물류표준화의 경제적 효과 분석 (The Economic Effects of Logistics Standardization)

  • In this study, we investigate how logistics standardization affects on the cost of the firm. For this study, we survey the firms' logistics standardization. The analysis of the effects of logistics standardization in the firm level finds that the firm may reduce its cost by 11.8$\%$ with its logistics standardization and decrease the logistics cost in the total Korean firm level by 5 trillion Won. This study also finds that the logistics standardization can reduce the total fright costs by 25 trillion Won.

  • 수익을 창출하거나 비용을 절감하여 이익극대화를 달성하는 것은 기업의 목표이다. 그러나 기업들 스스로의 노력으로 달성 가능한 것은 수익의 창출보다는 비용절감을 어떻게 하느냐이다. 이러한 경제적 환경 하에서 물류비의 절감은 비용절감의 가장 좋은 방법 중 하나이다. 물류비는 기업이 존속하는 한 계속 발생되며, 고객요구의 다양화에 의한 다품종 소량생산에 따라 물류 비중이 커지게 하고 있어 경쟁력을 약화시키고 나아가 기업존속도 위협하고 있다. 이에 CVP (Cost - Volume Profit)(Cost-Volume Profit) 분석기법의 장점을 활용하여 기업실무에 적용 가능한 물류비 관리시스템을 고려하고자 한다. 즉, 물류비를 분석 즉, 물류비 항목을 분석하고 고정비와 변동비의 원가 형태로 분리하고, CVP 분석에 의하여 물류비도표를 작성하고, 기존 물류비선과 신규 물류비 선을 비교 분석한다. 추가적으로, 물류활동별 물류수익도 고려 가능하면 함께 분석한다. 따라서 정확한 물류비를 산정하지 못하여도 물류비 형태분석만으로 자사에 적합한 물류전략을 계획할 수 있도록 유용한 정보를 제공하여 물류경쟁력을 증가시킬 것이다.

Does Multinationality Matter the Firm Performance?

  • Purpose - The relationship between multinationality and performance has become a hot topic in academic circles and is very important for multinational firms, especially for Chinese multinational firms, who need more experience to enter the international market. Given this background, this paper attempts to figure out the importance of multinationality to China's firm performance and to explore whether the Four-stage Theory can also be applied to China's firms. Research design, data, and methodology - We employ the panel data of 435 multinational firms from 2008 to 2017 chosen from China's A-shares to conduct an empirical analysis by using a fixed-effects model. In the paper, the performance is represented by ROA (return on assets), treated as a dependent variable, and multinationality is represented by FSTS (foreign sales/total sales), treated as an independent variable. Results - We find that the performance first decreases then rises, then falls down, and rises again in the end. Hence there is a W-shaped relationship between the multinationality of the Chinese manufacturing industries and firm performance, proving that the four-stage theory is also applicable to Chinese multinational firms. Conclusions - These empirical results can provide some advice for policymakers to improve the firm performance such as reducing the logistics cost of multinationality.

기업특성에 따른 물류비 구성요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Enterprise Characteristics and Component Factors of Logistics Cost)

  • 물류비에 관한 연구는 물류비를 구성하고 있는 요소들의 복잡성만큼 물류비를 산출하고, 특성을 분석하는 것에 많은 노력이 요구된다. 이러한 이유로 물류비 산출은 정부차원의 조사에서 많이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 물류비의 산출기준이 명확하지 않고 또한 물류비 항목별 비율을 조사하는데도 많은 시간과 비용이 소요되는 게 사실이다. SCM 주체의 확대에 따라 물류비를 결정하는 요인들 또한 다양해 졌으며, 기업환경의 변화로 인해 물류비 영향요인들의 변화가 있어왔다. 따라서 물류비에 대한 연구는 물류비를 구성하고 있는 요소들의 세분화와 이들의 특성을 구분하여 접근해야 한다. 물류비의 구성요소는 그 기업이 처해있는 상황이나 여건에 의해 이를 구성하는 요소들이 달라질 수 있거나 요소들의 특성이 구분되기 때문이다. 이러한 특성의 분석과 원인에 대한 분석 없이 무조건적으로 수송비나 보관비와 같은 요소절약 전략은 기업의 특성에 맞지 않는 대안이 될 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 물류비 구성요소별 특성 분석을 바탕으로 하여 물류비 산정과 물류비 절감 노력에 기초적으로 가정하고 고려해야 하는 부분들에 대한 연구에 목적을 둔다.

  • This paper analyses the effects of the increase of logistics outsourcing on the economy which are largely classified into three parts. The firm level and industry level are two among them which will be summarized below. The another is consumers level. On the fm level, the logistics outsourcing of a manufacturing firm not only helps to increase the efficiency of itself and but also confront the competitive environments by weakening the entry barriers, i.e., the emergence of contestable market. The reasons why the efficiency of the firm enhances are also largely divided into two parts. One is due to the reduction of inventory cost by replacing it by the information cost resulting from internet use. The other is owing to reducing the life cycle of production process by the emergence of virtual enterprises which are located in one point in De process of supply chain management. The weakening of entry barriers is directly affected by the drastic increase of internet users in twofold reasons: one is based on the restricted competitive characteristics due to the long-term transaction relationship between logistics providers and the companies who offer logistics services and the other, due to the weakening of the restriction of space and time. The effect of industry level is due to the transition of traditional to virtual vertical integration system The firms corresponding to a connection point in the process of supply chain management would try to realize both the scale of economy and the scope of economy for strengthening the competitiveness. We indicated above the emergence of contestable market however, it is a short-term phenomenon and result in the oligopoly market due to the entry barriers in the long-run sense.

국제물류에서 해운물류기업의 공급사슬성과 결정요인 (A Determinant Factors on Supply Chain Performance of Shipping and Logistics Firm in International Logistics)

  • Supply chain is viewed as a number of organizations(at least three) working cooperatively with at least some shared objectives. The concept of supply chain management represents the most advanced state in the evolutionary development of purchasing, procurement and other supply chain activities. This study aims to analyze and develop a measurement instrument for supply chain performance in international logistics. A measurement instrument for supply chain performance in international logistics are developed by Lai et al(2002). Supply chain reliability, customer service and cost are constructed reflecting service effectiveness and operations efficiency between shipper, forwarder and liner. The results of this study are as follow. We firstly tested the measurement properties of the sub-dimension of the supply chain performance construct using reliability test and confirmatory factor analysis follow by exploratory factor analysis. For each of the factor, reliability and validity are achieved because of the significant loading of the measurement items on their latent factors. Further research perform the analysis of variance by multi respondents within each firm and across partner firms in the supply chain. The result of analysis present the difference with shipper, forwarder and liner in statistics.

건설 산업용 판유리 운반을 위한 랙 설계 (Designing Racks for Transporting Flat Glass Products in a Construction Industry)

  • A glass product manufacturing company transports a large number of flat glass products from a manufacturing firm to a building construction site. The products are transported using specially designed racks, which assure fewer glass breakages during the deliveries. This study determines the sizes of the racks which minimize the total logistics cost including costs for rack purchasing, handling, transportation, and inventory costs. The determination of the rack size should consider tradeoff relationships between the amount of glasses piled in a rack and the number of racks loaded on a truck, and affects the required number of racks and the truck operational cost. A truck loading algorithm is proposed to maximize a high truck utilization, and an enumeration method is proposed to determine the optimal combination of rack sizes considering the total logistics cost. The numerical example is solved by using a real data.

Drivers of Corporate Sustainable Performance across the Flight Catering Supply Chain

  • Purpose: The purpose of the current study is to highlight the drivers of corporate environmentally and socially sustainable performance among different players including airlines, caterers, suppliers and logistics companies in the flight catering supply chain. Research design, data and methodology: Based on a qualitative research approach this study employed in-depth semi-structured interviews exploring the drivers of corporate sustainable performance with management from major in-flight catering stakeholders (n=23) from the perspective of constructivism. Using the snowball sampling approach, interviewees were carefully chosen to represent a diverse range of supply chain contexts (airlines, catering, non-food suppliers, and logistics companies). Results: By focusing on the complex context of multiple supply chain partners, the study identified a range of complex relationships between the drivers of sustainable performance in the supply chain: firm-led drivers, factors influencing firm-led drivers, partial influencers, and additional factor, cost. Conclusions: This study emphasizes that some drivers do not play an absolute role and has highlighted that there is a need for companies to change the attitude, that is to pay more than 'lip service' to improving sustainable performance. This study develops a theoretical framework of the drivers of corporate sustainable performance, along with its practical industry implications.

물류에서 웹 활용여부가 물류성과에 미치는 효과분석 : 국내 중견 수출기업을 중심으로 (The Effects of Web-based Logistics on Its Performances for Medium Sized Exporting Firms in Korea)

  • 본 논문은 국내 중견 수출기업의 물류부문을 대상으로 웹 활용 결정요인이 무엇인지를 규명하고 나아가 웹 활용여부와 물류 성과간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하는데 기본적인 목적이 있다. 또한 웹 물류 도입시 고려되었던 요인들과 웹 활용 여부간의 상호작용이 물류성과에 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 연구하였다. 실증 결과를 보면 최고경영충의 혁신성, 수출지역, 수출비중이 웹 활용의 주요 결정요인으로 나타났으며 웹을 활용한 경우가 웹을 활용하지 않은 경우보다 물류성과가 더 크게 나타났다. 또한 물류에 대한 최고경영층의 혁신성, 기업규모, 정보활용도의 각각과 웹 활용 여부와의 상호작용이 물류성과에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 물류에서 웹을 활용하여 비용절감이나 고객만족 등의 물류성과를 높이기 위해서는 최고경영층의 혁신성이 뒷받침 되고 기업규모, 그리고 정보활용도가 일정수준에 도달하여야 할 것이다.

기업 물류망 최적 설계 및 운영을 위한 알고리즘 설계 및 소프트웨어 구현 사례 (A case study on algorithm development and software materialization for logistics optimization)

  • It has been recognized as an important issue to design optimally a firm's logistics network for minimizing logistics cost and maximizing customer service. It is, however, not easy to get an optimal solution by analyzing trade-off of cost factors, dynamic and interdependent characteristics in the logistics network decision making. Although there has been some developments in a system which helps decision making for logistics analysis, it is true that there is no system for enterprise-wise's on-site support and methodical logistics decision. Specially, E-biz process along with information technology has been made dramatic advance in a various industries, there has been much need for practical education closely resembles on-site work. The software developed by this study materializes efficient algorithm suggested by recent studies in key topics of logistics such as location and allocation problem, traveling salesman problem, and vehicle routing problem and transportation and distribution problem. It also supports executing a variety of experimental design and analysis in a way of the most user friendly based on Java. In the near future, we expect that it can be extended to integrated supply chain solution by adding decision making in production in addition to a decision in logistics.
