  • Songguk-ri site gained academic recognition by the excavation of stone coffin tomb with a bronze dagger in 1974. And it is confirmed that this site is epoch-making in Korean bronze age through the following excavation started in 1975. But the excavation reports published until now do not have even overall view of this site, thus it is difficult to get the whole picture of this site. Thus, in this paper the author reexamined all reports on this site and by making the map of overall view and distribution of archaeological features as a basic research. Moreover, I analyzed also artifacts from this site, and compared with the recent papers written by other researchers about the chronology and character. Songguk-ri site has livelihood domain which consists of dwelling pits, attached features, storage pits, pot-firing features, wood fence, abatises, buildings above ground, as well as cemetery which consists of stone-coffins, jar-coffins, pit tombs. Trace of making large terrace was also excavated. These features seem to belong to the same archaeological stage, dated about B.C.850-550, according to C14 dating. On the other hand, the intensification of wet-rice cultivation made this group more productive. Based on this financial strength, some influential group emerged they constructed defensive settlement to protect their products safely. Besides it seems that there were frequent occurrence of conflicts. However, we can know that they kept their stable life, through the expansion of living space. Consequently, Songguk-ri site played a role of the summit among some settlement in this area.

  • TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) is a channel access scheme for shared medium networks. The shared frequency is divided into multiple time slots, some of which are assigned to a user for communication. Techniques for TDMA can be categorized into two classes: synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronization is not suitable for small scale networks because it is complicated and requires additional equipments. In contrast, in DESYNC, a biologically-inspired algorithm, the synchronization can be easily achieved without a global clock or other infrastructure overhead. However, DESYNC spends a great deal of time to complete synchronization and does not guarantee the maximum time to synch completion. In this paper, we propose a lightweight synchronization scheme, C-DESYNC, which counts the number of participating nodes with GP (Global Packet) signal including the information about the starting time of a period. The proposed algorithm is mush simpler than the existing synchronization TDMA techniques in terms of cost-effective method and guarantees the maximum time to synch completion. Our simulation results show that C-DESYNC guarantees the completion of the synchronization process within only 3 periods regardless of the number of nodes.

  • An effective method for produce munitions effectiveness data is to calculate weapon effectiveness indices in the US military's Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manuals (JMEM) and take advantage of the damage evaluation model (GFSM) and weapon Effectiveness Evaluation Model (Matrix Evaluator). However, a study about the Range Safety that can be applied in the live firing exercises is very insufficient in the case of ROK military. The Range Safety program is an element of the US Army Safety Program, and is the program responsible for developing policies and guidance to ensure the safe operation of live-fire ranges. The methodology of Weapon Danger Zone (WDZ) program is based on a combination of weapon modeling/simulation data and actual impact data. Also, each WDZ incorporates a probability distribution function which provides the information necessary to perform a quantitative risk assessment to evaluate the relative risk of an identified profile. A study of method to establish for K-Range Safety data is to develop manuals (pamphlet) will be a standard to ensure the effective and safe fire training at the ROK military education and training and environmental conditions. For example, WDZs are generated with the WDZ tool as part of the RMTK (Range Managers Tool Kit) package. The WDZ tool is a Geographic Information System-based application that is available to operational planners and range safety manager of Army and Marine Corps in both desktop and web-based versions. K-Range Safety Program based on US data is reflected in the Korean terrain by operating environments and training doctrine etc, and the range safety data are made. Thus, verification process on modified variables data is required. K-Range Safety rather than being produced by a single program, is an package safety activities and measures through weapon danger zone tool, SRP (The Sustainable Range Program), manuals, doctrine, terrain, climate, military defence M&S, weapon system development/operational test evaluation and analysis to continuously improving range safety zone. Distribution of this K-range safety pamphlet is available to Army users in electronic media only and is intended for the standing army and army reserve. Also publication and distribution to authorized users for marine corps commands are indicated in the table of allowances for publications. Therefore, this study proposes an efficient K-Range Safety Manual producing to calculate the danger zones that can be applied to the ROK military's live fire training by introducing of US Army weapons danger zone program and Range Safety Manual

  • Type I, II, III are regarded as "true" joint receptors, type IV is considered a class of pain receptor. Type I, II and III mechanoreceptors, via static and dynamic input, signal joint position, intraarticular pressure changes, and the direction, amplitude, and velocity of joint movements. Type I mechanoreceptor subserve both static and dynamic physiologic functions. Type I are found primarily in the stratum fibrosum of the joint capsule and ligaments. Type I receptors have a low threshold for activation and are allow to adapt to changes altering their firing frequency. Type II receptors have a low threshold for activation. These dynamic receptors respond to joint movement. Type II receptors are thus termed rapidly adapting. Type II joint receptors are located at the junction of the synovial membrane and fibrosum of the joint capsule and intraarticular and extraarticular fat pads. Type III receptors have been found in collateral ligaments of the joints of the extremities. Morphologically similar to Golgi tendon organ. These dynamic receptors have a high threshold to stimulation and are slowly adating. Type IV receptors possess free nerve ending that have been found in joint capsule and fat pads. They are not normally active, but respond to extreme mechanical deformation of the joint as well as to direct chemical or mechanical irritation. Small amplitude oscillatory and distraction movements(joint mobilization) techniques are used to stimulate the mechanoreceptors that may inhibit the transmission of nociceptors stimuli at the spinal cord or brain stem levels.

  • Rare-earth niobates, ag (Ln = Y, La, Gd) are well-known self-activated phosphors due to charge transfer in $NbO^{3-}_4$ showing a broad and strong emission band in the spectral region around 410 nm. In order to find new blue and red phosphors for FED, $LaNbO_4$ : X (X = Bi, Eu) phosphors are prepared through solid-state reactions at high temperature. The optimum reaction condition for these phosphors to give maximum emission intensity is obtained when it is first fired at $1250^{\circ}C$ for 2 h followed by second firing at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. Under irradiation at 254 nm, $1mol\%\;Bi^{3+}$ doped $LaNbO_4$ phosphor shows strong blue emission band with a range of $420\~450nm$. Also $10mol\%\;Eu^{3+}$ doped $LaNbO_4$ phosphor shows the maximum emission intensity at about 610 nm. Emission peaks at $415\~460nm$, $530\~560nm$and $570\~620nm$are observed in phosphors below $10mol\%\;Eu^{3+}$ doped $LaNbO_4$. Similar results are obtained in cathodoluminescent property of these phosphors.

  • Ceramic pigments, which show good thermal and chemical stabilities, have been applied for various industry with development of digital printing technology. Ceramic inkjet printing has advantages of high efficiency of ink usage and eco-friendly process. Thus, the interest of the ceramic pigments with various function and color including CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) digital primary color is increasing. Here, we investigated the thermal and chemical stabilities of white ceramic pigment for digital inkjet printing process. The microstructure and crystal structure of MgO, $Al_2O_3$, $MgAl_2O_4$, $CeO_2$ were analyzed, and the stability with glaze were evaluated. In order to evaluate the applicability for digital inkjet printing, the chemical stability of white ceramic pigments at high temperature was investigated by characterization of the mixed color properties with CMYK ceramic pigments after firing process.

  • M $g_{1-x}$ Z $n_{x}$O thin films with various composition x of ZnO were fabricated by a RF magnetron sputtering method, which is expected to improve the electro-optical properties of the conventional MgO protective layer for AC-PDP. Test panels with the $Mg_{1-x}$Z $n_{x}$O protective layer have been fabricated in order to investigate the effects of ZnO doping on the electrical characteristics of devices such as the discharge voltages and the memory gain. Experimental results revealed that test panels with the $Mg_{1-x}$Z $n_{x}$O(x=0.5at%) protective layer show lower firing and sustain voltages than those seen in panels with MgO protective layer by 20V. resulting in an increasement of the memory coefficient. In addition, it was found that test panels with the $Mg_{1-x}$Z $n_{x}$O protective layer show higher discharge intensity, i. e., higher plasma density, compared with panels with MgO protective layer.ve layer.layer.

  • Emission of heavy metals as hazardous air pollutants has been focused with tightening regulatory limits due to their hazardousness. Measurements and characteristic investigations of heavy metals emitted from a commercial power plant burning anthracite coal have been carried out. The plant consists of a circulating fluidized bed combustor, a cyclone, a boiler and an electrostatic precipitator(ESP) in series. Dust and gaseous samples were collected to measure main heavy metals including gaseous mercury before ESP and at stack. Dust emissions as total particulate matter (TPM), PM-10 and PM-2.5 at inlet of ESP were very high with 23,274, 9,555 and $7,790mg/Sm^3$, respectively, as expected, which is much higher than those from pulverized coal power plants. However TPM at stack was less than $0.16mg/Sm^3$, due to high dust removal efficiency by ESP. Similarly heavy metals emission showed high collection efficiency across ESP. From particle size distribution and metal enrichment in sizes, several metal concentrations could be correlated with particle size showing more enrichment in smaller particles. Mercury unlike other solid metals behaved differently by emitting as gaseous state due to high volatility. Removal of mercury was quite less than other metals due to it's volatility, which was 68% only. Across ESP, speciation change of mercury from elemental to oxidized was clearly shown so that elemental mercury was half of total mercury at stack unlike other coal power plants which equipped wet a scrubber.

  • $Ba_2SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ ($B_2S:Eu^{2+}$) powders were prepared by firing the dry gel obtained by the sol-gel and the hybrid process (sol-gel and combustion), respectively, and their structure and luminescence were investigated. Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) was used as a Si source. The phase transition was observed with the TEOS content. With 1.2M TEOS, the powders prepared by the sol-gel process without prior calcination were composed of the $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ single phase, whereas those by the sol-gel and the hybrid process with prior calcination consisted of the dominant $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ and minor $BaSiO_3:Eu^{2+}$ ($BS:Eu^{2+}$) phases and their emission intensities were approximately two times higher than those without prior calcination. The hybrid process could reduce the process time innovatively compared to the sol-gel process, even though the former was a little inferior to the latter in the emission intensity of $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$. With 1.1M TEOS, the $B_2S:Eu^{2+}$ single phase was obtained by the hybrid process, and its green emission was observed at 505 nm originated from the $4f^65d^1{\rightarrow}4f^7$ transition of $Eu^{2+}$ ions.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the properties of LSGM electrolyte and LSM cathode. The unit cell based on the optimum conditions and processing for high performance was fabricated and measured. The single phase of $LaGaO_3$ was obtained on sintering at $1500^{\circ}$ for 6h with composition of $(La_{0.85}Sr_{0.15})(Ga_{0.8}Mg_{0.2})O_{3-\delta}와 (La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2})(Ga_{0.8}Mg_{0.2})O_{3-\delta}$ and $(La_{0.85}Sr_{0.15})(Ga_{0.8}Mg_{0.2})O_{3-\delta}$. The grain size of the sintered body was about $10∼30{\mu}m$ and electrical conductivity was 0.13 S/cm measured at $800^{\circ}$. The single phase of $LaMnO_3$ structure in $(La1-xSrx)MnO_3$ system was obtained at x=0∼0.2 and the particle size of the synthesized powder was about 40 nm. The unit cell was prepared by firing at $1200^{\circ}$ for 1h with $(La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1})MnO_3$ cathode and 0.9NiO-0.1YSZ anode screen-printed on surfaces of $(La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2})(Ga_{0.8}Mg_{0.2})O_{3-\delta}$ electrolyte. The grain size of the electrode was close to $1{\mu}m$ and the electrode had porous structure. The maximum power density of unit cell showed $0.3W/cm^2$ at $800^{\circ}$.
