extinct as becoming colors. R pa, by one time Yin and the other time Yang'. R pa, color is a metaplasia of nya and nya is discoloring one of all colors. Then, discoloring means R pa is nya, R pa is nya at the same time and Because this is another expression of Dharma the original meaning of Kas ya symbolize true robes. Consequently, Kas ya means truth and beyond time and space do not be changed and conserve the color of the first till now.

  • The inorganic powder EL lamp was made by screen printing technique with a phosphor ink and a dielectric ink. Value of color coordinates X and Y increased under the condition of supplying driving power to the inorganic powder EL lamp and changing voltage with constant frequency. When frequency was changed under the constant voltage, value of color coordinates X and Y were decreased with increasing frequency. However, level of change of color coordinates X was different from color coordinates Y. When voltage was increased under constant frequency, changing degree of color coordinates X and Y shows similarity. But under the constant voltage with changing frequency, color coordinates X and Y were differently changed that degree of change of color coordinates Y showed five times more than that of color coordinates X. As increasing thickness of phosphor ink and dielectric ink, level of voltage and frequency, color coordinates X and Y were slightly changed. According to the thickness of phosphor ink and dielectric ink, and level of voltage and frequency, color coordinate of color light was changed. Frequency was most important element influencing on the change of color coordinate.
