Analysis of the Evacuation Safety with the Structure and Opening/Closing of Exits in a Fire at a Highway Service Area (고속도로 휴게소 화재 시 출입문의 구조와 개폐에 따른 피난안전성 분석)

  • This study analyzed the safety of evacuation according to the number of exits and the direction of evacuation routes with evacuation simulations of the Pathfinder in case of a fire at a highway service area. It was also analyzed of the difference in RSET by comparing the single or double types of the exit of a facility. The results were as follows. When only one direction exit was opened, all of the RSET were exceeded. When two or more different directions were opened according to the general principle of evacuation, all results met the RSET. The simulations showed that two or more different directions were more shortened in RSET than the one same direction. The result of the types of doors showed that the single type door was shortened in RSET rather than the double type doors. For the evacuation safety in a fire at the highway service areas, firstly, it is necessary to secure two or more exits in a fire at all times. Secondly, the exits should not be same directions. Finally, it is suggested that the exit should be installed with a single type of door.

An Optimal Missile Allocation Problem for Maximizing Kill Probability (격추확률 최대화를 위한 미사일 최적배치 문제)

  • In this paper, we proposed new solution procedure of the air defense missile allocation problem. In order to find the optimal location of missile, we formulated a simple mathematical model maximizing the kill probability of enemy air threat including aircraft and missile. To find the Kill probability, we developed a new procedure using actual experimental data in the mathematical model. Actual experimental data mean real characteristic factor, which was acquired when the missile had been developed through missile fire experiment. The result of this study can offer practical solution for missile allocation and the methodology in this study can be used to the decision making for the optimal military facility allocation.

  • 우리나라 송전선로의 위치는 대부분 산악지형에 포설되어 있어 산불 발생으로 인한 피해에 취약한 구조이다. 주로 산불에 의한 화염, 열, 연무 등 복합적인 환경 요인이 송전선로에 영향을 미치게 되며, 이로 인해 송전 선로를 구성하는 전선 및 애자를 포함한 금구류 등이 본래의 기능을 상실하게 되어 전력 공급에 문제가 발생하게 된다. 또한 산불 진화에 사용하는 물과 방재용 약재에 의해 발생하는 부가적인 송전 선로의 특성 변화 역시 잠재적인 사고 발생 요인으로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 산불 발생시 송전선로에 미치는 영향 및 특성 연구를 위해 산불의 특성을 살펴보고 특성을 모의하여 시험 할 수 있는 산불 모의 실증 시험 설비를 구축에 대해 설명한다.

  • To provide pleasant building environment and the ease of maintenance and facility management, many new office buildings are being built as intelligent buildings. Building control systems which are employed in intelligent buildings require advanced types of controllers and varieties of control schemes. Designing and installation of these types of advanced building control systems take a lot of effort and also they are costly. In order to design these systems, it is necessary for the designers to have means to analyze and estimate the performance of control systems. The simulator which is presented in this paper is composed of three parts, HVAC simulation module, elevator simulation module, and evacuation modeling module for the outbreak of fire or similar disasters. In this paper, the functions and modelling method for each module are explained and simulation results are presented.

Characterization of coupling optical modulator to the applied frequency (인가주파수에 따른 결합형 광변조기 특성변화)

  • Coupling optical modulator which on the $LiTaO_3$ substrate is fabricated by using proton exchange method and self-aligned method. Proton exchange of proton diffusion method was applied to pattern a waveguide on $LiTaO_3$ substrate. The annealing at >$400^{\circ}C$ was carded out to control waveguide width and depth. The depths of the two annealed optical waveguides, which were measured by using .alpha.-step, were 1.435 K.angs. and 1.380 K.angs. Using .alpha.-step facility, we examined that the width of waveguides is increased from 5.mu.m to 6.45 .mu.m and 6.3.mu.m due to the annealing effects. The process of proton exchange was done at 150.deg. C for 120 min, >$200^{\circ}C$ for 60 min and annealing process was done at >$400^{\circ}C$ for 90 min, >$400^{\circ}C$ for 60 min. The high speed coupling optical modulator has very good figures of merits; the measured high frequency power were achieved.

  • 본 연구에서는 화재시 재실자의 안전한 피난을 유도하는 피난유도시설의 설치기준과 지하철역사, 대형편의점(마트), 종합병원 등 의료시설, 학교 등 교육시설과 같은 불특정 다수의 사람이 이용하는 건축물에 설치된 피난 유도등의 현장적용사례와 유지관리 실태를 조사하였다. 이러한 건축물에서 재실자의 피난에 영향을 미치는 요소, 예상되는 인명 안전 등에 대하여 분석하여 문제점을 도출하였다. 본 연구결과는 기존의 소방시스템의 문제점으로 지적되고 있는 화재 발생 위치와 확산 경로에 관계없이 획일적으로 피난 방향을 표시하고 있는 시스템의 개선을 위한 최적의 피난 경로를 표시하는 인공지능형 방향성 유도등 개발에 활용할 것이다.

  • Recently, as demands of new railway and the relocation of existing line, a number of tunnel structures have been constructed. Tunnel structures contribute to minimize the cost and time of transport, but in case of railway fire accident bring serious damages of human life caused by narrowness of shelter, smoke and high temperature, difficulty in rescue. For that reason, at the beginning of plan of tunnel, the optimum design of safety facility in tunnel for minimizing the risks and satisfying the safety standard is needed. In this study, QRA(Quantitative Risk Analysis) technique is applied to design of railway tunnel for assuring the safety function and estimating the risk of safety. The case study is carried out to verify the QRA technique for railway tunnels in Iksan-Sili.

  • Railway systems are one of the best mass transit systems and many people have prevented incidents/accidents and reduced fatalities remarkably. Especially we have tried analyzing and finding the measures to prevent catastrophic accidents like train collision, derailment and fire because of their severities. It is important to assess the safety performances of railway systems like crash-worthiness analysis, body, derailment affecting factor analysis and so on for reducing and finding out the reasonable causes of disastrous accidents. In this paper the refined top-level system requirements to build-up national infra for assessing railway safety performance and the procedures and methodology for reviewing, verifying and validating infra requirements are explained. Basically the authors have used system engineering processes to analyze and verify the requirements and installation procedures and have tried maximizing the practicality of the various safety assessment systems.

  • 국내에 다수의 공동주택이 건설되고 있거나 공사중에 있으며 그 수요 또한 향후 지속적으로 증가할 예정이다. 그러나 이러한 증가추세의 공동주택 중 대피공간 규정이 신설된 1992년 이전에 시공된 건축물은 현재에도 대피공간 및 피난시설이 부재한 상황이다. 또한, 현재 계획 및 시공, 준공된 준초고층의 공동주택에 설치되어 있는 대피공간 및 이에 준하는 시설은 사생활 침해 및 타 용도 공간 활용 등으로 기능이 상실되어 있다. 이에 따라 공동주택 피난 및 대피공간에 대한 실효성을 검토할 필요가 있고 타 시 도의 선진사례를 분석하여 정책적 제안을 마련할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 공동주택 피난시설의 효율성 강화를 위해 광주광역시의 공동주택 관련 현황 및 사례 조사와 관련 법규 분석을 통해 피난시설 및 대피공간의 문제점을 검토하고 효율성이 높은 대피시설 등을 활용할 수 있는 정책적 제언 및 인센티브 제도, 가이드라인 등 정책 대안을 제시하였다.

  • MRT has various surveillance systems for passenger's safety and facility protection which are consisted of fire detection, trespasser observation and so on. However, these systems are not closely related each other because it is designed just for its own purpose, so it could be make wrong decision to surveillance system without important information to determine an accident or disaster. For more accurate event detection, surveillance system needs total situation-aware method using complementary data. This study introduces context-aware system for complex and accurate event detection. Therefore, we apply context-aware system to MRT surveillance system, selecting context-aware parameters and appling them to it.
